Character Leveling Guidelines

Leveling

CHARACTER POINTS
Base 24 @ Level 0
Base +24 each additional Level

Duties: +2 Per Level
Disadvantages: 10 (x3 Taken, otherwise x1= 3 CP, x2= 6 CP)

Feats: +6 CP Per Level Based Feat (L0, L1, L2, L4, L6, each even level after)
Human: +6 CP (Bonus Feat)

Required Purchases: This is in CP cost (Not the number you must grab)

Adventurer Framework
AbilityMin PurchaseMax Purchase
Hit Die0*None
Skill Points2*12
Saving Throws3*12
Special Abilities0 12
Warcraft3+12
Magic Levels018
Extra Spells04

Mind you, that is BASE CP. Bonus CP from Disadvantages, Duties and Feats allows you to exceed those limits.

BAB must equal HALF your level rounded down. (By Level 2, you need a +1 BAB)
Warcraft +1 = 6 CP

Okay, so with all that said, it's time to flesh out characters. For some, it's just the 26 CP, others, it's a bit more. :)

Re: Character Leveling Guidelines

Races & Templates, Template Levels

In eclipse, one can build Races, or use a Race as a Template. Every 32 CP is a +1 ECL.

Most standard races are 31 CP or Less, ergo ECL +0. A Race Character Points are NEVER deducted from your Level Based Pool. It just uses the ECL system. However, the player with GM approval may allow a player/character to begin at the SAME LEVEL as the rest of the party and then buy up their racial abilities.

Now, leveling as hidden features, it's increasing your level, allowing increased skill points, and purchasing your d4 for you. You can SKIP a level entirely and instead take what would be considered a TEMPLATE LEVEL. A Template Level does not increase your level, but allows you to either buy up your racial abilities (if you started as a lesser version) OR with GM permission you may purchase a template.

Template Level grants a Character 32 CP (+1 ECL effectively). I've allowed cases where a player playing a Higher ECL race was allowed to SPEND level CP to decrease the ECL... I have a Drow that ended up being ECL+1 if you build it in Eclipse, and then spent about 17 CP to make it an ECL +0 Race.

So, buy now you're probably realizing the your standard 24 CP per level, is actually 32 CP, minus 8 CP for the cost of the d4 HD. Yes, your HD is actually 8 CP more expensive outside the leveling mechanism.

I think that concludes today's explanation on Races and Leveling.
