Hey PIA. Considering my name is CL-blah blah blah. Heath runs the game, he offered if anyone wanted to play to sign up when he made the game.

Re: Follow Up

It looks like we have a few people who are temporarily away.

Like an idiot, I went on vacation and grabbed the wrong laptop -- the one with no wifi.  So I've had no Internet for awhile.

Re: Follow Up

I have a question about perversity points.

Is it possible that in trying to help a roll you make it exceed the target thus causing bad things to happen, even though you were trying to help the roll?

Re: Follow Up

Theoretically, yes.  But for me, a success is a success.  The main danger with too much success relates to the tension level.

As a reminder, the tension level shows how closely The Computer is monitoring your actions.  Ideally, the Computer would monitor all actions, but resources don't permit it, though you have a pretty good idea of how closely you are being monitored at any given time (hence, I tell you the "tension level" of each room).

For example, if it is tension level 3, and you roll a 6 but used 5 perversity points, you have now gone down to a 1, which is within the tension level (rolling 3 or lower).  Thus, you have attracted the attention of the Computer with your action.  If your action can be deemed treasonous in any way, SOMEBODY has seen it, whether a secret society member, IntSec, or the Computer itself.  It then becomes evidence against you.  If it is a secret society member and you just succeeded at something your secret society wants, then tension level can act to help for a promotion for you.

It goes both ways.

Re: Follow Up

has the magnificent Computer already rolled that d20 for us, or do I still need to do it myself, saving The Computer's valuable time?

I will likely be unable to update for a while.  My aunt is gravely ill and is currently in hospice care, I'll be driving 1500 miles to be with her for the next week or two.

Re: Follow Up

Does anyone have any rules questions?  Questions about your specific mutations?  Let me know because I'm trying to get those all done this weekend.

New mutation descriptions will be posted shortly.

If we did, would we ask them?  Knowledge of the rules is treason!

Re: Follow Up

Good point!

But seriously, I know some people had questions about what their initial mutations are and how they work.  So things affecting what your character should intuitively know are okay to know.
