Savage Cthulhu?

I have the rough foundation for a game idea, and I wanted to see if it is something people would be interested in, and if so, in what direction to take it.

It will be using the latest Savage Worlds rulebook, Adventure Edition, also called SWADE.

I want to run a game inspired by Cthulhu - I don't know if I'll use the Realms of Cthulhu rules or not yet (I need to read them more first).
My idea is that the players belong to a secret arcane group, the Hermetic Order of the Silver Twilight.
All the players will be given AB:Arcane for free, as I want them all to be sorcerers.
It will be modern day, so I think using the 15 skill point optional rule makes sense, and probably give them d4 Spellcasting for free, as part of their core skills.

My idea is that they are sent out to 'liberate' arcane items, suppress rogue magic users, induct new members, stop stories about them, that kind of thing.
But in terms of a plot line, I'm not sure what to do with the players.

I could go heavy action fighting eldritch creatures, I could go social with them hobnobbing with politicians and other wealthy/powerful people, have them exploring mysterious places.
I'm giving myself so much option, I'm not sure what to do.

So:
1. Would such a game appeal to people?
2. If so, in what way would you want to go with it?

Savage Cthulhu?

This sounds really interesting and I'm a big fan of SWADE.

For Cthulhu, I prefer creepy, mysterious exploration.

It sounds like this is very much up to what Yog-Sothoth wants at the time: he has some reputation for being into very specific sacrifices, so you could run with a plot of how on Earth your players are going to organise the simultaneous upside-down fire-based murder of three left-handed doctors at high noon in a ritual site that's now, say, the exact centre of Times Square.

Set difficult conditions, make sure that consequences for any lack of planning are strongly enforced (e.g. you hang around outside a potential victim's house too long, they notice and might arm themselves or call the police), and throw in a number of Investigators that may increase the more things are stolen/people are murdered/etc.

I've decided to build the game, and see how it goes - link to another game
