Jennifer and Hawkins do Huntsville...figuratively

It took several stops at several shops before they came across a garage that wasn't busy for the next ten days or more. It seemed that the Slugorth had been busy in the swamps lately. The place was Hernacito's Repair, Salvage, and Tow. The sign, one of those fancy electronic billboards over the building, plainly stated mechanics on duty with immediate availability, first come is first served.

When Jennifer and Hawkins came out of the battered Mountaineer they were met by a tall man in his fifties. He wore a greasy pair of coveralls with Hernacito over the left pocket. He looked at the Mountaineer and whistled shrilly.

"I hope there were survivors." He said as he walked past them and surveyed the damage. "It's been a while since I've seen something this beaten keep rolling."

Without asking he went inside as they pair was left to look at each of curiously.

"Excuse me." A female's voice drew their attention.

She was short, young, and had a definite family resemblance to Hernacito. He name tag read Juanita. She looked at Hawkins and he realized she was figuring it out; he was a cyborg. She then scrutinized Jennifer and genuinely seemed confused.

"Alright, then, dad has his own ways but he is damn fine operator." She said. "I handle the electronics and I do some cybernetics on the side. How can we help you folks?"

Jennifer and Hawkins do Huntsville...figuratively

Jen had hit the shower in her room, spending some time enjoying the feeling of the clean water sliding over her skin.  Taking some time to tidy up and get refreshed, storing the battered armour in a sack and putting on clean clothing, a mustard yellow button up shirt of heavy cotton and a tan leather short jacket, flowing red yellow and purple patched ankle length skirt, accompanied by tough expensive quality walking boots.  Sunglasses and a wide brimmed tan hat to shade the eyes and protect her head, with an air filter lower face mask wrapped in a red and white bandana at the neck.  The gauntlet with the hooked blades was on her right arm though the blades were retracted, a little show of self defense, though walking along side a combat borg would likely be enough to keep trouble at bay.

Meeting the engineer Hernacito Jen gave a bright friendly smile.

Luckily no one was badly injured, apart from the poor Mountaineer.  Systems are mostly in good shape but the armour is shot and the hull punctured. Blinking a little as the guy left she gave a shrug and a questioning glance to Hawkins, then turning to the new voice gave a smile to young woman.

Holding out a hand, Hi, I'm Jen. Giving a little nod, I know, being able to talk with the machines is very different from dealing with people, I find it hard myself sometimes.  What we need is the hull resealed, new plating on the damage sight and the system incidentals repaired, stuff I couldn't do on the road.  Bigger possible project would be to have the powerplant exchanged from battery to a mini nuclear one.  Failing repairs and refurbishment then a look at part exchange for a new ride.  But a little reluctant to let her go as she's carried us through some intense stuff.

Hernacito came out the Mountaineer. He was punching data into a hand terminal. When he heard Hawkins mention upgrades his face came up to look the pair.

"You are hard on the gear." He said. "Looks like a bug attack some kind. A real mess. By my calculations you are going to need one hundred seventy two thousand, four hundred eleven dollars in repairs and parts. I'm a generous man so I'll call it one seventy two even. You'll need that four hundred eleven around here."

He waved to a nearby mechanic to draw his attention and said, "Hey, Mannie, grab the catalogues."

He turned to Hawkins and said, "I can order the upgrades from NG if you want. It will take a few weeks to get here. But, in town we have access to several suppliers who make comparable upgrades and the cost in about the same. Only, you won't have to pay those excessive shipping costs. And those I can start working on right away. Well, once I get her patched up and painted. What color you want?"

Listening to the prognosis Jen was happy that the plucky vehicle was repairable.  Looking over at Hawkins with a lift of an eyebrow.

How does that look in the budget?  As for colour, I'm very much a fan of something earthy toned as a base.  Also less likely to be eye catching when we're out and about, non brand upgrades sound good and would save time.  Better living area and a mini galley would be handy to make things a little more comfy for travel.

"We can handle it and Killian won't even have to settle for an armored speedo."

"Urban Dark Earth if you have it. If not then go 3/2 mix of Brown Violet and Dunklegelb."

"Also is there a habitat module available for a dog? A regular one, not a gloomy humanoid one."

Hernacito typed as fast as they talked. He smiled. No nodded. He pulled a personal comm and made a quick call. Cussed someone on the other end of the call in Spanish. Then smiled again. More typing. Then he looked up at the pair.

"I can do flat violet with dunklegelb or olive drab brown and dunkelgeld. Anything else raises the price. My supplier doesn't have brown violet." He told them. "I can set up a galley and a habitat module, and one for a pet up to one hundred pounds with a canine preference. Armor, control surfaces, new seals, gotta replace that door, the turret ring is ruined, and the toilet needs new plumbing. Including the paint. And, well, hell if you can pay out by Friday (three days away) I can have it ready by earlier Saturday afternoon."

Hawkins is tall and Jenn smells like nothing else around town, which together means that Killian can pick them out of the crowd on his way back, veering towards the duo and the sales assistant without haste, offering an only slightly gloomy (he must have been looking forwards to that speedo) "Priced up the recharge and armour. Recharge's a little cheaper than home, armour repairs a little more expensive, plus I may have a line on some equipment. How's the truck going?"

"We're just discussing color."

Speaking to Hernacito.

"Go with the ODB/Dunklegelb mix"

OOC: The vehicle paint color that is Olive-Drab Brown is called Brown-Violet. Makes no sense I know but Kevin Siembieda doesn't own the patent for illogic.

Then back to Killian.

"We need to add a Comm unit of some kind for you to our shopping list."

Yes that colour will do fine.  Internal decorations I'll take care of.

With Killian's arrival she offers a smile and nod.

Glad to hear you found out what you needed.  Don't know whether to have my armour repaired or just get a whole new suit, not much left in it that's for sure.  Hmmm, you have yours sorted I'd be happy to add some flare if you want.   Same goes for you Hawkins, always happy to add a little artistry to anything that might want it.

Looking up at Hawkins as she spoke the last words and tapping the decoration on her hook bladed bracer.

Thing is, I get the feeling that it's an underground thing in these parts. Moreover, I have no idea what it's going to cost. On the other hand, I did also get a lead on a service for service program.   Douglas walked along with the others, content to watch & listen for now.  His head kept turning this way & that, keen to see all the sights, shops, & people.  His demeanor was relaxed, but he was still on the lookout for the kind of trouble that could be found in cities.  Princess was never further than arms reach, usually on his left.  Crowded cities always made her a little anxious, but she was still wagging her tail happily.  The map he grabbed earlier was in his front shirt pocket, & occasionally, he would pull it out to mark a place of interest on it.

Killian answers, only to turn his head at the offer of advice from a random passer-by (well, they're passing her by, but still) "Seems to fit with about what I was thinking. I need reloads, then I need armour. After that, anything left over is a bonus. Of course, to get any of these things I need actual cash money."

As the others talk, Douglas listens & nods along.  Killian's latest comment about armor reminds him of his own armor issues.  "I could do with more ammunition, E-Clip recharges, & armor repairs as well.  It's not as bad as Killian's, but it was shot to hell something awful.  The mention of potential employment sounds promising, but I hope it can wait till after armor repairs at least."  He pauses for a moment, as if contemplating something, then continues, "I don't want to be a pest about it, but I could go for an actual meal, or at least something more substantial than those snacks earlier.  Maybe after the next location?  I know I tend to eat more than most, so if no one else wants anything, I'll grab something on the way."

Following the directions outlined on the back of the card Killian had been given the crew soon found themselves trekking across town again. The sights and sounds of Huntsville was becoming more accustomed. It was mostly the accent. The people of the southeastern reaches had their own way talking slow and pronouncing every syllable with a bit of stretched pronunciation. But after a few conversations it was easy to understand.

Their route took them through downtown, actually had them passing right by the big warehouse that the Golden Age Weaponsmiths used a showroom and business outlet. They also passed some the best smelling restaurants they had smelled in weeks. Overcome with a juicer's metabolic needs, William purchased a pre-supper snack at a vending cart selling 'authentic southern fried chicken and waffles'. Or three deep fried strips of chicken breast meat served with a decent sized waffle. He didn't want to spoil his meal later so he only ordered two.

The parking lot for the Golden Age Weaponsmiths was about half full, but it was a big lot. A sign read 'surplus needs for all budgets'. The crew realized that was something they would have to look into on the way back from checking out Killian's lead.

Joe Bob Griggs shop was actually the Front Street Pawn Shop and Outfitters. It was a well appointed house turned shop with a neat little yard with several sycamore trees and a big comfy looking swing. There was small paring area and a private driveway off to the side. Oddly enough, the pawn shop was located across the street from a small block building with big double doors. A marque that flashed adds for 'Assault on Levan', 'Three nuns and a Crazy', and 'Splugorth Slave Girls Gone Wild'. The mural on the wall showed a geeky looking man, tall with a bouffant hair do and glasses and the caption 'no one knows movies like Joe Bob Griggs'.

Walking into the shop was a mixture of the local junk for sale pawn brokerage and a Coalition quarter master's supply and requisition office. Everything was for sale, or so the sign said. And there were price tags on the shelves, equipment hooks, and the ceiling tiles to prove it. But it was well stocked.

There was a series of catalogue stacked on a desk with a sign that read 'stuff kept in the locker'. It was mostly heavy personal armor, robot power armor, heavy weapons, items in case lots, and a few vehicles. All items that would take up more space than could be expected in the pawn shop. But there were rows of armors, weapons, explosives, grenades, and boxes of other equipment ranging from medical gear to communications and outdoor equipment. Most of it was Coalition produced, and often current issue, while some of it was the older equipment more recently phased out of common use.

There was other gear as well. A little Northern Gun, some Wilks, a few items from Triax, and so on. The only thing missing for sell was robots. But, there were several in the pawnshop. The robots were all old model Skelebots, armed with built in lasers, vibro-blades, and micro missile packs, and they all bore a name plate bolted to their torso. There was Hubert, Delbert, Albert, Wilbur, and Helga. The word 'staff' was painted on their backs.

There were six other customers in the store, the riders from the group of cyber knights the crew has seen at the road block. They seemed to be interested in the public access charging stations. A sign above the banks of recharges proclaimed 'one free recharge with every $5,000/6,000 cr. purchased'.

"Hello folks," The tall guy from the mural said as walked out of a small cubbyhole with the word 'office' painted on the wall next to it. "I'm Joe Bob Griggs, owner of this fine shop, and a former Coalition Military Specialist looking to really stick to those fascist, black-hearted sons-of-whores. Now, what can I do for you?"

(OOC: anything found in the Rifts Ultimate edition, or any coalition gear from any book could possibly be found for sale here. Prices vary based on used/new, rare/common, in stock/not in stock, etc.)

"How do you feel about the Bushman Armor? They've released a model called the Bushman Trooper that's about 35% stronger but only a little heavier than the Gladiator. Full EBA, mostly molded polymers. Should be easy enough to fit it to whatever shape we want with the gear they have in this town."

The idea seems to worry her somewhat.  Turning the Joe Bob with a slight smile.

The modification needed is for additional sealed sleeve. could be taken from my old suit if design is needed.  But if you know a place that is better able to do that then I'd be pleased to take the advice.

At first Douglas seemed intent on staying out of the argument, but now steps forward with a disarming demeanor.  "It seems to me, friends, that there was some miscommunication or misunderstanding at some point.  Now I'm not one to tell another what they should or should not do, but I don't think this is the time nor place to have this kind of discussion.  This to me seems to be a rather personal topic for conversation, and I don't believe we should disrupt this place of business, nor its clientele.  Perhaps we should make our way somewhere more discrete so as we may continue this in private."

Not quite a magician.  I'm a Techno-empath really, reading and understanding all types of things with just a touch.  Can talk with computers and stuff like that. Nodding to the repurposed Skelebots  in the store, Like those guys I could talk to and program them up by thought, if I touched them.  Hey if you need help with them or others you have about then I could offer that as a service.  And while I was born so ways north of here, my folks aren't from around this place.   Douglas watched the exchange worsen, his expression becoming more confused with every sentence.  At several points he looked about to say something, but didn't.  After Killian left, he just stood silently for a bit, looking perplexed.
"I can't help but feel there was a way to explain things better, but for the life of me, I can't think of it.  That's a shame.  Hopefully we can sort out this misunderstandin' later."
He turned his attention back to Hawkins.  "If it's a good price, I believe we should get some Dog Boy armor sets for Killian.  I'll see if I can talk with him later and try to smooth things out.  I offer no promises though.  Talkin' isn't one of my specialties.  Even if our furry friend won't wear them, I'm sure we can find a use for them.  In regard as to what kind of armor I want, I prefer somethin' with decent protection, but good mobility.  Seein' as how I like to think of myself as the sly, sneaky, trackin', outdoorsman, I like to have the option of stealth when I can.  If we can afford it, a heavier set wouldn't be refused, but I can't guarantee I would wear it every mission.  Somethin' like the Gladiator armor is actually very nice, if'n I can't get somethin' more preferable.  I will need somethin' completely new, however, as my previous suit of armor took so much damage as to have lost all but the most minimum of structural integrity."

(OOC: Willie actually took 1 point of MD to his SDC, after his armor was reduced to 0.  He didn't even notice until he had a chance to clean his armor & weapons after.  His enhanced healing already took care of it. )

Who had teeth that big, that white, and that much on display? "I do have some locally produced lightweight stuff, Dr. McGriff's patented Neo-Fiber. Now, hold on. It's good stuff. He uses these reeds found in the swamp and creates a fabric that can withstand a hell of a lot of abuse. I've been told stories, sources vary in reliability of course, that have claimed surviving laser beams, particle bolts, plasma missiles, a dino stomp, a vibro sword cut, a fragmentation grenade, and a broken heart."

In reply to Hawkins (msg # 69):
He next turns to Hawkins and his question.
Now I can't guarantee anything.  Like I said, my speciality isn't talking, much less convincing anyone to do anything.  I can just promise I'll give it my best attempt.
In regards to that armor, though, that sounds fine to me.  I haven't tried anything particularly heavy for awhile, so it might be a good idea to try it out for a spell.
That 'new-fiber' stuff sounds promising as well.  Maybe a set or two of armored undergarments or the like would be a good idea.
I also recall seeing these rather sturdy looking overcoats out in the Baronies.  They were padded and had plates in some places.  They could be worn over civilian clothing or even over armor.  What do you both make of those?

...now if only he'd brought a neural mace with him. Hindsight is, as they say twenty-twenty and the chopping blade on his hip seemed like it'd be more use.

As for William, he nods in a friendly fashion, pretty patently not blaming the other man and then rolls his eyes, sighing "Tin-plate dumbass didn't get it, did he?" he asks, before laying it out again, for Williams benefit "I earned a share of our take from those fights, and because - now - I'm a free man, not tank-bred cannon fodder there to soak up gunfire that might otherwise singe a real person, I wanted the right to spend that share, how I saw fit, where I saw fit on what I saw fit." - here, he shrugs with seeming nonchalance, as if he's pretty used to having his opinions roundly ignored by humans in general before continuing "Well, it was generally decided that I could go fuck myself and my freedom - for which, let us recall I am under sentence of death if I ever go home and fair enough. I guess I know better than to share now. Once I've got my shit together, we can work on getting home or whatever the fuck it is we're planning on but first, well.   Willy listens carefully & attentively before responding.  "I think I can understand what you mean there friend.  I myself can't figure out when or where the miscommunication occurred.  I do recall a conversation concerning finances and expenses.  As I recollect, it was decided that all repairs, munitions, food, lodging, and other expenses would be paid for first, then the remainder of our funds would be divided evenly.  After all, if we just split the funds right from the start, how would we decide who pays for the expenses of the vehicle?  The intention of this method is to ensure that those of us who need more repairs or resupplies wouldn't be short-handed and have to pay for so called 'business expenses' out of our own pockets.  For example, some of us, like yourself, need extensive repairs, or entirely new armor, while some of us hardly took any hits at all.  It's just the nature of combat.  It just isn't fair if those hit hardest are then required to repair or replace their equipment at their own expense.  That's the logic behind it, anyway.  Once everyone has their essentials provided for again, the remainder was to be equally distributed.  I sincerely believe that nobody is trying to rob anyone here, just a misunderstanding."

"I had no problem - none - with fixing our ride first. I have no problem - none - with patching someone up or de-cursing them or otherwise un-fucking anything we get them fucked up with." Killian states flatly and simply - refusing to get angry about it while simply giving his side of things "And I understood the logic then, and now. But we're not talking 'repairs'. We're talking 'oh hey, you may have had some money coming but we're just replacing your kit for you instead, be a good little boy and take it'. I'm not here for that. I'm happy to take a lowball share and do my own damn' shopping and I don't much care if that's unfair because if it is, like you just observed, it's unfair to me more than most anyone."

Jennifer Long:
Replying to Douglas before he goes off for his conversation with the Dog Boy. Jen nods and offers a little bit of a smile.

Yeah, once we get weapons sorted we can see what we can get involved in.  Personally I'm fine with what I have, the JA-11 is a solid rifle and the vibro bracer sorts out up close.  Natural ability pulls up any other slack if needed for me.

"Shouldn't take long if we can find a gun shop that is similar to this place. I think Nutball and Book had some things they want to look for."

Re: Jennifer and Hawkins do Huntsville...figuratively

In reply to Killian (msg # 92):

Willy likewise wasn't getting upset, but did seem a little confused as he attempted to explain his side of the situation more clearly.
"I'm not trying to minimize your own troubles, expenses, or hardships.  Lord knows you need new armor and more ammunition after those encounters, and you may have started with the least of both amongst all of us.  At this point, however, I feel it is necessary to inform or remind you of the situation for the rest of us, or at least a few prime examples that I hope will make my point clear."

"You're not the only one of us that your idea of distribution would be unfair to.  Jennifer and I both took enough damage directly to our protective apparel that it is easier, simpler, and cheaper to replace them entirely.  My own armor was completely annihilated by the end of our encounter with those no good slavers, and I even took some damage to my person directly.  Thankfully, my artificially enhanced physique is able to withstand a fair bit more punishment than your average human, and my augmented metabolism is able to heal even major wounds at an impressive rate."

"On top of that, several of us make use of weapons with non-renewable munitions that are more expensive to replace than simply recharging or replacing energy clips and canisters.  I'm speaking, of coarse, about the various explosives that Hawkins, Nutball, and myself deploy.  Now although these weapon systems are not the cheapest to operate, the ability to dispense impressive amounts of firepower to entire groups of opponents simultaneously and quickly make such weapons indispensable to combatants such as ourselves, especially when there are so few of us to engage the enemy."

"Now, you, being an experienced battlefield combatant yourself, would obviously know this, and understand the benefits of having and using such ordinance.  That is why it confuses me that you seem so dead set on each of us financing our own armor, weapons, and munitions.  The few of us that take the most damage or use the most firepower would quickly become bankrupt, which would only lead to our team being deprived of their full combat capabilities.  It would unnecessarily weaken us as an effective combat force."

"The alternative that was agreed upon, however, would ensure that everyone's necessities are taken care of first and foremost.  After all, you can't control who will get shot at by the enemy, nor who will even get a chance to dispense firepower upon our targets.  Maintaining the defensive and offensive capabilities of every member of the entire team is quite simply in the best interest of the entire team as a whole, as well as each individual.  It's just makes sense.  Otherwise, some of us, like you, Jennifer, and myself, could find ourselves without enough funds to even eat, much less replace all our armor and ammo.  I, myself, find I need an entire new set of armor, full recharges on more than half my extensive e-clip supply, and replacements for most of my explosives, a combined cost that I doubt I could afford on my own."

"Lastly, a point to take into consideration.  A larger mercenary company would be paid as a unit, and pay its members a set salary, likely with extra pay for various reason.  The company would cover the cost of repairs, munitions, and all other necessities, and then pay its soldiers.  Even if it had a profit sharing program, those profits would only be distributed after all other expenses are settled first.  We're simply trying to use a similar model, on a smaller scale.  Once everyone is combat ready again, we'll all get an equal share of the remaining funds, including you."

Re: Jennifer and Hawkins do Huntsville...figuratively

"No, I get it. I really do. The difference between magical and practical logistics are something the Coalition hammer on day in, day out - how much more dangerous magical logistics are on the tactical level, and how much weaker they are on the strategic is a cornerstone of Coalition doctrine." the wolf answers calmly, after listening - and he does indeed, listen - "And I am not insisting on equal shares, I am not insisting on cutting out anyone who's lost gear, I am not insisting on everyone taking a share and I am not even insisting on replacing everything I lost. All I want is the right to do my own damn' shopping to my own damn preferences, to which end I was happy to take a lowball cut on what my rough take would be and to go and do said shopping. I don't even give a shit if I'm handing back receipts and unspent cash at the end of the day."

A beat, and he shrugs "Instead, as mentioned, fuck me and the horse I rode in on. Well, okay. If that's how it works then that's how it works. It's not like I'm used to better.", then motions to Bob as if to request to be shown the lockers.

Re: Jennifer and Hawkins do Huntsville...figuratively

Joe Bob disappears for several minutes and comes back with three things in a box and sets them on a table of mundane uniform items for Killian to investigate. The first item in the box was a custom tool kit. The second was a pair of shop coveralls with the logo 'Joe Bob Griggs - Nobody has better deals' on the back. The last item was one of those swamp guides published outside the swamp that was supposed to be a 'definitive guide to the dinosaur swamps'.

(OOC: Killian this is your 'stuff' to use to locate Hanson. Use whatever skills or abilities you want to gain some clues for this fugitive recovery. Make the rolls you need and put them in your post stating what you are doing and give me an idea of what you hope to gain. We will go from there. Thanks.)

Re: Jennifer and Hawkins do Huntsville...figuratively

Pretty much the first thing Killian does is spend several minutes sniffing the coverall, particularly at the neck and wrists where it would have been most likely to come into contact with skin - this includes the question "Do you mind if I take this?" which, if affirmative sees him put the garment (or any other strong source of the mans scent) into a ziplock baggy*.

Using his uniform gloves, he flips through the magazine (for what it's worth), then checks to see if it opens on any particular page and finally... Well, finally he gets to the tools and frowns, almost immediately asking "This guy, Griggs. If he's good enough to have custom tools, he's good enough not to leave them behind, isn't he?"

* There is in fact, no roll for identifying someone's scent on 'a thing' for reference purposes. I start rolling if and when I'm ID'ing that person or tracking them, and I do so every thousand feet or so.

Joe Bob shrugged and said, "That's all that was left. The coveralls were hanging on a nail back in the prep area. The tools and magazine were in the pockets."

Re: Jennifer and Hawkins do Huntsville...figuratively

After listening to Killian's response, DW turns back to the others, shrugging his shoulders in resignation.  "Well, it seems to me, the best we can do at this point is either leave him to fend for himself, buy him equipment he might never use, or hand over some cash for him to make his own purchases.  'Least, that's what I can figure.  In my opinion, that first option is an automatic negatory.  The second option seems a tad tyrannical to me.  The third option may not be what we all agreed upon, but I'm outta ideas.  Of coarse, that might be on account of the empty state of my stomach.  I don't know too many people who think at their best when hungry.  What do ya'll think of all this?"

Re: Jennifer and Hawkins do Huntsville...figuratively

When Book steps outside (He'll have to do that to talk to Jenn and Hawkins. Theresa and Nutball should be out there by now as well) Hawkins is looking at the door.

"I could hear the whole conversation. You did the best you could and he made his decision."

"Can't trust a guy that doesn't consider himself subject to agreements we make the first time he gets a whim.

"He can take the gear that we left in there for him or not. He can swap his e-clips with Joe-Bob like I arranged or not. I got no more energy to spend on a grown ass sentient being that won't listen to reason."

"Besides, he called me a thief three times and I didn't rip his head off. I'm calling it even."

He looked around.

"Y'all ready to go gun shopping? I'm ready to get that done and move onto checking out the potential work Nuts found."

Leaning back, Killian raises his voice to call out "Just in case you forgot, I didn't agree to anything. You want to put a couple thousand credit truth tax on descriptions though, sure long as you sleep better at night for it." before he goes back to what he's doing.

 Oh, right.

 Dog Boys hear good too!

Grumpy fuckers as well, or so it seems.

For now though, he's asking Bob "These look pretty high-end. Anything likely to be on this computer and any way we can access it? And what do these say... Looks like he's been taking notes." - turning the magazine towards the other man, showing him where it's been marked.

Jen shrugs, not party to the full conflicted conversation and not really caring for it either.

Yeah, we should get the gun shopping done and then hit food.  While not nearly as in need as Douglas or others with augmentation, I could really do with something.  The jobs can get a work on after that.  Sure there will be something for us to do, we've got a good spread of skills in the group.  Hell could even help out collectors by reading psychic impressions from objects to give them an idea of what stuff is, that's part of what I signed on for with the original expedition.

Willy gives a casual shrug as he responds.  "Mostly I just require recharges and explosives.  My other weapons were left in my ride back in Colorado."
"As for Killian, I don't presume to understand his reasoning, but it's his choice to make.  Maybe he doesn't understand how democratic votin' works.  Maybe he just don't care.  Maybe it's somethin' else.  Granny used to say 'It's no use fussin' over other folks' thinkin'.  I do believe it's high time we moved on though.  As Jennifer so eloquently stated, we have a wide variety of skills at our disposal, and a will to use them, so I say we make inroads towards gainful work."
He turns to Nutball & Theresa as he asks, "Will you two be joining us for the next part of our resupply endeavors?"
