Dice roller, how to treat rolls <n =n?

In D&D 5e there's feature (the rogue Inquisitive 3's Ear for deceit) that allows the player to "treat a roll of 7 or lower on the d20 as an 8."

Any ideas on how to automatically do this with the Dice Roller?

1d13+7 won't work because then there's a 1/13 chance of getting an 8, but there's supposed to be an 8/20 chance.

Are there any Game System/Special Dice that already do this? If not, can there be something that rerolls all results <n until there's a roll that's =>n?


There are similar features, like the the rogue 11's Reliable talent feature where "you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10"

without  ever have played that..can't you just look at the roll and say.." its  7 or lower, so its  an 8?" That would keep the integrity of the rest of the roll, with  out  overdoing the whole 'dice' thing?

I don't think there is any possibility to do this, but I don't know a lot of the systems in the roller, so...

This is exactly what you don't want: if you reroll like that, you effectively get the 1/13th chance to get anything, whereas you should have 8/20 chance to get an 8 and 1/20 for all the rest.

Oh yeah. We want to roll from deck of [8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20].

That's what we'll have to do, I was hoping for something simpler for the newbies to the site - which is already pretty tricky for people who've never played by forum.

its  quick and simple?.... roll 1d20..and you state for that particular class, that 7 or below is  8... put it in your  'rules thread'.

 Players  will ctach on, it  isn't that hard.

As a GM that is how the fudge feature works... supposedly.... not that I would ever fudge rolls...

Yeah, like a skew +7, but for the non-DM players, and which can be put in a roll link.
