Cumarinda stands beside her husband, looking at the scene before them. Turning to address Fenris, she asks, "Shall we cross the bridge or go another way?"

"In a sewer? No, I tend to focus on more urban dwellings where I can relieve people of funds and items that they don't deserve to have and deposit them with those who do," Riceak responded as he stared at the bridge and then the warforged. The obvious question that was on his mind was very obvious.

Forge looks at the bridge, and to Fenris...
"If need be I can cross first and see if the bridge will hold for us to go one at a time."

Forge looks for an anchor point for his endless spool of rope to make sure it is safe....

Cumarinda replied to Riceak with a knowing smile, "There are times when I wish I could fully punish the greedy while uplifting the needy. I do my best within the boundaries of my faith, knowledge and skill, to help the innocent and the good, trusting that Pelor will see justice is served."


Looking to both Fenris and Forge before looking out over the makeshift bridge. "Perhaps we should  look closer at the bridge, then together consider our plans to cross it. I'm concerned that it might not support Forge's crossing by himself or any of the two of us."

"Yeah, faith can be great for a lot of things, but sometimes it can be quite constraining when making sure a wrong is righted," responded Riceak as they looked over the bridge. While the warforged offer to go first, the halfling already started shaking his head back and forth.

"Perhaps we should go lightest to heaviest to test the sturdiness of the bridge."

"Perhaps it is just intended for convience rather than for necessity."

Forge moves in for a closer look and to see how deep the whatever may be.

The barbarian scouts the area but remains close. He looks down into the depths below and whistles before moving back. The cleric seems to have seen it as well but not sure what it is or if the group is in trouble. All that is given to the group is something lurks at the bottom, maybe 30' down a waterfall right after the bridge. Almost goo-like hanging there as the water passes through but some of the debree gets clung to it.

After, Fenris checks out the bridge. It seems sturdy for him and watches the warforge for a moment then grunts as he hears the cleric and spellthief talk. Two ways to go other then the way they came. Or down the waterfall into darkness....

Well heck she married a barbarian! That doesn't go against faith then what does!

Unfortunatly for the spellthief he tumbles off the bridge and falls into the odd entity. His entire budy hits it and slowly begins to dissolve. The barbarian watches for a moment and grunts.

"Nooooo!  Why did the short one move forward?  That slime seems dangerous, yet if content to live from debris and garbage it is ok...I believe there should have been a warning sign for such a danger....."

The Warforge pauses, though he does not actually need to do so....

"Why did the worker not warn us of such a thing in a waterfall?"

"I don't know if the worker clearly remembered everything that he saw. Obviously he was quite disturbed." the cleric observed.
"Fenris, you are the best tracker I know, I think we should avoid that slime. Which way do you think we should go? Please lead on."

The warrior grunts as he stares down at the halfling that doesn't exist. He steps back and goes to the door on the left for a moment as if examing it then the one on the right. He kneels down putting his hand down for a moment and glances at the warforged and human before standing up and goes to open the door but pauses and leans against the wall still his hand upon it. He whistles and opens it up. And it does open into a corridor that is lit up with torches. Odd.  Just a simple 5' area going down and curving to the right. He grabs his sword and steps inside but waits for the others.

"Seems the course is set with Fenris at the helm."

Forge follows through the door into the chamber beyond,

The cleric quickly follows behind Fenris, alongside Forge.

The tunnel goes down quiet a bit and leads into a larger area. Straight ahead it looks like a similar tunnel that hooks around-probably the other door location from above. Another river goes alongside the tunnel. Across the water is a door and a bridge similar to the one seen before. A large hole, maybe 15' across is above the river perhaps from dumping down garbage. Its pretty well lit with torches. Fenris seems hesitant "Don't like it." His eyes narrow  as if expecting some sort of trap. Its damp, dirty but not really cold.

Forge moves up near Fenris....he points some directions and asks the barbarian

"Do we want to follow the stream and see what is down from here?  Straight up to the door? as it might lead to a nearer exit?  I am heavy and the bridge does not look so sturdy.  What do you both think?"

For the last question he looks back and forth to the couple.

Cumarinda looks to Forge and nods in agreement. She turns to look to Fenris and asks, "Which way would you like to go, Fenris?"

"Doesn't matter. Lost trail." The barbarian stares at the cleric. He kneels down, pushing some of the debree aside. He looks down then looks straight ahead "Check it out. Brings us back up." Fenris stands back up. He goes to the river and looks around the area gripping his blade. His eyes narrow as he scans the door but keeps away. He turns back to the others and heads over to them "Door is open. Slightly."

"If the door is ajar, then we can open it without too much trouble.  Shall I open the door?"

Forge looks at the barbarian to see if that was his intention in reporting on the door.

Cumarinda unconsciously nods to Forge's question, immediately she then looks for Fenris's response. "I think whatever we do from here forward, we should be extremely careful." she said, after listening to her husband's reply.

"You speak both wisdom and truth, lady.  We have already witnessed a very dangerous thing lurking right over there."

Forge points back towards the slime that can dissolve a whole person...

A bit frustrated as he is no leader, Fenris waits for the two to decided-the door across that is slighty open, across from them and upwards or follow the river (or go against it). Four ways to go. No one made a move and he seems to get a bit aggrivated. They lost the poor halfling. Three left. He grips his sword and stares at the cleric and paladin.

"If you would please, Forge, open the door." asked Cumarinda after casting Guidance upon the paladin.

"Absolutely, yes.  I will open the door."

Forge begins to carefully cross the bridge to the door that is currently ajar....

The barbarian follows, watching the cleric and paladin. Forge felt something holding the door but he gives it a good push. As the paladin gets it open, there is blood on the floor. Recent it seems. Against the door is a dead man. His eyes are open wide as if staring at something above. The corridor is about 30' and stops at another closed door. There doesn't seem to be any river or water here. And the walls seem to be the same as everywhere else but they seem damp and dirty-typical for a sewer. The man looks to be unarmed and at quick glance doesn't seem to have anything. Fenris grips his sword waiting for Forge.

Forge arms himself looking for any threats....

"I believe this man is beyond our aid, and I cannot say what may have wounded him so that he bled to death."

He nods to the cleric to allow her to examine the body.

Without touching him, Cumarinda is going to examine him to determine the cause of death. She warns before she begins her examination, "Everyone should keep their eyes and ears open for foes that may be lingering on the walls like the one we saw before."

While briefly examining the body, she pauses to take a good look around for anything unusual or that might be moving towards them.
