Games For Beginners

Hello! I'm looking for someone who will allow me to join their game and teach me how to play. I'm up for any sort of style or game as it will all be new to me, as long as you wouldn't mind me getting confused from time to time. :) I have lots of stories I can pull out for different situations or themes. Please message me if you'd like me in your game! Any genre is okay with me.

What kind of game are you looking for? Roleplay-heavy? Combat and adventure? Fast-paced or slow? Are you looking for a game to start new that's beginner-friendly or something that's been running for a while?

In reply to Drackler (msg # 2):

My only requirement is that, regardless of previous runtime, the older players would be alright with catching me up to speed. I've never had any experience with any of these games before, so I'm really willing to try anything. I find value in any kind of story, and I don't mind having intense combat, or more casual character development, or fast-paced game, or maybe a slower-type game. I'm not picky about it, just looking for my first experience. :)

Maybe you want to start with a solo game to learn the ropes first?

I'm running a game called Hopper.

Your character is you.

The premise of the game is that you are given an opportunity to take a series of "tests".  If you succeed at the tests you are given full access to the technology that you've been using to help accomplish the tests.

The game uses the Hero System 5th Ed. Revised rules.

There WILL be combat, but not nearly as much as in Dungeons and Dragons. The system is a more role-play centered set of rules.

I've been running this game, for groups, in person for many years and everybody seems to enjoy playing.  EVERYTHING that you know can be used "in-game", thus the only "out-of-game" knowledge your character could possibly have, is stuff that happens in-game that your character didn't observe.

The title says it all.  The game is like combining: Stargate SG-1 + Dr. Who + Sliders + Sucker Punch (the Movie).

Yaztromo had a good suggestion, maybe a solo type game might work to help you learn the ropes but if you wanted here is the link for games looking for players link to another game in there you can review and the games currently looking for players, the type of game it is, some have intros you can read and see what it is all about.

Just read through them and see if any might peak your interest.  Also, make sure you can join them too, there are rules on joining certain types  Adult, Mature...  be sure you understand these rules as this will determine what games you can join as well.

Hope you find something to join or a GM here to guide you through.

Thanks for the advice. I've tried many kinds of "solo" experiences but none of them really felt like I was playing the game I wanted. Right now I'm looking for a more social experience.

Thank you :)
As I said to Yaztromo, right now I'm looking for a social game, as I have played solo games in the past, but felt they lacked the role play I wanted. So in terms of role play, I have no experience with these game formats for social play, but I do have a small grasp on characters, stats, and such. I will browse for some games I might like to play. And if I am being honest, I am a little scared to offer myself because of my low experience, lol .

I saw this game being advertised...

link to a message in another game

It is a community and has different types, maybe this might help a smaller group of players?

Good luck to you!!!!
