i keep getting a  white screen saying  the   site  times out...

 i have to shut the machine down hot to get a couple posts in..my ciookies are set to allow RPOL..is  this  just me?  any one else having pronbems?.. i have a Very  activte  set of games.. i need to be there for them?

It's not just you. The site's been timing out, refusing to load at all, or my favorite from last night - half-loading a page of posts (like, cutting them off in the middle) while I was trying to preview posts to post them. Started about 13 hours or so ago, and while last night it was just still working, but super slow, so far this morning it's been mostly not working at all.

Although it's up right now, so maybe it's fixed! =)

Rpol has been up and down for me timing out for most of last night and this morning. It's not just you having issues. Hopefully they can (or have) figured out the issue 'cause I wanna write!

I've been having similar problems for most of today.  My wife was having no problems accessing the site from her computer at the same time I was locked out.  Seems to be okay now.

i feel better knowing i didn't do something stupid, ebcause i  know, just enough tech, to break things!

 i had 3 posts  from early this morning  Until about noon( my time) that were timed  out. but showed up..including an answer  for a forum topic before.

 I know the site is well taken care of.. my? this is my main hobby, so i worry when goofy things happen!!

I use this site as my home page. So when it starts to time out I get nervous that something has gone wrong with my internet - I then check my quick links to be sure before panicing.

I have this in my favs, so if it doesn't show up right away when i click, i know something is wrong

I was unable to get the site to load for about a day and a half and was very concerned.  Thanks for getting us back online!

We all hung out on the RPOL Discord to keep each other company as we awaited updates. It was pleasant.

Ah, didn't know they had Discord.  Not that I'd know what to do anyways haha.

It's times like these I kinda wish the site had more of a social media thing so they could just throw up a notice of what's going on real quick.

Yah, I have no idea what happened and only knew it was back up when I got the notification email of messages.

we have a little FB group for my space game, a couple or  us  and some former players... and I was getting Emails from one of my players, 'updating' me  fromdiscord

Apparently (second hand information here) it was mentioned on the discord that it was the server host doing a data migration thingy. I don't know specifics.

Hopefully the process is complete.

Ah.  You would think that that would've been disseminated beforehand, but who knows.

Yeah, I can tell you from past experience running sites that sometimes hosts spring things like this on you. Don't know if that is the case here of course.

Not a data thing, it was an hardware upgrade (CPUs to be precise) gone wrong.

Darn hamsters. You'd think they would have them trained better by now!

On the normal older site view it's in the Chat link just over the date in the right corner.

On the newer site view clicking Chat doesn't seem to bring it up, but I might be looking at it wrong.

There is also a facebook page, RPoL Fangroup.  I run it, mostly the only time it sees traffic is when RPoL goes down, but I also post announcements there when I find them here or off the Discord (which I only think to check when RPoL goes down).
