Long-running Earthdawn game

It was the dawn of the Fourth Age, twenty one years after the first flight of the Earthdawn.  The Bartertown Project was a dream given form.  Its goal: to prevent another Scourge by creating a place where Dwarves and other Namegivers could gather peacefully.  It's a port of call; a home-away-from-home for diplomats, hustlers, Adepts, and wanderers.  Dwarves and other Namegivers nestled in... good grief, many millions of tons of granite, all alone in the wilderness.  It can be a dangerous place, but it's our last, best hope for survival.  This is the story of the last of the Bartertown stations.  The year is 1437.  The name of the place is Bartertown Five.

...OK, that just felt amusing when I started.  Having actually written it I so want to play in a Bartertown Five game.  But alas, no, that's not actually what I'm advertising here -- this is just a regular Earthdawn game.  Well, no, that's not true - it's an Earthdawn game extraordinaire!  A fabulous, exciting, thrilling Earthdawn game, full of twists and turns and excit--wait, I already used that one.  Um, anyway, it's a great Earthdawn game with fantastic players.  It's very well established now, with a GM who has been running it for a solid ten years now (that's me!) and some players who have been in it even longer than that.  I'm not going anywhere.  (Well, I mean, I'm not leaving, as a GM.  Hopefully I'm going somewhere, both with the game and with my own life.  Um, anyway, back to the topic at hand!)

The flip side of that, however, has been that it has been a very - some might quite fairly say "cripplingly" - slow paced game, and as the GM, of course, that has been totally on me.

We're currently engaged in a kind of soft reboot.  We're updating to 4th Edition.  Everything that has happened so far has still happened, but we're taking a step back and a fresh start.  And I am committing to a once-a-week posting schedule -- which I know many still count as "slow paced", but believe me, it's going to be a huge step up.

So, if you're interested in Earthdawn, well, this is a great time to join up!  Even if you were in it before and wandered off, possibly out of frustration with that aforementioned speed issue, I promise I bear no hard feelings, and hopefully it really will move steadily once we start moving again.  I should note that I'm not looking to get overloaded -- I'm really only looking for two, possibly three new characters at this time.  But if you think you might like to be one of them, I look forward to hearing from you!

Vod'arr!
