Responding to Machk's suggestion...

"I'm not waitin, don't know how long they'll be.  I'd suggest leavin a note or maybe talkin the 'machine' into alerting them somehow."

He pauses by the door, looking to see who else might be joining them, or if someone is going to interface with the house to leave a message for the three who'd left to go have their somethings somethinged.

Winter had spent much of the meeting simply listening, as others asked the questions that she was interested in, but rose to her feet to follow along quietly. There was a slight expression of annoyance on her face at Cordelia's last statement, however.

Kenneth, his loaded plate in one hand and his drink in the other, made his way over to the wooden chairs, set his things down, then promptly shrugged off his coat and placed it carefully over the back of the chair he had chosen.

"She doesn't mince words, does she?" he spoke up with a hint of a grin "Well, at least the words I could understand...felt like I needed a dictionary." he added and popped another savory morsel into his mouth, which he chewed a bit too casually.

All of the others, Nathaniel, Blake, Alana, Natsuki with her dog, and Cathal, will join you on the roof after refreshing their drinks. Natsuki will also have a plate of food with her.
When Alana reaches the roof her falcon will take to the air and fly off.
< The meeting in the Library would have taken about 40 minutes.
By the time everyone has refreshed their drinks, grabbed food and made their way to the roof it's going to be about 4am.

"I dunno man, to me she's comin across as vague an parsimonious with her answers, but when giving orders or settin 'the agenda', yeah, she's right on point.  She might have good reasons, some of this is pretty involved an we were pullin in every direction with questions.  But when I met her she refused to even tell me her name for a bit, so it might also just be her nature."

When they reach the roof Machk heads over to the area with tables and chairs and gingerly tests one of the wooden deck lounge chairs.  Seemingly satisfied it would collapse under him, he sets his plate next to him and pops a sausage roll into his mouth, chews twice and swallows.

"Okay, so other worlds with divergent histories are a thing, as are worlds where the laws of physics as we might know them are radically different.  At least that's what I've been told.  Magic is real, so is this 'Pattern' power, which might just be a puffed up way of sayin 'magic'."

"No Magic is a completely separate entity and as I understand things inferior to both the Pattern and Logrus, and both can be used to both destroy and augment it. I think doing the latter is complicated but the former as I understand things is easy."

The conversation had already started when Rhiannon and Cathal joined the others on the roof. What she overheard was Machk confirming the reality of magic and alternate dimensions. Cathal - who apparently also overheard him -  had a different take, making a clear distinction between magic and pattern power. Rhiannon wasn't so sure that there was really a difference in that distinction, but since Cordelia could be quite particular when it suited her, getting down the vocabulary was a good idea.

"So, what's this conversation about?" She wanted to see if they had an objective before letting the discussion devolve into the same chaos she observed in the library. "Hopefully it's to make sure we all understand this the same way."
