I been a TTRPG gamer for 35 years (Advanced Dungeons and Dragons). I run a couple D&D games and a Savage Worlds Deadlands game as GM but that does not allow me a lot of time to play even though all are online. I would guess by work schedule and other life schedules that I could post something short once a day and something longer every couple days. I know D&D 5e, Savage Worlds, some Palladium, some Shadowrun 5e, some Blades in the Dark/Forged in the dark (just started learning) and a few other much older ones. I am open to most but don't want overly sexual or overly descriptive gore. I have had bad experiences with Fate, Vampire the Masquerade, survival type games (continuous searching for rations and water, etc.) and Spelljammer, so I do not want to play those again. Also, THAC0 was a terrible idea, so I would prefer 5e D&D. While I find the lore of Warhammer 40k interesting, I don't really find the gameplay compelling.  I have been a RPoL member for approximately 5 minutes so I don't know the functionality yet but can give it a go.

Welcome! RPol is IMHO the best Play by Post board around - many of us here read books without pictures in and its generally reflected in the quality of the posting.
If you're looking for a game the Wanted - Players forum is your best bet, though its worth keeping an eye on the Game Proposals forum as well.

That said, coming from tabletop you'll find Pbp Slooooooooooooow... even a really good group can take ages to get anything done. Also, PbP games in general have an annoying tendency to die out young, so if it happens to a game you join don't take it personally.

howdy... You came to the best site out there. the  format that is being used is  'new"   but  everything is still at your finger tips  on  your   Home page, or the page   of , which ever game there is  ( access to PMs  , Dice roler   CS  ect ect..)

 as a GM you can use all these tool, and everyone can use  'color for speech'  to  help you see who is talking. and if your tech savvy ( i lack there)  you can put up pics and such.

 to your right  is a column, at the very bottom of that  column is  a  'search engine"..you click on that  and Customize it  to search  for the  games/ Genres you wish, and that includes  ..number of posts...alphabet, or recent posts

 Games  do go , somewhat slow.. i have a slow game, as  folks  are scattered around the glode..another game moves  nicely, for its  size, and My  bigger  game moves  very well when we are in combat, a bit slower  when we aren't. I try to keep things  moving though.

 as Oborg said, there is 'wanted Players' and 'wanted GMs"  you can look through.. GMs  can  bump their  ads  every 7 days. I do that, because you never  know when some one will walk away, or  RL grabs them.

 Have  fun..never be afraid to ask questions. If  the Amins  can't answer a player will!
