Re: CAT HUNT 2

Lucy took the front, moving quickly, and silently up the path.  She paused every so often to sniff the air and listen to the sounds around her, concentrating on sounds other then those of nature.

In reply to Lucy (msg # 926):

Myranda mimmicks the sound of thrush, letting Lucy know that she's being covered and can move forward to the next suitable position to assume Overwatch duty, allowing her a follow up advance.

The  Group slowly makes its  way up the   slope, the trees are still thick, but are becoming , more and More  evergreens as the  leaf -type tress begin to  thin out.

Kree and Ivy  pop into view  every so often, to let the others know they are there.

In reply to donsr (msg # 928):

Myranda gives Ivy a wave to indicate her progress has been steady and without incident; which she considered to be similar to a stroll through a forest glade, in search of Fungi, or trespassing interlopers.

Justin moved along at a steady trot, scanning the path ahead for possible threat. Shield positioned so that it can be quickly brought to bear and darts held ready in a similar purpose.

Bow at the ready with an arrow loosely notched, Rolf continues to follow up the rest, eyes and ears perked to catch any trace of what they're heading towards.

The  Group  sifts  through the trees, Ivy and Kree making sure they can be seen now and then, so the  rest of the group stay in between them.
Kree and Ivy drop down quickly, into a crouch, their Bows  are Brought up as  they Look ahead. At first, it would seem over cautious, until the others  see  4 Humans  walking up a path that winds its  way up towards the cave.

Re: CAT HUNT 2

Lucy sends out a bird whistle to those behind her.  Something of a warning.

Then she does what her cat instinct says to do, and climbs the nearest tree with cover.  She draws her bow, and targets the closest human, just in case.

Re: CAT HUNT 2

Diana heard the bird call, and took cover.  she couldn't see whatever the danger might be directly, but after a few minutes, the travelers became apparent.  She took what cover she could, drawing her bow, and notching an arrow, but holding back on taking aim.

She was just ready should Kree give the signal.

Re: CAT HUNT 2

Resisting the temptation to respond to Lucy's call Myranda gracefully steps behind a tree trunk. Spotting the humans on the path she aims at the one in the centre of the group. Trusting that Kree, Ivy and Lucy have the others covered.

Luthien's not overly easy to conceal, but he takes cover as well. As long as he doesn't move too much and the light doesn't glint off his armor, it should be fine.

Re: CAT HUNT 2

The men walked up  a winding path, that was leading to mountain. Torches  were being lit, Just inside the Cave Mouth as the  four  finally reached the entrance.  4 others came out, 2 Dark elves and two Humans, they talked  a bit, and the  dark elves moved down the path, but  in the North direction, away from where the other  group had arrived.

The two elves could have been carved from wood, as they stayed still and watched. Finally, Kree waved the  Group over to his Left side, out of  view of the  Cave Mouth.

He waited for the others  to gather with him.

In reply to watching (msg # 939):

Flitting adroitly from cover to cover she quickly reached Ivy and Kree, giving both a friendly smile. Drow being lured out of their dens of iniquity; looks like this will be a bit of a challenge.

Re: CAT HUNT 2

Kree took a look towards the CAve Mouth,we do not have the Numbers to  spread out...but  together we can hit  , most any group of guards that might be around....we  will go up along left side of the Mountain, we will come around the  Cave Mouth and Hit the outside guards  with arrows, while the rest rush the  opening..

..We do not know how many more patrols  are out, or what thier ciruits are....right now? we should assume, those that just left, are the night patrol, and will end up coming up this  path, a few hours  before the sun rises...

Responding to Krees summons Justin makes his way forward, using available cover to conceal him. He reaches the Elves in time to hear their conversation, and gives a short prayer to Eta for her guidance and hand in the struggle to come.

Re: CAT HUNT 2

the Going  is  slow as Kree Herded the group together, Kree and Ivy  still flanked   to the left and  right, but nearly as wide as before.

The trees were thinning  out with every few yards, but the  brush and Brambles  took their place.

Kree stopped...He Pointed  with an arrow as he drew it to nock his Bow.

A Male  drow and a female Human sat on some  boulders, they had a few Bottles of  wine  By them, and the Drow seemed to be reciting  something, or trying to sing, the  Woman watched him and had little interest in the   slope that the  group was  moving Up.

The stern Elf Turned back to the others, he  drew the arrow across  his  throat to  signal the others, and then moved forward.

but...would they be able to reach the two, and not be seen, before an alarm could be raised?

Re: CAT HUNT 2

This was wet work. Arrows were nice, but there was a chance of missing, and there were two targets.  No, this was wet work.  It called for a personal touch.  She put her bow away, and drew her dagger.  Arrows could miss, and that would mean an alarm being sounded and nobody wanted that.

This called for a blade.

She moved with all the stealth of both sides of her heritage.  The stealth and of her feline side, and the grace of her elven side.  She stayed in the shadows as much as possible, using her coat to camouflage being seen.  She moved slowly, yet, steadily, and quickly.

When she had to break shadow, she did so, low to the ground, nearly crawling on the ground, yet barely above it.  When she was in position, she froze and listened, sniffing the air.

She listened to what was going on around her, and to what was going on above her.  She was right below the two, within easy striking distance.  Now, she just needed a distraction, and one of them was dying.

Re: CAT HUNT 2

Diana watched as Lucy moved towards the two.  She recognized what she was doing right away, as it was a move that any raiding people did as common place.  She remembered the days of "playing tag", where the cadets had to infiltrate the night guard of the merchants.  The guards were "tagged" with a different colored piece of chalk.

She drew her own blade, and moved out as well.  The cat wasn't the only one who could play that game, that was for sure.

She moved with stealth and stayed in the shadows moving quickly.  She moved into a position three feet from the two targets.

she caught Lucy's eye, and nodded.

They moved in unison, like they had done this kind of thing together forever.  Their movement was fluid and quick.

Diana struck to girl, moving quickly, placing a hand over her mouth, and slicing the dagger across her throat.  She held her hand over her throat feeling the life fade away from the body, before releasing it.

Lucy moved with blinding speed.  She pounced on the human, driving him to the ground, air escaping his lungs, before he could draw a breath.  A dagger slammed into the back of his head, killing him instantly.

It was over in seconds.

Re: CAT HUNT 2

Justin grimaced as Kree drew the arrow shaft across his throat, prompting him to glance about the group. Interesting he thought as Lucy and Hunt chose to undertake this task. Their decision revealed much about their characters. It would have been much easier for all if there were a mage in the group who could cast a silence on the slavers. Still he readied his darts least either of the females were caught unprepared.
