Imperium Arcana

You are a citizen of Imperium Arcana (Homebrew Setting). From anywhere on the continent of Remulus. Depending on where you are, you can find inspiration from Imperial Rome, Post-Viking Scandinavia, Arabian Nights Middle East, Imperial China, elven samurai, and non-Earth cultures. And there is plenty of room to flesh it out in all sorts of directions to make room for your character ideas.

An Age is coming to an End. There is an untenable truce between the Imperium and the Elven Compact. Dune has already stepped outside that conflict by leaving the Empire. And an on again off again civil war is raging in the north between the Old Ways and the ways of the Empire.

You are a capable individual, not necessarily a professional adventurer. And you are getting ready to celebrate New Year's Eve. What you don't know is that you have the weirdest, most awesome, and most action-packed year of your life around the corner.

This is a game both for those that are familiar and those that are not familiar with GURPS 4e. And those that are familiar and not so familiar with the setting of Imperium Arcana.

We have characters that are proficient in: melee combat, healing, divine magic, holy knowledge, parkour, ersatz sorcery, and stealth.

We have characters that have some skill in magic knowledge, outdoors knowledge, bypassing traps/locks, and social interaction.




In particular, we can use a ranger/scout or a marshal.


Or someone with a variety of ranged combat, military knowledge, exploration, dungeon delving, investigation, and urban knowledge.

Super-new to the site so I'm not familiar with etiquette yet - apologies!

That said, I've played (and run) a bunch of gurps, and I like the 'ranger' archetype. I'd like to chat about possible character ideas with you - where is a good place to do that?

* Click the Request Access link in the top right-hand corner.

These looking for players threads are not generally where you expect posts, so if you are interested in joining other games, that's how you do that.

In my case, there is a House Rules thread, some mechanics related threads, and some setting related threads to read. Some of them are more important than others and some of them, such as the Culture and Tradition thread, include information on several topics that may or may not be useful to you and your character.
