Interested in learning to GM Pathfinder...

Okay, so this is an idea (possibly a bad one) that keeps coming back to me...

Currently, I own about 80 Pathfinder 1E PDFs. I have yet to use them. Considering I paid actual money for them, I'm really itching to do something with them. GMing-wise, that is.

The problem is, I haven't had much luck in playing (as a player, not a GM) in any PF games - they all imploded for one reason or another. So, I can't say I actually know the system. Especially as it's quite robust. Nevertheless, I'm currently tempted to try running it - if only to see if D&D / PF is something I am even compatible with.

So... over at the GMs Wanted forum, players often ask GMs to teach them this or that system. I wonder if a reverse setup is possible? I mean, would there be any experienced PF player(s) interested in playing in a PF game run by a GM that's learning his ropes with the system? And willing to lend a hand at deciphering the rules?

Just wondering whether it's a workable idea at all?

I would definitely be interested in that.  I love the pathfinder system, and one of the things I love are the tools available to GMs for building encounters, to include what type of tactics certain enemies are expected to use.

Are you planning on running modules, your own campaign or an Adventure Path?

There are many people very familiar with Pathfinder 1E, including myself, and many are happy to be helpful in a game. =)

Pathfinder games have a very high rate of failure, at least they seem to do so here.  So, don't be discouraged that you haven't had much luck.  I haven't had much success and I've been around ... a while.

So if you want to GM, then go for it!   We can always use another storyteller at the table.

I can't really help but I hear you. I'm in the same boat here. I bought two Humble Bundles worth of Pathfinder PDFs but never actually got to really get into the system. I'm not the biggest fan of the entire D&D paradigm but Pathfinder is probably the best iteration of it that I've seen. Good luck with your endeavour.
