Celtic Adventures - D&D5e

White shields they carry in their hands,
With emblems of pale silver;
With glittering blue swords,
With mighty stout horns.
In well-devised battle array,
Ahead of their fair chieftain
They march amid blue spears,
Pale-visaged, curly-headed bands.

This is a Dungeons and Dragons game set in an Iron-Age Celtic world, where the Fey and Humanity clash over land and where the Fomorians seek to destroy everything in their path. Where life is cheap but family is everything. Where legends aren't born, they're forged by adversity and a little luck.

The game is fairly 'human-centric', with Elves and Half-Elves finding the human world very unforgiving and harsh (and where their ears might be worth more to some than they are). Half-orcs are renamed 'half-Fomorians' and they are viewed with suspicion and shame - they often aren't made willingly in man's conflict with the Fomorian races.

As a DM, I run an asymmetrical game - the baddies and the goodies aren't finely balanced. Instead, I buff Big Bads with 'villainous actions' and eyeball monster rather than trust the CR system implicitly. I curate the player experience instead of just doing what the DMG tells me to do in the hope that I can make the game more fun for my players.

In reply to Yozi (msg # 1):

Interested. Can you confirm a couple of details:

- Are all PHB races available, or are you limiting some of them, e.g. tiefling , Dragonborn?
- What is your expected posting frequency?
- what is your house rule on spells. Do they need to be prepared, or are you happy for spellcasters to cast any spell that they know?

Thanks

Celtic Adventures - D&D5e

Several spots have opened up in the game. The group as split over a difference of opinion about what to do with an NPC. Some players have dropped out.

As such, the active characters are:
  • Human Monk
  • Human Warrior
  • Human Druid
  • Human Cleric

The post-rate is roughly 1/day but there have been a few days where I've been unable to post. That said, we've had an epic combat encounter already, and some exploration as well as an NPC interrogation.

If you'd like t come and join us in the human-centric Celtic adventures, come check us out!

@Jarodemo: Apologies, I didn't see this message. If you RTJ or message me in the game, I can tell you everything you need to know.
