Re: OLANT

Kree , Ivy and Nara  Look  around  and Chuckle a bit..easing the tension...You...my friend..have listened to one too many second rate Bards...or perhaps..Your schooling was taught by those who detest the Undead so baddly, they fail to see  the truths...

..She, Indeed..needs to protect her self  from direct sunlihgt..but that is not hard in the forests , swamps and cities....they do not sleep in coffins...those few who do, end up dust , the first time some adventuring fool comes across them...

..The Undead  ...espically  the Vamps..are driven by thier need for Blood....if the Blood..can be provided...farmed..if you will..the desire  to hunt..is lessened...and they retain more of thier   qualities they had in life...that is not always Good...Baron?  was a harsh Lord near Engar...he was captured  by troops  as he began to gather slavers  as a way to increase his Gold...he met his end as he escaped  and fell into a nest of  ...for want of a better word...'wild Vamps'...Nara's  Leader  had saved him...but  BAron retians  much of the darkness he had in life...Just as Nara, retains her Loyalty  to the Arrows.

Kree returns  tom His  seat and nods at the stew, Ivy begins to dish it out,..I would, be certain, that  Holy folk might  ...be turned into Undead..should they stray too far from the one who gave them power...But?..That is not  my area  of expertise...all i know?...Nara  and her clan aid us, and  get rid of dark folks....they do not  do much different then we do..save..we do not eat them.... he Looks at Lucy,well..most of us do not...

Re: OLANT

"Hey, just because I was cursed to be half feline doesn't mean I live by their crap." She said, somewhat offended.
"The other half is elf." She said with a wry grin.
"I have no problem with her staying her.  Up north, we have heard of such vampires.  There is a legend that has gone around, for some 300 years, last I was told, of a village where humans and vamps live side by side.  No fear.  The humans allow vamps to feed, only as needed, and the vamps, in turn, provide protection.  Now, whether it's a real place or not, I couldn't say." She said.

Re: OLANT

Diana took a step close to the light, and held on to her dagger handle a little more tightly.  Bring in a half feline was one thing, but a freaking blood sucker?!?!?!?!
Even hearing the story, she found it hard to believe.  She, too, had been brought up on tales of how to deal with vampires and their ilk.

She was going to say something, when the half-breed spoke up.  Diana gave her a glare.  She still didn't trust her.  But she didn't say what she wanted either.

So, she remained silent.  However, she would keep a very close eye on that blood sucker, that much was for damned sure.

While she trusted Kree, this was the first time she doubted his decisions.  However, she chose to let things play out.  She just hoped that she would be ready, incase the blood sucker made any kind of move.

I'm a sprite, fairy per se, she said.  Do I hold to the stigmata of most Fae?  Nope, but it sure is fun to dabble on the fence from time to time.

Re: OLANT

Luthien pointed out, "Fae are generally more benevolent then the undead, even if you adhered to every stereotype of them imaginable. Which you don't. Besides, I serve the huntress. It's natural for me and my order to run into Fae. I've just never personally run into undead that still had a conscience. Nor have I heard tell of any who could resist the fell force of the negative energy plane. That is not to say I can be wrong, I certainly can be, but...it remains difficult to believe, even seeing it. Still...I have left my sword sheathed, because it is always possible to draw it later. But a life, or unlife in this case, once taken, is not so easily restored."

He still isn't sure he's buying into this, he's been taught one too many things at the temple.

Although...

"Nara, if you had the opportunity, would you prefer to live again in truth, or would you prefer to stay as you are now?"

There are powerful clerics who could return true life, even to the damned.

Re: OLANT

Justin sat listening to the revelations that were being expressed. He knew Kree had dealings with all manner of dark beings, the Captains association with the Drow was proof of that. This was a tad darker, Focusing on the woman he considered the situation.

Luthien smiled, choosing to take that in the positive way.

"I'll see what I can for you when next we encounter of the bigger churches. It'll take diamond dust, and a lot of it, to get you properly resurrected. Then again, if we manage to take enough of the slavers' resources, there should be enough to sell or trade for it."

Lar regards the vampiric woman with first suspicion and then wonder as her tale is told.  Finally he decided to speak up. "I say if she is loyal and proven friendly to us then she differs little from the rest of us.  That she slays our enemies by feeding on them is little different than killing them outright in my mind.  It would be different if she preyed on the innocent just as it would be wrong for any of us to commit murder."

Cru could only shake his head at it all.  He snapped his finger for his companion to stand guard as well.  He made it a moot point that he was on guard duty this night along with his companion as he stood in his position.

Luthien nodded. He might not be able to get sick, but he still wanted to be warm on general principle. Besides, he could spend this time shining his armor to make sure it didn't rust from all the water exposure. Helped to be near the fire for that, anyway.

Riku nodded at the comment and looked to find a branch that she could rest on above the fire.  NO luck, instead she poked at Ivy or Kree to pull up a small log for her to rest on by the fire.  When that had been moved, she laid down and closed her eyes.  The sound of the rain putting her to sleep.

Re: OLANT

the night passed  somewhat quiet, the  Thick stone of the  Ruins   help keep the rain at bay, and the fire  kept it rather  warm..The Canvas tok a beating , but held out the rain. The passage to  the Back let in some fresh air, now  and then as  a stray gust of  wind would find its  way through the trees.

An Hour  Before Sunrise, Nara shook Kree  and  said she was going to get to Olant before the   the Sun Crested the   Mountains to the South..she promised to relay the message, but first she needed to find  some slaver folk to feed on.

Like that..she was gone, The  elf  began  to take  down his Canvas shaking the water out off the wet side..and Hanging it near the fire  for a bit.

..Make yourselves ready..we have the stuffs for mush and the fire is  warm...somethign warm in out  bellies  should help us reach Bol  By late day....

After his morning devotions had been completed, Justin set about reading himself for the coming day. Cleaning his equipment, eating a warm meal and exchanging greetings with the others. When all was ready to depart he took up his usual position in the order or march.

Once the Morningfest was done,   Kree and  Ivy  went out   into the woods  and brought back a few arm  loads Of  wood. these the   set up, standing   or in small 'teepee's'  to help them dry out , for the next group that might use this  as shelter.

As   Kree  rolled up the canvas, he said, Lucy?..You take the Point on the Trail... Rolf and Diana  you two   will be rear Guard, everyone else   in the Middle, Iv and I will range on the Flanks...if I am Not Mistaken..we  can reach Boll  if  we  march hard and  fast...

Re: OLANT

Diana couldn't wait to get on the road.  She had slept extremely restlessly with the vampire in the camp, waking up every 20 or 30 minutes or so, to make sure the beast hadn't done anything rash.  Then again, if the vamp had gone all ... vampire, she probably wouldn't have known it anyway.

She saddled her horse and got ready to ride out.

Lucy nodded at the order to take point.
While she had slept soundly, she had also slept lightly.  It was a cat thing.  A couple of times she had woken up during the night, but it was usually the others moving about or something like that.

She saddled her horse, gave a "giddy up." and went galloping into the distance on point.

Even we Paladins don't have our bonded mounts yet, because the GM hasn't thought of anything tough enough to survive working with the arrows.

I suspect someday, Sir Justin and I will be riding Bullettes. Or landsharks. Nothing in its right mind wants to mess with those.
