various  places in Razorhawk Village

As the group wnet  through the center of  town once more, Kree  and Ivy took a  glance at the totem. Ivy  Grinned  and gave Kree a slap on the shoulder, Kree just  smiled  a bit  as they walked  up a trail that head to a Hillock near the  Southwestern edge of the Village. There  were a few elves with bows  and blades, wearing a tunic, they Noticed  Kree and Nodded, save  for one older Elf that born the rankings  of an Officer, You are Later. Son or no son...You should  nay, be keeping  an Elder  waiting.

Kree never  stopped  walking as he said over his shoulder,I am surprised he knew i was here...I failed to see him greet anyone who had  entered the Village this day....

The Officer turned  and  walked next to  Kree. You should show  more repsect..You might be an elder  yourself someday!

I lead  The Arrows..that is  enough for me...now..run along  and count heads or  whatever it is you do...and allow me  and mine to speak with Father.

Re: various  places in Razorhawk Village

The group  walks up a small path towards  the Home. An older elf  dressed in the tunic of the house bows to them..Well met, Young Kree..your  father  has been....waiting....

The elf  nods to him , his half-smile  grows  abit, Well met to you, Good  Fron...we will go to the Den. We have much to speak of, and My comrades and I need some information....

Kree opens the door, as Fron nods and  makes his way to the elder....The home is well appointed, trophies  of Hunts, both of animals  and people hang on the walls. When the  enter  the Den he points to the   bottles of  Wine and such, help yourself...as we await  my father....

He pulls down the Map of the lands, he pours himself  of tall galss of Elven Gold  as he  and Ivy look over the map...

In reply to donsr (msg #2):

Duran tried to stand out of the way as much as he was able. He being new to the Arrows he wasn't sure what was proper. He knew that meeting with an elder of the elves was a big deal and he didn't want to offend anyone.

As he stood there, he causually looked around the room at the trophies and various nick-nacks that filled the hall. The warrior let his mind wander back to his family home. He thought fondly of his family and of the home they had made and he allowed himself a brief smile. But now all that remained were the graves and charred remains of what was once his home.

Rolf looks about the room as well, not impressed with the signs of past hunts.  It seems somehow disrespectful of those hunted.  He moves over to look at the offered beverages, Neither wine nor brandy was of great interest to Rolf.  A mug of ale or a refreshing draught of water would be welcome, but the rest just dulled e senses and the mind and Rolf there were catfolk to put down.

Re: various  places in Razorhawk Village

The  double  doors  at the far end of  the  study opened, an Elf  , slightly taller the Kree and Ivy, with darkbrown hair, eyes of  sliver  flecked  with blue.

My Son. You have returned. and Brought  some of your People with you...and...you are late...

Ivy turns  and waves, Well met  , Uncle Krell....

The Elder Quickshadow waved slightly to Ivy, Ivyian...I should have known yoou would not  be far behind....

Kree  Gives  a slight  bow to his father, Well met  Father....and we are  not late...we are just on time. My comrades  and I have  come from the river, where the Tou meets the Storm..we encountered  Gremblins...they took at least one of  our Mages...the other...had  thoughts of a carreer change...

Drasius  snickers,..and perhaps..a change of breeches...

Krell loos to the Drowess, adark smile on his face,And I see you have your pet drow with you....

Kree bristled  slightly,  is is  a Razorhawk now...and  an Arrow..there is respect that comes  with that..aye?

Krell nods slightly, As  you say. my son..who are these  others...

we have Duran and Durzak, who have  just joined the Arrows...Rolf and Justin  has been with me for a few tendays...we heard of Catfolk activity...we were waylaid  by the Gremblins, and managed  to bring 2 bodies  back for our sages and  mages to look at..now...we wish to hunt..what can you tell us...

Krell looks over the group,..any of you folk, that i have just met..have anythihng to say, before i get down to business?

Rolf gives the elder a nod by way of greeting, but Rolf contents himself to listening there after.  After all, there were catfolk to hunt and Rolf didn't want to delay that with pointless chatter, besides Rolf had nothing of import to add, though he found the focus on their arrival being late a bit tiresome.

Re: various  places in Razorhawk Village

Looking over the  others  with a nod, Krell walks to the  map pulled  down by Kree and Ivy. He  takes  an arrow  from Kree's quiver as he walks past, using it  to point at the map.

2 tendays  ago...the catfolk raided  a caravan from  Mouri...they took over half the people as captives..only two dead...only one  feline was downed...the head of the caravan said he saw a mounted Red Elf alongside a Lionman, watching the battle from a hill....

Pointing  down the map ot the  western side  of Ironmound, one  tenday ago, a caravan from the  Furman's Chain, was attacked  between  two of the  Emperor's  roadhouses...again, over have thos in the caravan were taken..three died...two felines  fell...this time, the Catfolk were  lead into battle  but a scroe of Red Isle Halflings...rumors say  a Red  Elf was commanding from a bit away...none of the halflings  fell....

Turning to Kree , Krell taps the map,...so..My Son...if you were raiding caravans  for slaves...and you attacked  , once a tenday..where would  you strike  next...and when?  the elder's  face held amusement. thought it was lost on Kree as he studied the map,  Both Ivy and Dras watched  Kree with a smile on thier  face, almost ready to cheer him on, against his father's mocking question...

Taking the arrow  from Krell's hand  he  moved  to Map, and tapped the map, Just North and east  of the  Black Timber.. It would be here...and the attack would be on the next caravan  heading towards the Forest  and our Village, since they can also go to Tou and some of the  towns cloase to the  Desret... They will have used the river to move thier prizes to the Karth swamp...thus? what ever they take here..they just head to the  South of the  swamp...and  will carry thier charges into the swamp, to meet up with  whomever  ships them out...then he adds,..the attack will come  within two days..if they keep thier  tenday schedule....we could move out  tomorrow and set up an ambush....and catch that bastard  Red...peel skin from him, until tells  us where thier  swamp base is....

Krell looked overly surprised, the  mocking smile gone....Kree just looked at him as he slipped his  arrow into the quiver....I hunt  things like this  for a Living father..while searching  for my sister..that you and the rest of the Village  seems to have forgotten....what aid you give us...there are some arrows in the Village that will follow me, if  i merely ask..but i know  not, what needs you have here....can you give us  anything ..to aid our venture...

Krell nods slowly,I have nay forgot, my daughter...I have a whole village to worry about..I cannot trapse across the realms , as my whims  carry me...as far as warriors go, I must talk to Fenric, we will see what he can spare...we will send them from the Village Tomorrow  night...if your guess is right, they will  move  down the road, and perhaps...get there as your trap is sprung....Go to   Eta's  temple...Tell the priestess i said you may draw what healing draughts she can spare... I will have rations  and arrows waiting at the gate for you by sunrise...other then that? I have nothing  more to offer you...The  price on the catfolk's heads remain the same, as do that of the  Halflings  and  The Red...if you are successful. any spoils  are yours  to take, I ask only...if you  have  extra weapons and such taken from the bodies of your foes..bring them here...we are  getting  a small movement of folk joining the Village, to join  your cause ...be wary , my son...Though  Ironmound is our friend...not many Leaders , enjoy the  thought of independent armies   growing  around them....

Re: various  places in Razorhawk Village

Justin considered the exchange between Father and Son then smiled pleased to learn of the Temple to Eta. Praise Eta he commented He wondered if these attacks were also a ploy to draw Red Arrows out, and into an ambush. Perhaps they were but then again they may not. The best he could hope was that they reached the area with enough time to scout it out before laying their own ambush.

As  his  father  finishes, the elf Nods, Have you heard  any news  of Lita..at all...

Krell's  face took on a slight pained expression as he said, Nay, My son. I was  about to ask you, if you  or any of your people had heard..Kree...you do know..that she may not live...

Kree's  head looked down, then snapped up at Krell's last words..Ivy moved to put  a hand on his shoulder....how dare you say that to me!  She is  an elf-maid...we both know haw much Humans lust after  such a prize....and i feel..somehow..i would know if she was dead....I...for  one...will , nay give up, on finding her...or at very least...word of her...

The Elder  Quickshadow  looked  somehow older  now...he nodded slowly, I am only able to wish you luck...and that Eta smiles  on you in your efforts...But  Kree....you can kill every last slaver, bandit, Red elf..and  anything else in these realms...and it  will not bring back Lita, YOur mother...Your you and Ivy's  friend,or her child....

Kree's head rose  just a bit, and for a moment, he looked bigger, perhaps , more powerful then he did a moment before,..Aye..I know that...we.. he jerks his  towards  Ivy,..know that..but everyone  we kill..we never..ever..take  another slave..nor bear arms against our Village, nor Ironmound...

Turning to the others, he says, Come  My friends..its  time  we Visit  Eta's home..and see what she gifts us with....

Krell gives Kree and  Ivy, both a pat on the shoulder, and a nod of his head... the Two Elves  head for the door, followed  by Dras...

So this is one of the reasons behind the origins of the Arrows Justin thought. Hath not they attempted to locate their sister using the divine guidance... he muses. Concluding further enquries upon this be made of his brethren. A quick look around reveals his musing could be taken as hessitancy to attend the temple of Eta. With a bow to the Elflord he Quickly moves to catch up with the others.

BIC: When Duran is introduced to the elder elf without thinking he offered the elf a formal, royal salute. After the fact the warrior hoped no one noticed. He stood silently as the map was brought out. He tried to memorize the improtant details. If they were to lay in wait for an ambush it was prudent to know all ways in and out of the area.

Rolf falls in line, glad to be done with bearing witness to what is a family matter of the Quickshadow clan.  That they lost a member is certainly sad, but that was their business and not Rolf's.

And now it was going to some church.  Rolf has no problem with the religious beliefs of others, long as they don't go pushing them on him, but he has little use for temples and priests and gods...  He knew what it meant to rely on strength and skill and good judgment and those had gotten him this far.  And when they failed, he would take his place with his fathers at the feasting tables for fallen warriors.

Kree Nods to Justin, Eta covers the realms of good Luck, Her sister Neta covers that of Ill luck...where most folks make thier mistake..is this...Neta is not  evil, she merely has powers  over the bad forms of Lucvk..Eta...is not purely good, she  merely governs the sphere of good luck...I pay both homage...I call upon both...I ask Eta to aid my quests  and my comrades...I asl Neta to have ill luck befall our  foes...In that...i have struck upon something, for ...i seems to have found the  perfect weapon to battle  most gods...The sisters, are at times, at odds....But both reward thier followers...andNeta, seems  to take great pleasure in  a person who proclaims to fight   for good...will turn top her...Eta..or so the clerics say...enjoys fighting along  side her sister, after all these eons of being set agains her...am i wrong? who knows, Good Justin, But i will not turn my back on either Goddess....not while  they seem to favor me...

Re: various  places in Razorhawk Village

They leave  the Houses of the Sisters. The group walks towards the Village center  once  more. By now there are many children scampering about, Elven, half elven, Human and a dwarf  child or two.

The Yongest of the Sages, who maintain the Totem ,Meet with Kree,Good Hunter. Might you spare a story for the children. They always look to those who return, for some stories  to think on, and perhaps...spread among themsleves?

He  Pats the  Woman on the  shoulder, He waves the others on to the Inn if they want, then he sits at the base of the Totem. A small Human girl crawels Up into his lap. And Elven boy stands  next to him Holding Kree's  bow, as if it came from the gods.

Right then..Let us  begin..one story mind you, then i must get some rest...for My comrades and I Hunt tomorrow... the kids ooooohed at that and settled down to listen.

Once...a fsrmer  had a small plot of  land. that was his own. He would grow crops  for the king, as well as himself.. However...there were Orcs, who would raid  farms  he looked at the children a half smile on his lips,<DarkGreen>So came the time..the Farmer  Caught  two orcs, the  the King's side of the farm...he killed one with his pitchfork, the other he captured...He was going to  kill the Orc  outright, but thought for a moment..the farmer said..." Go..tell your people to leave my farm alone...or more of you will die..."

The King  came the next day, looking over farms,  and gatahering crops in his wagons to take to the walled city, where his castle lay,"..Farmer? Your crops are not  as full as they should be?"...The Framer frowned, pointing at the dead  orc, I killed a raiding orc..another escaped...but thier comrades made off with some of your crops...."

The  King Laughed,"...no..my friend..they made off  with some of  YOUR crops...for my amount must be met, before you take your share...."

The farmer wanted to protest, but the King's men  began to harvest  crops  from both his field and the farmer's field...when they left, the farmer  had some crops  left in his own field, but  he would not be earning extra coin this   time, by selling his excess. The Poor farmer was beside himself. He had worked hard...only to  be robbed by both the Orcs and the King..."

Two weeks later. The farmer was on his way to a nearby Village, some crops  he had that he would sell so his  family would have coin for the winter...He came Upon a scene..The same tribe of orcs and attacked   a Kings  caravan...and they were , even now, taking the King's daughter to sell or use as a slave... The farmer just watched...the orcs took off. levaving the battered  guards behind...as the farmer passed the wounded and dying men, the  leader of the caravan looked up and said,"...You could have helped saved the princess?  You should have charged in and they would have fled!..."

The farmer shook his head, as he looked down at them,"..I had to sell my excess croips, since the orcs and the king robbed me.....My Family needs must be met first, the King's  family comes next. Since  my family was shown so little thought , by the king? I merely follow his example, and  care for mine first..."

...so....You remember this. YOur  Clan and  your  family comes first. And seek not, to hope those of power will aid you. For in the end? only those of Blood...will Care....

At This  Ivy Raises his  Bow  and Gives  a Hunting  Yell...all the kids , and many of the pople passing By Join in.

Kree stands  Up and takes his bow back from the LAd...and proceeds to the Inn.

Thanking the Priestess for her council Justin moved towards the alter and sat on one of the well used pews. Casting off thoughts that the Sister wasn't all that informative; he offered thanks to Eta. Several hours later he crossed to the temple of Neta peeked inside quietly asked if the goddess would see that ill luck fell to those who interfered with Eta plans. Hoped that he wasn't noticed loitering outside the temple as he  slipping away from its entrance and made his way to the Inn they were to meet.

Walking  about the village, Lucy  sees what most vilage have.  Trades men working, the Smitty seems to be very busy and  has  a couple  apprentices...down the  'street' is the Bowery and Fltechers..some small  merchants, and   some  fresh food stands.

In the Center  she sees the Totem with the Lighted  tiles  with the Hunters names on them, along  side thier name is the score of  foes thay have killed.

There is  a nice Inn, and a backery, of sorts near the Inn..there is  a  grenral Goods  store, it seems  most weapons and such  need to be purcvhased  from the   Smitty of  Fletchers..

The Temples to Eta  and Neta  sit  right next to each other, almost as if forging both  sides of luck, into one object.

After all, if the captive cat needed to be put down, Rolf was as good a choice to do it as anyone.

Lucy will pay a visit to the temple, but she's clearly not the religious type. She mimics behaviour, hoping to not commit a faux-pas...

She wonders if elves, humans and mixed-blood have the same rights and status around here, but dares not ask, for she fears the question might not be well received.

After a moment, she heads to the tavern and asks for a drinks, something light and sweet if possible. If there's any gambling going on, she will gladly join in. She knows that women are usually frowned upon in those circles, something that has always amused her actually... and that was part of the game to her.

The   elf  looks at Rolf for a moment, and  put a hand on his shoulder,I am sorry, My friend..but ...as  i said..the  Elders  are not   as skilled in the ways of the Blade, as Ivy and I...when to cut too deep..the bleeding tends to  go much faster...they  had a few more  questions to ask of it...but it failed...right now? It is being  cut  up for food  for the Dogs, so they might get the taste, for Cat folk.

He  Dished  out a small bowl of  stew  for himself, as  well as  a buttered  piece of bread. What remains now? Is for us to deciede on a path...When those of  us, who were  here started out. We  were going to see if  we might fins  the duaghter of  an Ironmound Merchant...seemed that slavers  had taken her...we were sidetracked  by deaths  of a few of  our unit, and the capture of the  Gremblin bodies. The Sages , with the  Mages  are trying to Contact Reedrcik, to see if that Bounty still stands.....I am waiting  for a runner to let us know....We  could try and hunt down the rest of this  pack, but i am sure they are being more careful, and we  may waste time on a hunt, we cannot win, with out more  knowledge...

Sitting  back to begin to eat his stew he adds,we could make a run through the  swamps and go to Olant...there is a good beg we  may collect some  Goblin ears on the way, and find  some pirates or bandits  in Olant...however Olant is an open town, so we cannot  just kill them out right...unless...they are outside the  walls...however..Law is not  Olant's  strong point, so a fight in the streets or bars , that leads to death, can be covered  by some silver.

and?...we  could always go back to Ironmound, and see what the Bounty  Board has..I am open to the  thoughts of my comrades  here?

Darius steps into the Inn dressed down to a more comfortable, belly-dancer type of outfits, colored with dark purples and reds. Her green eyes scanned the room for a brief moment before she made her way towards the table. She was still limping slightly from her grazed wound as if her leg had become infected tho her pale grey skin had a faint scar where the wound once was. She smiles to Kree as she laid down on a pile of pillows she had the servants lay out for her beside the table earlier. Justin nods moving to allow the trio to join and partake of the meal. Sitting opposite the stocky man. Filling a tankard for each and slipping it on the table before them he remained silent allowing them to make comment.

Re: various  places in Razorhawk Village

As I have  Said, I am Gana, The short one is Frieless, The Tall one is Nok..threre were 4 our us, who have traveled  much of Laynak together, But we lost our  Priestess,Ella...she followed the  Hunter god...she was  taken by the Cat folk when we closed in on the   slaver  camp...there were 14 of us...as far as i can tell ,  we are the  only three to have made it out... I only saw one slaver  fall....

Then that'll be three..cause i kilt one..an another  fell from the Morui Bowman's arrow... Frieless said  as he drank deep  from the ale.

I saw none  fall, I managed to give a Panther, a deep cut, as they made off  with Ella...but ...we could not catch them, once they hit the swamp lands... Nok shook his head and  took a bit of  stew from the Old  Pot.

two waitresses  came back with  the stew pots  and loaves  of  bread, and two more pitchers of  Ale.

Re: various  places in Razorhawk Village

Dras only shook her head at Ivy, only thinking of what she would do to cause him much pain as her attention slowly made its way to the three that came in. She sat up and leaned towards the table. "I remember that time. it was my first time as an arrow and my first skinning of a man. It was most joyful." She sat there a while, listening to the small groups story. "How soon ago had your party been attacked?"

She ignored the look and faced Kree. "May I take a wager and head out to where they were last, perhaps I may find a trail to the cats encampment and find this Ella. They may have not decided to kill her or sell her yet." She looks to the rest of the team before ending her gaze back on the woman.

Kree's eyes  watched the Tall woman as he spoke to  Dras, Youn have that Option, if you wish, But...if the elders  have a bead on those  Cats we fought, we might be heading in another  direction

The  Woman looked at Kree,..YOu fought Cats?

Ivy   chuckled, not a  Day before...that is where this   little lady came from..she  was with the Merchants who were attacked... we killed 13 of them..well...12..the elders killed the one  we brought in...

..You Jest now?  13 Cats..and you captured one...I thought you were speaking  seriously...

The  two men scoffed at the thought.

  Lucy..please tell these....warriors...where we met?

The elf's eyes became cold and hard,Then..you will tell us where you found the  camp.....

Re: various  places in Razorhawk Village

Lucy smiled as she was asked to be a witness of the courage and fearsome battle-hardness of the Arrows. She glanced at the brooch on her vest and thought that she had lost some objectivity in the process, but she could still testify of what she had seen and lived.

She turned to the newcomers and waved thoughtlessly towards her comrades, whose efficiency had impressed her the day before. She simply said :

"Those guys are the real deal..."

She grabbed the dagger at her belt and presented it like a trophy.
"The Panther did not willingly give this to me."

Nok's eyes get a bit  wider...A Cat knife?

Kree  waves  at  Lucy, If you go to the   smithey  You can  buy  a few of them, , maybe evena Cat sword or  two if you hurry..

Gana  shakes her  head, ...if you go into the forest towards the North end...and follow the outskirts of the  swamp...about  a mile  or so before  THe Storm...there will be a path into the heart of the swamp...somewhere down that path..is the camp...

Re: various  places in Razorhawk Village

Dras looked to Justin looking as tho she wanted to smile with his first analogy of her. Then listen to the woman explain the directions. Without hesitation she Jumps from her bed of pillows and heads towards the door before stopping and looking back to Justin. "It is the thrill of death that takes me to these places. As far as my concern for others outside the pack, I only care fore the end reward that turns greater by the one needing to be saved." She looked to the woman with a grin. "Which better be paid in full or there will be a new skin for my wardrobe." She then turns again and heads out towards her home.

Kree Watches her  head towards the door  with a slight smile on he r face,..It seems  Dras  is  going  swamp hunting, with  or without us....It should not be  much longer, before  we hear news, one  way or the other  from the Elders.

Ivy watches   Dras  walk by, and when she makes her  Comments  her chuckles,..we  all know, her wardrobe is mostly her skin....  he  grins over his shoulder at her.

Gana Looks at Justin then to her  two friends, who are eagerly eating, they look up , Frieless wipes  his mouth  with the  back of his hand, I wouldn't  mind sticking  my Blade in the chest of  one of those Bastards...

The young recruit smiled when Ivy mentioned Drasius' wardrobe. Surely they were two different kind of female, not to mention her blood being purer than Lucy's.

She did not seem to be much in a hurry to go after more cat folks, not as much as some others at least. But if immediate departure was what the Arrows had in mind, she would be ready to leave.

Re: various  places in Razorhawk Village

A small elf Miad enters the Inn. Dressed in the  robes of a beginer Sage, she looks  around  as if a bit unsure...then heads to the  table....Kree?...Um.. the  Elders  said..they have  no further  word on the Cats that you have hunted...they..um...do not have the time to come  and see you now..but they...um...well...said  they will get word to you..as...um..they  find out?

At first  Kree's face shows  a bit of  angry, but softens  as he sees the   girl is overly nervous...so?  the  Elders of this  great village..cannot find the  time to talk with us?...the son of one of them? So they send brave Olana to speak the words  they would dare not say?

Ivy Motions for Olana to sit, he pushes  a plate in front of her as he  places berries and fruit on it, a  a very very large pile of sweet cream on it,here you go, Brave Olana...the  spoils of being the  sacrificial lamb...

her eyes  grow  wide at the tray, she looks  from Ivy to Kree...Kree nods his head with a smile. Relax...enjoy..if they are gonna  send you into the dragon';s  den...they cannot expect you to run back, straight away...If the Master Sage  has Issue  with this, tell him I will come speak to him about it...in person..

she smiles  all the more and picks up a wooden spoon, placing some blueberries on it and dipping it into the  cream,..Thank You, Master  Quickshadow...Master  Nightblade! and  she takes the spoonful of cream and berries  with a very pleased look  on her face.

Well, My friends...our course is set then...let us  find out   about the swamp slavers...if  we get wind of the Cats, we will change direction...i am thinking, we  might find some Cats with this Hunt as well...the CAts  are never too far from the slavers...
