Jenouise's hammer does 11 points damage to the knight. He .. It? and the mount fight on.

 

Holding aloft her holy symbol, which bears a curious resemblance to a herding dog, Ligeia commands the spirits of both the horse and knight to "pass on" or at least "get very very far away."

22:27, Today: Ligeia Strand rolled 12 using 2d6+5.  Turn Undead.

The rider turns to you and hisses with an evil snarl, but it rears the horse and gallops off to the west, into the fog. The sounds of the horse fading off in the distance.

 Pushes Rubus off her..  Getting your jollies while a woman is down?

Dang it!  I wanted to blast that thing!


Afamrail reaches in her pack and pulls out the healing potion and drinks it.

 The potion restores 4 END to Afamrail and he body surges with life giving energy.

For the first time since the others have known him, Rubus is angry. He rolls off Afamrail; and, seeing what she's doing, exclaims FOOL!

Ligeia shouts, "Enough of your tomfoolery. We must flee. South for 50 breaths."

As they hurry, she looks for any indication of the manor itself.

Jenouise's look at Rubus's reaction is that of pure surprise, her eyes wide, lips pursed out in an o shape and for once, she didn't try to make a jest...hell, she didn't even make a comment. Instead, her look shifting into that of discomfort, she looked to Ligeia and quickly followed after her, not wanting a part in that.

The party runs south following Ligeia's surprisingly fast little legs.  Making their way across the flat field they are on,  they soon find another rise and scramble over that.  Before you is another 3' high stone wall and the moat beyond that down a hill.  To the SE you see a two stone tower where the wall around the field you are on joins it. It takes about 20 seconds for you all to move quickly to this point in unfamiliar terrain in the mist.

Running with the others, Afamrail glares at Rubus.. Bhin Siffi!

Scrambling up over the small hill, she points to the tower. Let's go there and maybe it can't follow us on horseback.

Rubus doesn't waste effort glaring back. he makes for the tower if Afamrail does, keeping close to her.

After vaulting over the stone wall, Ligeia tries the door to the southeastern tower.

"Lunch as well," she appends to Afamrail's motivating speculation.

  Following along he hefts himself over the low wall.

Stop it you two, there's enough evil about without you adding to it!

 Following the others he leaps over the wall.

Careful, the last tower had a pest problem...

 Making haste the group advances to the weathered wooden door of the tower and hops over the wall.  It's been about 30 seconds since the dark rider was turned away by Ligeia.

Without hesitation, Ligeia tries the tower door.

The heavy tower door rotted from age, easily moves open to a point. As Ligeia pushes it open, it moves forward a bit and meets resistance as if something is lying on the floor behind it.
The room inside is dark and emits a pungent irritating odor.

 Holding his nose Alaric calls to Gorn.

  We need your torch.

Deftly he lights his torch again, passing it up to the front.

 Hurry that evil warrior could come back any second!

 Good, then I can blast him! It whatever.. let's just go!

Rubus touches the end of his staff and says Lord of light may this staff aid our sight.

The upper end of the staff glows, and Rubus sticks that end into the interior.

The staff gleams a white instantly and quite brightly.

Pushing open the door you can see debris on the floor inside and a faint edge of a chest or bureau. As you open the door something on the ground beyond prevents you from opening it normally.


To open the door it will need to be forced a little. Any PC is welcome to try STR check.

The slight priestess steps out of the way so that Gorn or Alaric can push the debris out of the way.
