Re: Undead Dread- Round 3

Jenouise:
The look on Jenouise's face was that of uncertainty as she moved in to attack the remaining undead. "Come on! Just...die...again already..."

18:33, Today: Jenouise rolled 7 using 2d6+2.  Attack: Rapier.

Sorry for the slight delay! Trying to adjust to a new routine in real life!

Sadly Jenouise fails to hit her target

Noting daunted, Rubus takes another poke...and wonders if a daunted poke might might be more effective.

21:28, Today: Rubus Elann rolled 7 using 2d6.  To Hit.

Fighting doesn't seem to be Rubus's strong point at the moment, and he misses his mark.

Gorn grumbles under his breath as he is unwillingly able to drop his sword for the better one.

He vents his anger at the last undead and finishes the undead Aelf ending the combat.

Exploring the Tower.

The group having defeated the undead now faces the debris and gear on the ground as well as the chests.  A decaying order of death lingers in the air, as well as the other very pungent smell.

Exploring the Tower.

Rubus says a short prayer beside each body. He looks around for a means to scrape the remains out the door. He says While it might seem callous, it would clear the air and contribute a mite to our overall task. And it would make dealing with the most annoying stink easier.

As Rubus begins dragging out the remains- knight first.. he notices they all still have gear with them. He wears a dark blue cloak in the color of Messiah, and carries a shield of the Knights of the grail. He is wearing scale mail armor, a helm, a silver necklace with a chalice pendant, a purse, and a dagger.  His sword is lying on the ground where it fell. The cloak his clothes boots and skin are a bit corroded.

"Maybe we'll have the time to do this proper like," Ligeia says, surveying the scene in the first floor of the tower which includes four corpses which require a proper investigation and then removal. Burial, however, was not in the cards in her current hand. She deduces that the knight's sword might be holy and, thus, might be wielded by such as herself. She tests out her theory.

Ligeia picks up the sword.  Though large for her size, it produces no burning effect in her hands. She does see some writing on it in Spiritual Script

The Indigo Blue robe though eaten at seems to jog Afamrail's Memory about something magical.( roll to check)

There is a gnarled staff in one hand and she bears a backpack and bedroll.  A leather purse is on her waist and ruined clothes and boots are on her body.  She wears a sapphire blue ring on one hand.

Ligeia frowns, "It's cursed. Can you free it, Rubus? That scroll?"

"As for 'Lightbearer,' here," she begins, trying out a two-handed grip on the longsword, "it is anything but."

"Well, these weren't ordinary folks. That is plain to see. And fortunate for us to have discovered them in our flight from the black knight. It is ... incumbent ... upon me to commune with one of their spirits to learn what could have overwhelmed them here in this tower.."

She walks over to the midden of gear by the stairs. But where did the body go? She begins to pick through it for clues.

I knew there was something wrong with this sword, it misses the target sometimes.

Gorn uses his tracking skills to begin examining this scene to see what he can determine.

She remained with the group though her gaze did turn to the chests, that curiosity still there in those bright blue eyes. She had moved to one of the chests to see if it was locked or not.

There is a padlock on the chest closest, and appears to indeed be locked

Re: Exploring the Tower.

"Can't take all of this right now," Ms. Strand mutters to herself. She picks up the bible and leafs through it. Did it have an inscription or the like? She also looks at the two scrolls and vials of clear liquid more closely.

When finished, she will walk over to the object of Jenouise's fascination, the locked chest, and pronounces the litany of discovery, brandishing her holy symbol at the appropriate intervals. If there are no traps to be found on the chest or beyond, it is but short work to make the lock fall to the floor.

17:45, Today: Ligeia Strand rolled 12 using 2d6+5.  Find Traps.
17:46, Today: Ligeia Strand rolled 14 using 2d6+7.  Remove Locks.

Rubus shakes his head. I have no prayer to free one from a cursed object. Only thing that occurs to me, Goren...a wild idea. Try the effect of trying to miss by a narrow margin.

Re: Exploring the Tower.

Ligeia begins reminding Rubus with a sharp middle fingerflick to his (wooden) head. "Where's the scroll of Remove Curse," she asks, having attracted his attention.

Uh, oh, yes, ah, of course! Forgive me. He rummages around in his backpack and brings forth the the scroll. I guess this is as good a time as any. He reads the scroll with any necessary ritual and is left with a blank scroll.

Though you don't know much about Terran religions the bible seems normal. The scrolls are indeed in scriptural text as are the two glass vials

Ligeia finds no traps and does indeed pick the simple lock. The chest in the NW corner has the following in it.

a Wooden box with 24 cross bow bolts.
Bottle of oil for blades
A stone blade sharpener
a folded Blackwell Coat of Arms Flag

a bag of 30 sling stones

a felt bag with 10 silver sling stones

a spyglass range 1 mile

a maple comb
