Puzzle Rooms IX

(Idea by Dollsteak)

In this game, one player makes up a "room" (or island or hallwqay or whatever) that uses some sort of puzzle to get out or find a treasure or some goal like that, or puzzles put into some sort of action to solve.

Puzzles that are just puzzles with no interaction should generally be posted in the Riddles & Puzzles thread.

If the player who posted the current puzzle does not respond within one week, send them a PM to remind them.  After a month, just assume that puzzle is dead and start a new one.

Current puzzle, from LuLu:

1. Alice in Wonderland

2. Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy

3. Hansel and Gretel

4. A wolf, a bat, and a dagger

All four pertain to their own story, each story pertains to a word

1. A seven lettered word that has to do with it's story __ _U_ __ _I_ _O_ _U_ __

2. A seven lettered word that has to do with it's story _A_ __ __ __ _E_ __ __

3. A four lettered word that has to do with it's story __ _O_ __ __

4. __ __ __ __

Re: Puzzle Rooms IX

Hey, Heath.  These rules seem to conflict with how we actually use the thread.  We now have Timewaster Dungeoneering to do what this thread was supposed to do.

Re: Puzzle Rooms IX

Really, why didn't you put Panicking for the second word? It would have been easier to guess... Or Arthur... or Prefect... or Improbability...

Re: Puzzle Rooms IX

In reply to Yoss (msg # 2):

Actually, Dungeoneering can indeed overlap here, but Dungeoneering is a bit more expansive and was actually meant to have more roleplay to go along with the puzzles, if it even has a puzzle at all.

The definition of this thread is a bit misleading since we've always just used it for posting puzzles and not "rooms."  That's just left over from when it was initially posted by despyzer.

Re: Puzzle Rooms IX

This puzzle seems pretty hard to me.  We might need more letter clues.

Re: Puzzle Rooms IX

3 as Hansel and Gretel could be pork, cork, or fork...   the witch was really into eating after all.

I can't even hope to tell what 4 is, knowing a letter in that would make life so much easier...

In reply to Yoss (msg # 9):

I don't think it could be "cook" because she only gave us one vowel

In reply to Heath (msg # 11):

Why does that matter?  Did she give us all the vowels?  If so, does #4 have all consonants?

She said she was giving us all the vowels, so I'm going by that...

You closed the previous thread mid-puzzle, so her comment didn't come over to this thread.  She said:

I don't know the last story.  I wonder if it's some more recent teenager book like Twilight or one of those...

Re: Puzzle Rooms IX

A wolf, a bat, and a dagger is probably an older book.  LuLu has a thing for long lost, and dead lores, languages, and the like.  I doubt it's new fangled like twilight considering this in the very least.  However I think we'll all be in the dark till she is well again.  What ever hit this family hit it very hard, in 24 hours everybody was horrifically sick.  We don't have enough bathrooms for this ...

Re: Puzzle Rooms IX

1. Alice in Wonderland

2. Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy

3. Hansel and Gretel

4. Twilight [I may like the long lost, but I also like irony and tricks]

All four pertain to their own story, each story pertains to a word

1. A seven lettered word that has to do with it's story _C_ _U_ _R_ _I_ _O_ _U_ _S_

2. A seven lettered word that has to do with it's story _A_ __ __ __ _E_ __ __

3. A four lettered word that has to do with it's story __ _O_ __ __

4. A four lettered word that has to do with it's story __ _E_ _A_ __

There, all of the words have all of their vowels filled in, and the first word is already answered-- By the way none of the guesses for the second or third word were correct, hahahaha

I can't believe I got Twilight right.  The benefits of having a teenaged daughter...

I think we'll need help on the actual words though.

:CLUES:
1. If you read the book, Alices' whole 'this keeps getting curiouser and curiouser' happened more toward the beginning and end, and had no real connection to how her actions went about in the story

2. As for Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, it was something that everyone kept searching for, and it was the reason for the panic, and it was the reason for the supercomputers' existence, so just ask yourself, what were they all searching for?

3. It's what led to them finding the witches' house, it had nothing to do with the witch herself

4. It's just so easy! Think vampire, think __ E A __, c'mon
