Re: OOC Community Chat 4

2: The hole is currently opened on the ground, so that everyone can root through it for the stuff we found in the room after the staircase.

3: The scepter? I thought we had to use that with the dagger?

5: Kahan will stay towards the back-middle, especially now that he can only use one hand. He'll usually be carrying his shield unless stated otherwise (unless I can tie the shield around his wrist or something to free up the other hand).

Re: OOC Community Chat 4

Since Marcus healed him, he can use both hands now.  However, he still has angered the gods and cannot heal for the rest of the day.

The dagger was used with the skeletal guardian, which still holds the dagger.

I believe the sceptre was last in Borimer's possession, but I could be wrong.

Heath:
2- Who has possession of the portable hole?

Until just recently, Kahan was carrying it. Now Adaran is carrying it in his cloak.

Heath:
3- Who has possession of the Ikishi Sceptre?

This was last placed with Bernard's body in the coffin when he was resurrected on the conveyor. If no one else picked it up after that, then Adaran would have.

Heath:
5- What is the party marching order?

Adaran will stay back at the rear for the time being.

Re: OOC Community Chat 4

I think it's fair to say that, unless it's specifically important later on, that it would have stayed in the coffin as we all forgot about it. Skeleton attacks tend to do that to people. ;)

There's no way Adaran is leaving that scepter behind, if someone else hasn't already retrieved it. When the opportunity comes, he'll reveal why it's still important.

I think Borimer would have retrieved the sceptre.  He originally possessed it.  So let's go with that.

In case you guys are interested, I made a list of all the possible combinations of letters from the dials. Would you prefer all of them, or the ones that seem like words?

If you're going to do mass trial and error with the words, then you can do up to 5 words per round.

However, let me add that I'm not sure how this will work with turning the dials.

How does this word list work?  For example, how do you get "TSIASE" on the dial?

Re: OOC Community Chat 4

I was assuming that you go straight across, i.e., take both letters from the dials.

Right now, to me, it says, TSIA, then the 3rd dial is turned oblong so it would have to be fixed.

Actually, technically it was Draaz who originally carried both the scepter and the dagger.

Kahan Singh:
"If you turn the knob, I'll push the dials in." Kahan replies to Adaran, getting ready to do so should the rogue agree.

Adaran is most likely going to agree IC, but I'll wait OOC to allow others a chance to have their say before I post again.

Just a preview.  From here on out, it's going to take a degree of effort on my part, so I'm getting prepped...

I was going to hide it, but thought you may enjoy a look at it.  I designed this map myself, rather than take an existing one.

Re: OOC Community Chat 4

Time and again, people ask me how I pass out experience points:  Primarily, there is a base party score, and then I add or subtract on various areas, including:

1- Consistent posting, participation and roleplay (most important)
2- Imaginative thinking, creative problem solving or use of skills
3- Meeting objectives
4- Player and NPC interaction
5- Making my work as DM as easy as possible (giving me important details, THAC0, keeping track of character, etc.)

Typically, the range will be plus or minus up to 15 percent from the party base score, with a total range of top and bottom character of no more than 30%.

However, this could be different in cases where the party splits up for any extended period, such as happened when Grizz, Borimer, and Adaran died and had their own little side adventure.

Re: OOC Community Chat 4

I just realized - Adaran has the scepter. Msg #3 in The Way of the Dead (has never been edited either, in case that's what you're thinking):

Adaran Swiftshadow:
Adaran takes the scepter from Borimer, but instead of taking out the Portable Hole, he shakes his head and produces one of his cloak's magic disappearing sacks, replying, "We might want it handier. Fetching it from the hole takes longer. Besides, if Tarimar captures us, he can snatch the hole from us - but he can't find this sack." Placing the scepter in the sack, he stashes it under his cloak and its mass immediately vanishes.

Studying the bone-symbols on the walls for a few moments, he turns to Azaron and says, "Can you have Zhou translate those symbols?"
