Ravenloft 5th Edition
Welcome to the Dread Realms, Ravenloft whatever you would like to call them most call them the lands of the Damned, which makes you but one of the lost souls as well. You have been taken from where ever you hailed from, some of you come from a completely different world, others from a different Domain, whatever the case something was seen in you that has brought you to the Mist's attention, and now you are at their mercy, or their grace. It's truly hard to say.
You are in front of a battered old iron gate, that looks as though it has seen better days. The road to this place was desolate there were trees that were devoid of life and leaves along the path to this place. Ancient pikes stick in the ground, rusted from years of misuse. A tattered banner still wavers on a flag pole, to hard to make out the heraldry. A full moon hangs overhead in a night sky, bright as freshly spilled blood, and red it as well.
What looks like bats have taken wing in the night sky only they have to be something much bigger. The walls around the gate are stone and look as though they have seen both war and siege from the damage that has been done to them.
Still, there is the scent of fireplaces on the wind, as well as the acidic scent of something not quite alive.
In the distances, a tower as dark as night, and as bleak as a sky with no stars sit against the heavens. It is the structure truly visible rising from the destruction of the town ahead of you. Of course, you are not alone here, there are others that have begun to wander from the mists as well looking around at the place they have been taken.
There is safety and unity in numbers.
Before you apply understand that I have only recently come into these books. I am very familiar with Ravenloft. 5th edition is new to me this is a test run because I have only ever played once, Rules lawyers need not apply.
You may wind up adventuring alone of forming small groups to go out and do things, as the gm I will give you the opportunity to make friends and do quests, I will not bend over backwards to make you join a group. If you find yourself all alone because you would not/ did not work with other players your fate might turn our dire.
