Chapter 3 Blackwell Village.

Having stuffed themselves on bear meat and finished gathering things they wish to bring, the group decides to return to Blackwell Village.  It takes about another hour to reach the edge of the village.  There are no encounters on the way back.

(Those who decide NOT to go back to the village can inform me in PM of their plans.)

Blackwell Village, Messiah-
The 3rd Large Moon, Friday 5, 572 AA
 Morning
Partly cloudy, slight breeze, 60 degrees

Nobody seems to be about much. You would be arriving FROM the North.

"So long as you make an exception for tonight," Ms. Strand chimes in winningly.

With that, she separates herself form the others intent on her own business.

L. wants to buy a replacement set of appropriately sized leather armor. Also, can she find someone to teach her the Search and/or Anatomy skill?

I'm going with you Ligeia, this place isn't exactly safe.  Perhaps we can learn more as we explore the village.

 She joins Ligeia.

( Heather has been idle too long with no responses to my inquiries, thus she has been NPCed at least until I hear from her)

Current Positions:

Ligeia begins her search about the village for the things she is seeking with Afamrail at hand.

Jenouise makes her way through the village with her cart. She is surprised by the inherent lack of interest that her spectacle of a wagon usually causes.  Occasionally you see a child peeking out the window only to be pulled away by a skidish parent.

(I'll need to know where you put the wagon if you stop.)

Rubus and Gorn enter St. Charlemagne's church
( look for a separate thread for the two of you)

Jenouise clapped and said, ”Wait right there, I will be around in a moment.” She seemed almost giddy as she disappeared into her wagon. She emerged out the back of the wagon with 2 silver pieces in her hand. She moved toward him, king of slithering along in dance like movements. As she got right up on him she said, ”Hold out your hand and close your eyes.” She waited for him to obey and dropped the silver into his hand. Then she stood on tiptoes and kissed him on the cheek. She giggled and went back into her wagon. She gathered her things to entertain, locked up her wagon and headed into the tavern.

Jenousie enters the tavern and finds Alaric already sitting at the bar.

There is a large red headed bartender.  In the far right corner are a group of seafarers armed with cutlasses, and in the left of the room are a group of what look to be fishermen.  In the far left corner a dranabian sits with  terran friends talking.

A dranabian female is waiting on tables.

11:15, Today: Jenouise rolled 13 using 2d6+5.  Comedy.

Her fevered eyes move across him, looking at him as if he did not really exist, but something inside him did exist. ”Of course.” She began walking around the room, looking at patrons. She is looking for someone willing to play along, and honestly you don’t make a living at this without being able to spot a prime punter. She saw one early on, but building the suspense was part of the fun. She just stuck her head into tables and looked at them, with her fever mad eyes and grin, and fingers wiggling in the air. She waited for the room to quiet down, her behavior would ensure this. Perhaps some murmur and snickering and then, she shook her tambourine and palm played the drum part. She strode around, pretending again to draw out her choice, but went back to the punter she saw earlier. She took him by the hand and got him to stand up. She motioned to him and got the tavern to come behind her and cheer him on until he relented and nodded his assent.

She turned to the room and slashed at her throat, her way of demanding silence which she got, immediately. Everyone leaned in to make sure that could hear. She began:

”So I met a group of travelers, mercenaries, on the way here. They faced off against a foul Ork horde, and their mighty leader Hu...”

Punter: ”Who?”

”Exaclty.”

”What?”

”No. No. No. Watt was to the left, casting lightening bolts.”

”Wait who is on the left flank.”

”No, I’ve already told you, Hu is in the middle, he is the big cheese, the man with the plan, the head honcho in charge. Hu is in the middle.”

”I’m sorry, I don’t know.”

”No. No. No. She was in the back, invisible. I love invisible, very fun thing to cast.”

[Frustrated]“WHO?”

”Oh no. Ida Nau. Would you please listen.”

”Sorry, I am confused.”

“Wrong again. You are my punter, a very prestigious position. Con Phuse’d was the leader of the Mercenaries”

”I’m a punter?”

”Silly, Ida is a Nagga, you are a Punter.”

”I though you was in the middle.”

”Now you are catching on. Hu in the middle. Watt on the left. Ida in the back.”

”I give up, who?”

”Are you calling me an Ork?”

[nearly in tears]”No you are a clown.”

“YES! You got that all by yourself. For that you get a kiss.” She kissed him on the cheek and nudged him to sit down.

[to the man beside him] ”What just happened?”

[man beside him smacks him with a walking stick] ”You are braindead, she told you like six times, Watt is on the left.”

Jenouise takes a bow...

And well you should, who knows what manner of evil befell them.  There's not much law around these parts except an occasional patrol. Speaking of which, one came by this morning reporting that King Jonathan had gone missing.

Re: Tavern

Jenouise performs for 45 minute, takes a short break, and returns for another 45 minutes. She mostly sings funny and bawdy drinking songs such as Money Rolls In and Landlord Fill The Flowing Bowl. Between songs she tells jokes, like first one she usually uses someone from the audience and gives him a kiss on the cheek as a thank you for helping. At one point she wants Gorn to join her “on stage,” and she whispers, ”Don’t worry, I’ll do all the work.” He politely refused.

She picked another fellow if he came with her she does a bit of bawdy humor - basically a bunch of jokes with the same punchline, the gentleman’s manhood is too large for a small girl like her. This is a PG game so you will have to provide the jokes yourselves. Everyone else had gotten a kiss on the cheek, and she went to give him one as well, but at the last second she switched and kissed him on the lips. It is a long, slow, and soft kiss that just goes on and on. The crowd of course reacted properly, raucous laughter interspersed with cat calls egging them on. When she finally pulls back she grinned and said, ”Tell you what, come up to my room later and we’ll try to make it fit again.” Ending her show she thanked everyone, reminded them to tip the barkeep and the serving wenchs (even if there are none) and took her bows. She sat in man’s lap and said, ”Ohhh...down boy.” Which is her last joke of the night.

Hey, wouldn't the scaly scamp have had to find within which of the innumerable folds of her cloak she had placed those keys? You how hard it can be to find one's own keys let alone those of another. :)

I can see her both twirling the keys about and secreting them away. She also drew her rapier, the drawing of which probably would have meant the stowing of the keys. No need to worry this point any further. The crimes are in progress: assault with a deadly weapon and attempted larceny!

Ligiea strikes the Lizardman successfully who now tries to run to the west through the stables. It has taken 12 points damage. The stablehand, Geoff runs out of the stable.

This will provoke an attack of opportunity for:

Gorn
Ligeia
and Heather

Alaric and Afamrail will go after.

She catches her breath and cleans her slimed rapier on the ratty blanket on the floor.

She thanks each of the others in turn for their prompt arrival.

Successfully charming one of the sea farers, Jenouise retires to a private room, with much laughter from some of the gusts in the tavern.

( Please deduct some coin for drinks and 1 gp for a night's stay)
