Chapter 2: A dish best served cold

Torlek focuses on one of the skeletons but in a matter of seconds the team has removed most of the threat he blasts one of the skeletons into the wall. At that is left is one zombie which stands shambling in front of the team closest to Torlek. The creature hungry reaches it's arms out to the mage trying to claw at him with very feeble attempts.

OOC: You removed all of the threat in one round so combat is over. Anyone who wants to deal with the last one can just narrate themselves.

Chapter 2: A dish best served cold

In reply to Zyphus (msg # 42):

Keeping the torch held high to provide light for everyone, Skyfro take a quick step and a spin kick to eliminate the last zombie.

I'd say that was entirely unexpected, but... he inclines the torch towards Mina, "It wasn't. Salonius, can you see any sign of what rose these up?"

Salonius turns to the half-orc and blinks. "I would suspect that they were already animated through necromancy," he says, looking a bit puzzled. "They likely were waiting here for us, but to what end, it is hard to say. Perhaps we can quickly search these graves for signs, yes?"

He will do so, looking for any more information that would disprove his assumption or add any more detail as to why someone left a room full of undead waiting for them.

In reply to Salonius Spes (msg # 47):

"Before we run around looking at everything and leaving our footprints all over, let us give Gerard a chance to check if anyone has been down here before us." Like maybe the sheriff who sent us down here but couldn't come with us.

"As a little girl, I saw three boys go into the cemetery and kick on a tombstone until it fell over. The Dead Person got angry and rose up out of the soil," Mina answers Skyfro, "It killed one of the boys while the others ran away."

Chapter 2: A dish best served cold

During the search you turn up some clothing that is left in the corner of the tomb. When you examine the rob it appears to be a robe of bones that was discarded. Also while looking through you find that one of the tombs contained Ezakien's body was been opened and unlike the rest of the tombs, his body is missing.

In reply to Zyphus (msg # 51):

Skyfro carefully provides Gerard with the light he needs to do his search. When the robe and empty crypt are discovered he watches with interest. "Does anyone know who this person was and why someone might have taken the body?" he pauses "Or why the body left on it's own, I guess given what we've seen here."

Chapter 2: A dish best served cold

Gerard doesn't find much in the tomb that wasn't already discovered. However, towards the front of the entrance to the tomb he finds a number of curious tracks that lead him to believe goblins with another set that looks very much like a human-like foot. Other than that, the tomb itself is fairly empty.

OOC: You can make Common Knowledge checks if you have history or something along those lines.

Skyfro looks at the empty casket and the design.

"I think I heard the name mentioned by one of the locals before everything went wrong. I didn't catch what they were talking about, but this,"
he gestures at the casket, "Looks like the resting place of someone important."

11:25, Today: Skyfro rolled 2,5 using 1d4,1d6, rerolling max ((2,5)).
Rolled well but I've already established Skyfro doesn't know who he is, so I figured some color to jog others' memories.

She keep her spear ready and stays alert in case something else happens while the others are investigating and considering various scenarios for what has transpired here in the crypt.

Mina remains where she stands, but looks down at the non-Goblin footprints with a puzzled expression evident on her face. She wonders, why wouldn't there be Human footprints in the crypt of the town consisting of mostly Humans? Does the archer notice something unusual about these Human footprints he left unmentioned?

She comments to no one in particular, "So, the Goblins took a dead person? Maybe that is the reason why the Dead People were angry at the living."

Salonius cocks his head but shakes it. "No, fell magic was almost certainly used to animate them, small one. The key question is: who would have done so?

"Well, regardless, we should press inwards. I'll lead the way again, if you like."
And, if nobody objects, he will do so.

Mina looks at the Holy Man as he retorts her statement. An annoyed expression forms on her face. She glances down at the noticeably shorter Gnome and then back up at the lanky Human. It's like he goes out of his way to rub her the wrong way every time he speaks to her.

Torlek and Skyfro remembers hearing about Ezakien Tobyn from the announcement today. He was the previous religious leader but that's all you can gather from your thoughts. It seems to gather more information you might need to talk to someone who might have knowledge of this religious leader.

From the map it doesn't look like there's anything else to this crypt. Is that correct?
