VI discussion group (good idea, or bad idea)?

I've started putting together a general RPOL discussion thread, run like any group/ game thread, for  RPOL members that are blind, or visually impaired, where they can learn helpful information, and also where sighted players, and DMs, can ask questions. When I started this, it seemed like a good idea to me, but sometimes what seems like a good idea to me, doesn't always turn out to be a good idea.

So, thoughts?

It sounds like the kind of thing that would be a very useful resource, but also very difficult to maintain as a live game and connect to the site in general: not everyone checks this forum, and you'd be constantly bumping the 'game' to get it, well, seen by sighted users, which would be necessary for anything that needs to be done from the non-impaired side. It's tricky, for sure.

If you have a few visually impaired folk ready and wating to contribute tips, maybe ask the mods to start an accessibility thread over in Resources or somewhere that could have a permanent link to your forum for anyone seeking it in future? There are probably other things that could be usefully contributed to such a thread eventually, though I won't thread derail with suggestions here.

Honestly, I wasn't entirely sure where to put it, and creating a thread like a game thread seemed like the most useful way to go about it.

At the time.

I'd be totally lying if I said I completely understand this site, have knowledge of where everything goes,  and all of its functions.   It was more inspired by, let's save some folks  some time and make life easier.   So, if you have some additional thoughts in that vain, or addditional suggestions, let me, literally, hear them.

It would prove useful, although a wiki entry as a summary for posts would probably be easier to navigate, index, and maintain

It is a good idea, just difficult to implement. The site is labyrinthine and probably only understood by the architects - some people live in the game-linked wikis mentioned above, for instance, and having hung out here for around a decade I never use them, and I've seen other veterans make wrong guesses as to where public questions go. The rules for Heaven (Resources) are at the top of its forum and a game will stay alive if you remember to go and poke it every three years in the worst case where random folk don't find and steadily show up there, so a link from there is my best suggestion.

I have heard that game discussion forums of legendary size or longevity can get promoted to site ones, though the site has something of a majority focus, so I wouldn't hold out for that. If such a game/place existed I would definitely come and ask questions, though: making it easy for everyone to get the same quality out of a game is something I'm very interested in.

 1. I've never used RPOL's wiki, so I have no knowledge on how easy it would be for me, someone that's blind, to put info there. I'll check it out later. Heaven does sound better, since its gaming resources at any rate.
