I'm in favor of exploring each area as we are there.  If we miss something it will be a long haul across dangerous cursed places to get back.

Did anyone actually look upstairs?

Gorn looked upstairs already. As for downstairs...

Ligeia sees about opening the trapdoor.

Despite showing some signs of having been rusty before the door pulls right up, even for the small furfoot.

Below is darkness. You can make out the top of a small spiral staircase heading down.

Unfortunately Afamrail fumbles her spell.

In a strange twist of magical chaos, the light spell lands on Jenousie's shoes.

Her shoes glow with blue light to a distance of 30' for 12 minutes.

Nuuta!

Come on Jenousie I now need you to come upstairs!

"Oooh how fun!" she exclaimed, looking down and admiring her now glowing shoes. With a chuckle Jenouise will follow Afamrail up the stairs.

...As does Ligeia, leaving the cellar for later.

 Afamrail, followed by Jenousie with glowing boots, Gorn and then Ligeia ( not shown on this map but coming upstairs) all come to the second floor.

There are arrow notches in the center of each wall and the roof has caved in showing a big hole in the ceiling. The trail of blood that Gorn described heads all the way up the stairs and then directly under the hole before it stops.  Boards and stone debris liter the floor.

The sun shines down through the green mist directly overhead offering a brief pause in the otherwise spooky din of this place.  But even as they walk about the mist begins to slowly close the break in the phenomena which Rubus's remove curse spell caused.

 Alalric looks down into the trap door and then up at the group going upstairs.

With a grimmace he grips his axe.

So I umm .. I will umm just guard this spot then..

Gorn looks around continuing his tracking skills.

Hmmm whatever this was it came in through the whole in the roof, possibly making the whole in the roof and made off with it's victim.

Well, then... a delightful prospect. Let us repair to the basement. If Ms. Glowy Shoes would only lead the way...

 Looking down through the trap door via the light of Jenouise's shoes is a small chamber which opens to a passageway North.

Rubus asks Would it be a good idea to pick up a bit of debris and toss it down there, just in case something...?

There is a notable skip in Jenouise's step, clearly tickled at the glowing shoes.

Rubus takes that as a "Yes," and tosses something solid down onto the lower floor.

Rubus takes one of what looks like a pole (one of the sticks on the bodies?( and uses it to push the cursed sword down onto the tunnel floor.

  The curse sword falls to the floor of the chamber below with a loud clangity clang clang!

Then all is silent.

Rubus chuckles at some recollection. Well, that was fun.

Jenouise moved a bit closer to Rubus, watching what he was doing with a clear curiosity.

"Oh, we should definitely follow that," Ligeia enthuses, referring to the corridor. "But first I need to tick a box."

"Jen, Gorn, if you would, please return with me to the second floor..."

There she requests a boost from Gorn, so she can get a look at the top of the tower.

With a shrug, Jen would follow after Ligeria though dancing a jig while she did so, clearly having too much fun with her glowing boots.

Gorn successfully hoists Ligeia to the roof/ramparts of the tower, or what's left of it, where she can easily climb up and have a look around.
