Has anyone noticed somethings just come naturally to their character, a bit of their character coming to life while playing them ?

I will start us out:

Jade seems to love adopting things she just learned, in her speech and conversations.
She loves her mother. (Could have gone either way)
Her fully embracing being a Princess.
Parasol replacing rapier as her weapon of preference.


There are more the character just came alive in this game.

Hmmmmm! I'm not sure my answer is exactly what you were asking for, Jade, but I do think that y'all, GM and players, have provided a place to play that makes Ballad fairly easy to play.

Like, I do feel like she's a part of the world we're playing in, and I think as game-play goes on I just get a stronger sense of her as a character. But that's really just thanks to y'all for responding as if she's a real part of the world, etc. It's easy to have a character come to life when there's good chemistry with the group at large, if that makes sense.

And sure, there are things I 'discover' as I play her, but I can't think of anything specific right now (alas). *g*

For me, I think, it has helped me figure our Jon's background more, where he came from and how he feels about somethings.

Jon is definitely more of a solider than I thought originally.
Jon is very happy to have this family, so he is trying to embrace it.
I think Jon is much more relaxed in Amber than ever at home.

Lance, making himself feel  out of place and awkward around everyone!!  Lol, crap!  It’s me at 18!!

I was wondering Lance, about that.
It seemed to come out of nowhere but it also felt very real.

I'm definitely connecting with Ariadne on a personal level, though she's evolving in different ways than I had imagined at first.
I'm definitely connecting with the "real person smirking at the weird Magic Kingdom" aspect of her character, and the part of her that's "arrogant big shot who is physically struck with how small.sue really is " is certainly blossoming

I like how everyone is evolving with the game.

Ok, so how do HP work when we hit that level up mark?  If we go to a point where we would say, add a +1 bonus to our CON, does it affect retro HP as well?

Can level up points be used towards other things other than raising a stat, such as gaining some kind of awesome ability ::cough, cough, magic weapon or Thor-like lightning, cough, cough::?

Also, how Jon is evolving, to answer Jade.
He is coming to terms with his legacy and birthright.  Something that he didn't believe in.
He definitely see similarities to his home, but finds it refreshing to have some many people who are honest and direct w/o hidden agendas.
Having a big family is nice.  Too different degrees, he can relate to each of them and enjoys those connections.

I thought of that as well. LOL

Obvs I am not the GM but I imagine that if, say, Joe the Cousin got another +1 in HP and his HP at the time was a healthy 18 out of 18, Joe's new HP would be 19 out of 19. But if Joe was sporting a still-wounded 16/18, and you bought another HP pool thingy so it was 19, you'd still be 16/19 until you healed. You'd just get to heal to 19. That's what makes sense to me! Though the GM may have a different take.
