Is there a way to provide a link to a specific message in a thread?

There is, add the #<number of the message> to the end of the URL, and it works well in general.

There's a bit more than that. You'll want to add some extra code to the URL to make it show all the posts, or the post numbers won't read properly.

Use This Template:
https://rpol.net/display.cgi?gi=[GI]&ti=[TI]&show=all#[PN]

Where [GI] is the game number, [TI] is the thread number, and [PN] is the post number. If you are looking at the thread you want to link, you can find the GI and TI just by looking at the URL.

Just replace the parts in brackets with the right numbers (removing the brackets, of course).

I've been using this trick a bit lately and a warning, you can get weird results if you include the "date" function.

Frex this thread today is: r.rpol.net/display.cgi?gi=9590&ti=1901&date=1528647196&show=all#1

If you include the highlighted section in a long thread it sometimes overrides the msg# call and skips to the newest posted messages.
