In the shadows of the concrete towers of Chicago, the population of the supernatural community makes their lives according to the rules of their lord of the city. The city, named after a weed, has formed itself out of marshlands and changed the course of a river, making it a natural home for the myths and legends of the world.  Under the rules of the Shadow Accord, the supernatural community must keep their presence secret and their interactions with mortal society carefully contained.  Still, the rules allow for understanding of kin, those mortals who discover the existence of their kind.

The city has held as a bastion of peace for the supernatural community but strange whispers are being heard of activities on both the east and west coasts.  When the new world was first discovered, many of the dissenters of the Shadow Accords moved to the new world, slowly building a base of support.  And now it seems as if some of these powers are making moves against those who tried to suppress them.

Your characters can be new to the city trying to find a foothold or old hands making their way in the shadow society.  They may be a mortal who have become kin by learning about the shadow society and agreed to follow the Shadow Accords, or stumble onto it and given the option to become kin.  This is an adult RP so there is a possibility of sexual or violent happenings in the gameplay.  The game is a sandbox style RP with some various plot points thrown out with NPCs but players are encouraged to help create their own stories as well.

Current State of the City

The Lord of the City has been in the seat of power since the early ‘70’s having taken it over from a vampire who’d been exposed breaking the Shadow Accords.  Soon after, he set up a council of elders to advise him and help keep the peace between the various supernatural factions in the city. He has also started to have more public soirees and persuaded the fantastical Djinn Bazaar to set up a marketplace in Chicago for the community.

Despite the more openness, a lot of descent has begun to rise in the city as more strange happenings around the city.  Samuel Hain has become an ear listening to the concern on the council of Elders, assuring them that the Lord is doing his best.  Still, a growing disharmony is festering in the community.

We have some great characters and threads going but with plenty of room for more to join.  Play out your own story and bring others with you or join the fight for the city.

The party is just getting started!  The Spring Solstice party hosted by the Lord of Chicago has just started and all supernatural creatures are invited.  We have a great line up but we can use plenty more supernatural characters along with mortals/kin.  Dark forces are moving in the city looking to sew a little chaos while shadowy organizations work to harness the power unknown to them.  Come join the party.
