SWADE All wizard game

Another idea to brew on and check for interest.

I love the Savage Worlds (SWADE) system. Fast, flexible, and easy to deal with the crunch.

I'm interested in running a game where every player is a wizard, working for the wizard's guild.

All adults, so not children in a mock HP.
They know how to use a few spells, but work together to learn, look out for one another, and be in a place where their skills can go together. They are at the start of their magical journey

But just because you're a wizard, players wouldn't be forced into tropes if they don't want to.
Want to wear armour? Go for it! This isn't D&D, there aren't proficiencies.
Want to sling fireballs in a robe? Flame on!
Want buffing spells whilst you swing with a sword? Excellent!

I'd be making a homebrew, working with the players to establish the world, building what they need, avoiding what they don't.

Storywise, it would be influenced by what the players would like.
Kicking a bunch of doors in and looting dungeons? I can work with that?
Investigating hidden cults and using magic to help see the unseen? Beward what you see!
Scholastic studies and interacting with fellow guild members? Time to make a bunch of NPCs!

It would be only SWADE. I don't have the Fantasy Companion, and I know not everyone who does have SWADE will have that yet either.

Would a game like this be of interest?

It sounded interesting until this part =/

SWADE All wizard game

That could be a lot of fun.

"Magic" in Savage Worlds has always been interesting because the system generally is more low key.  Even veteran characters don't generally wield the fat crackling power of the gods so you can really do a lot without things getting out of hand.

Sorry Elfy.

I thought it best to be upfront with this.

In reply to Nu_Fenix (msg # 4):

I have both the Fantasy Companion 3E and the Horror Companion 3E pdfs (and also the Savage Pathfinder books/pdfs). They add a good deal of interesting options, so bummer there.

While I don't have anything specific in mind, would you be willing to consider character options and other options etc. from those books (and perhaps other Savage Worlds books), if, say, you were provided a screen shot of the relevant page(s)?

In reply to Elfy (msg # 5):

Potentially, yes :)

It would depend what it is, and how much it might give an unfair advantage over others, however anything could be discussed.

My interest level is exponentially increased =)

Of course, although I'm not sure anything[*] in Savage Worlds is overpowered/gives an unfair advantage over others (also, it's not a competition between the player characters, right? They are on the same team, working together, yes?)

1) What sort of tone were you considering: silly/comedic, dark/mysterious, or some other tone?

2) What sort of 'rating'/content are you considering?

[*]
Except some of the things in Savage Pathfinder (The races are built on 4 points instead of 2 points unlike in other SWADE books, and I believe Class and Prestige Edges are equivalent to two normal SWADE Edges. Everything is else in the books are normal power level though AFAIK).

Re: SWADE All wizard game

I've decided to give it a go, and made the game!

link to another game

Rating wise it is general. I don't see the need to have it go down mature or even adult levels.

Tone I'm open.
