I have the Core Book but haven’t played yet. I’m an Old School DM but I’d like to play this first before becoming a Narrator, even if it’s a one-shot. That way I can get the hang of how it works (and how well it works) before starting my own campaign.

I have a PDF of the playtest rules, but have no clue what changed. Marvel has yet to release the full game in PDF.

Unfortunately they don't intend to release it as a pdf the only electronic version is linked to roll20 so you can't use it unless you use roll20......

As for the game if there is a gm out there I'd be interested in playing

They’ve made substantial changes. No more botch rolls. Power Ranks go from 1-6 instead of 1-30. Damage is more based on multipliers than addition. I assume they’ve adjusted the powers and such too.

Yeah looks like it's been tidied up but not sure about some of the cannon character writeups.... Hawkeye is rank 2 but in the ranking system it says rank 4 is avenger level so not sure why he wasn't that rank..... It does look a solid rules set but some reviews have been a bit critical of it

Like I said I’m up for even a one-shot just to get the hang of how the game works.

My goal is to run a version of the 1930s  Noir-verse with pulp hero and shady versions of our favorite characters.

Not going to reinvent the wheel, I might run a Silver/Bronze Age campaign with Stan Lee as the Narrator.

I'm a sucker for Marvel superhero games, but this one's still new to me.

I'd be willing to run a playtest of the mechanics if players kept their characters to one of the 130-some pregens in the book. Character creation looks very crunchy and would be a pain to do if people don't have the book. I can provide the glossary, the basic mechanics, and a list of characters, then the actual sheet from the book for that character.

As long as anyone else with the book is willing to lend a hand with the mechanics and everyone is willing to muddle through the pains of learning a new system, I'd be down.

ETA: To be clear, this would be a playtest only. Run through a few scenes, a few combats, kick the tires, and see what the system can do. Not a campaign.

I'd be really interested in a very short-term test of the system, actually, and am perfectly fine doing it with the pre-made characters. I've thought this system looked interesting, but don't want to invest in it without some more experience. Frankly, I'd be especially keen on your impression of it, Liblarva, after running a small bit.
