Revolt features five heritages for player characters to pick from. Until traditional games these five races are what is left after the beast races have taken over.
The Freefolk
A collective term to describe the races that still exist after the scourge. Each race has a few thousands of their kind left. Some races such as gnomes, treants and lizardfolk were killed off during the scourge. Leaving behind the broken races that are left. The only races that did not exist before the scourge was the Shifters who have recently rose up against the beast races.
Humans have become nomadic roamers, scavenging the remnants of their lost settlements to survive.
Elves guard ancient wisdom and strive to restore balance by reclaiming lost knowledge buried within the desolate expanse.
Dwarves have carved subterranean cities, fiercely guarding their craftsmanship and forging weapons underground.
Halflings reside in hidden enclaves within ruined cities, employing engineering skills to repurpose remnants of civilization for survival.
Shifters act as guardians of the natural world, navigating the dangerous terrain and aiding the resistance as scouts and messengers.
While tensions among the races are high from being hunted, they are still friendly to one another as they have to be to survive.

Equipment:
Savaging - Rather than giving you a list your hero has managed to find a number of things in the world left behind from the previous people. Each hero should use the following to determine their equipment:
- Pick either light or medium armor, none is also an option
- Pick one weapon you found in decent condition
- Decide if you are carrying a small or big bag
- Pick five small items you have found on your adventures
- You start with 20 Silver pieces as listed in the main book
