I recently learned Exalted second edition, only to get frustrated with my would-be GM's inability to clearly communicate *anything* and constant belittling of my character backstories without offering any suggestions for improvement. I still want to give the setting and system a go, however. Because I am brand new to the system I have no expectations and would prefer a game with as little in the way of house rules as possible.

The character candidates I made for the failed game include the dawn-caste Golden Gale, a lost pirate princess of a destroyed kingdom; the dawn-caste Rose-Gold Reaper, a dim but enthusiastic young woman who wields her grimscythe to harvest souls for her raksha mistress; and my original (and favorite) pitch the Eclipse-caste Leslie Bannister/the Golden Mean, dedicated to using his passion for fashion to reveal the truth of people and destroy lies and injustice.
