(Game idea by Ikyu Gyet 27 Oct 2008)
This game is in Testing status, which means you are encouraged to provide input and discussion regarding rules changes. When you think the game is ready to graduate from Testing or ready to move to the trash, say so in Suggestions and we'll vote on it. This notice will be removed when the thread leaves testing.
Just like the game Mastermind, but ASWOT style. (Ikyu will edit this post as the rules evolve.)
Here they are! As promised. If you haven't played Mastermind, well here's your chance... ASWoT style! xD
Mastermind Rules
Object of the Game
The Code Master picks a sequence of 5 letters and places the sequence in his Scratchpad. The players then take turns trying to guess the code.
The object of the game is to guess the letters and the exact positions of those letters in the Code Master's sequence.
Rules
1. The sequence can contain any letter from the English alphabet, a-z.
2. A letter can be used any number of times in the sequence.
3. All 5 spaces of the secret sequence will contain a letter - no blanks/empties are allowed.
4. Each guess must consist of 5 letters - no blanks.
5. The game continues until the code is discovered, where upon discovery, the discoverer becomes the new Code Master.
Posting:
6. 1 guess per post, no multi-posts until 24 hours have passed.
Scoring
For each guess, the Code Master will say how many letters are correct and how many are in the correct position. If no letters are in the correct position then the Code Master will just say how many letters are correct.(1-2-3-4-5) If all 5 letters are correct and are in the correct positions, then a discovery has been made and the discoverer becomes the new Code Master.
If the codemaster has not responded to guesses within 1 week, consider the code obsolete and a new codemaster may post a new code.
