"After I made a house call in the first quarter of the first game, you guys got smart. Still wreaked some havoc in your backfield, but chasing you and Bronk all over that enormous field made for a long day in Hamilton."
He raised his right index finger. "I did enjoy the reverse being true the few times you guys had to punt. There was some dust eating going on then. Wish that had happened more often, of course."
Rock gave a tight-lipped smile and amiable nod to the dragonette. "Hope you're enjoying your evening, miss. I'm Rock Woodson."
He turned back to Mik. "And I'm glad we're on the same side now. I expect lining up across from you guys all week long will make me a much better player. Hopefully you fellas like to bring your A game during the week."

he lowers his Voice is lowered, just a bit...Now? , Comes time for Payback.. Sims don't care what you do, as long its by the rules...there ain't npo 'take it easy, cause the play's on the other side of the field'..other teams don't like that..stresses them out..they make mistakes..that's what we do...make them, make mistakes.

His attention returned to Mik. "Division games are never nice games, from what I hear. Good that I'll be starting with one, as I'm sure it'll be eye-opening to see the intensity first-hand." A person could hear stories, but it was never the same as stepping onto the field.
"Seems like Vegas has us heavily favored. Beating a team twice in a year is never easy, though is it?" Much less three times. Rock did nod at Mik's whispered instructions. Probably best to see how things played out once the game started. Rock didn't particularly want a reputation for cheap shots in his first game. It would be the exact opposite of how he'd played in Canada and in college. And it wasn't how anyone in his family had played the game.
Though one thing he knew for sure is that he always had his teammates' backs. And San-Guigerre did specify 'within the rules'. "I saw what happened to Miss Montomery. Imagine there might be more of the same. NFL players don't particularly like to be embarrassed."

Heather gave Nat a kiss, picked up her soda and walked over towards Rock, he could tell she still was walking with a little limp. Heather smiled and said," Hello you are Rock Woodson Cornerback played in the CFL right? I am Heather Montomery number 12 Place Kicker for the Dragons, are you joining the team?"

Rock nodded politely and offered an oversized hand to Heather as she introduced herself. "It's very nice to meet you, Heather. I am Rock Woodson, most recently of the Montreal Alouettes in the CFL. Season's over up north, though, so I'm here to become a Dragon. Deal should be inked first thing in the morning. I play corner and return punts, probably cover kicks as well. I only ask that you don't turn all our kickoffs into touchbacks so I get some fun now and then, m'kay? Nice and high down to the one yard line." He smiled at the redhead.
Rock looked down at Heather's leg and gestured toward it with an open palm before he looked back up at her eyes. "How's your recovery coming along? Terrible cheap shot from what I saw on replay."

I am just glad I am an athlete or I couldnt have moved out of the way, I am glad I just barely caught him and turned or my leg could be snapped in two." Heather stopped and felt embarrassed and added," Sorry got carried away there, hey I am a redhead."

Rock shook off the apology from Heather. "Please, don't apologize. I'm not a redhead and I'd be fired up just like you. Like you say, intent seemed to be clear, and that's not something this league wants or needs. Or typically tolerates. Usually that kind of stuff will clear the benches in a jiffy, and that's not a good look for the Shield."
Rock jutted his chin out. "Just know I got your back if there's any funny business on Sunday." His dark eyes hardened as he tried to reassure Heather. "And from what I've seen on tape, you at eighty percent is better than most kickers at a hundred. Keep at your rehab and show those bastards who's boss, yeah?"
Rock had his own injury history. NFL thought his career had been over before it started. He'd start proving them wrong on Sunday. "You been listening to the doctors and trainers, I hope?"

He observed the look and smirked. "Yeah, but how awesome would it have been if all the Dragonettes had piled on Stokes after that incident? Maybe you get suspended a week, but might be worth it. Dragonettes all seem pretty fit. I bet they pack quite a punch when angered en masse."

Then Nat came over and Heather smiled, she looked at Nat when she said he was lucky she couldnt get to him. Yeah Nat would have kicked his ass. Heather smiled at Rock when he responded to Nat, Heather then waved to Cal as he and his wife walked by.
Heather than said," I think it is time we head home Nat, my leg is sore and because I listen to my trainers I should be heading home, very nice to meet you Rock, look forward to watching you play for us." Heather took Nat's hand and waited for her and Rock's response.

Rock hadn't kept track of all the suspension news, but was glad to hear the perpetrator wouldn't be playing this week. He nodded at her comment on the reason for the cheap shot. "Yeah, well, you're not going to let anyone take that away."
He smirked as she mentioned listening to the trainers. "Smart choice, Heather. Save your dance moves for the next pep rally. And I look forward to watching you kick, but remember - save the touchbacks for when I'm not on kick coverage."

at 17:00 | Rising Son #2As folks started to filter out, Rock pulled out his phone and called the driver. "Benjamin? Yeah, things are starting to thin out here and I've got an early start tomorrow." He paused. "Five minutes? Perfect, see you out front."
Rock quickly moved through the room to offer 'goodbye' or 'see you tomorrow' to those that he'd already met. He let Yuto know he'd see him bright and early the next morning.
Once he'd finished making a quick round, Rock headed out to the car and back to the hotel where he made sure everything was packed and the alarm time began with the number 4. He'd give Amota 15 minutes after he arrived at 5 to settle into his office before showing up to put pen to paper.
----> Somewhere, Elsewhere, or maybe just to the next day.

The lot was getting full in the Visitors section. The Players/team section was just about empty. Yuto's car was there. the Taxi stand was ready with Security there, to keep, folks away so those people who didn't have cars could enter.
the velvet ropes were set up.. fans started to get a place so they could get pics, and autographs.

He walked towards the door, but paused to wave to those clustered outside. Coming to a game was one thing, but what was the fun in watched a bunch of people going into a party? It always left him a bit puzzled.
He headed over to the crowd to talk to them.
"Hey, how are you? Did you enjoy the game? Are you coming to the next one?"

"Hey folks, great talking with you but my girl has already gone in. No doubt some football playing jock will be chasing her by now... See you at the next game!"
Grinning, Ben went inside himself and found Lu-Ti at the bar. He ordered a cranberry soda and joined her.
"How long would you like to stay? I'm hoping you'll come to Kitchen Magic, and Jerome promised to cook up something special but needed to know when we were going to get there."
He watched the room filling up. Lu-Ti was a bit quiet tonight, still getting over her day, he expected.
