Elandra sits with the others and partakes in the meal. She uses the bread she took as well, she knows it wont last forever so eat it while it was good.

Once the meal was done Elandra said," Are e setting up watches for the night Captain?"

The elves   can take  the deep watch. Everyone  else get sleep. i wish to push hard tomorrow....

The  wind   was  blowing  slightly, Kree   fixed more    rocks to the  canvas, to  keep it  taut  and    keep the  wing  from the sides. He  settles   back  down     putting his    cloak around  him.

Lysander, belly full, gets a good night's sleep.  He trusts the elves to hear and see anything around them.  He does dream some, but they are not scary, just confusing dreams.

Re: Trader's Rest

When the lieutenant returned with the game, Alyna was overjoyed to see the deer and grouse  meat. She made use of that; taking the vegetables she'd been dicing, seasoned them, and making a tasty, hardy stew to go with the bread. Offering the results of her work to any who were interested:

"Just like my auntie makes back home!  Dig in help, yourself," she told them all, serving a bowl for herself as well.

And once it came time to bed down for the night, she found a spot, then removed her bedroll from her pack.    She was just a half-elf, and so needed sleep much as a human did.    As well, as a caster, rest was important to her.

Like Miranda, she offered a prayer to the Sisters, although it was a silent and informal one.    All told, the day had ended well. She gave thanks for finding the group, who didn't seem to be a bunch of blood crazed loons.

Kree  pulled up his   hood  , after downing a bit of  wine from his mug, he left the Bottle  sit out for those that wanted a  nightcap...sitting in his   cloakc   he took the  side facing Traders rest.

Tyri moved to serve herself and Ivy when the food was ready, eating quietly as she listened to the conversation around. She found herself missing the noise and merriment that always seemed to follow her troupe. While she had found a kind of family and camaraderie amongst the arrows, the atmosphere was, for the most part, very serious given their type of work. Maybe as time went on, she would adjust to it but a part of her also wished that mayhaps, they could fix what was broken so they could enjoy such a life. There was a soft sigh when she finished her meal and she moved to take position near Ivy but enough away to offer more vision in other places.

Re: Trader's Rest

Riven seemed rather lost in thought as she stared out into the distance, seeing but not truly seeing. It was nights like these that she had cherished the most with her brother and the few other arrows that took a part in their dark work infiltrating. No matter how hard things seemed to be or how dire, Mihail always had a knack for putting everyone at ease and reassuring them of their success. Kree didn’t pull punches, speaking plainly about what they would be going through and that it wouldn’t be easy…it was just very different. Then again, Mihail was never in charge of a large group like this. It was usually her and a couple others. Kree had a softer side of him…but, from what she has seen so far, hasn’t really been seen much outside of the bedroom. A small smile found its way onto her lips at the thought as she noted the others taking up positions. Standing up, Riven stretched before taking up a position, pulling her mask back up to cover her scarred face.

Moltke joins the others at the campfire and picks up a bowl of warm stew. He listens silently to the conversations around him with half an ear. These last few days have been most eventful, and he delighted in his heart at the excitement that had occurred and the trek sure to follow. He looks up at the night sky in mild bliss as he finishes off the rest of the stew. Before entering the Sanctuary for some rest, he bids the others to enter its protection as well and casts Detect Magic to truly ensure that no magical threat was around.

Re: Trader's Rest

Alyna had, thus far, gotten the sense (wrongly or rightly) that Miranda and Elandra were the most social and easy going among the group.     As the pair of them spoke, she approached and said:

"It's all good, me fellow lasses!  A gods-hand must act on their faith. And all doors open to courtesy, as a friend of mine used to say."     Of course, that friend was now deader than an ogre's love life, but still...

Re: Trader's Rest

The sound of thunder pounded in Aeraynne's ears. She couldn't tell whether is was her the blood throbbing in her temples, her heels pounding against the drenched forest floor, or the jagged white flashes rending the night sky. Nor could she know of the deafening roll concealed the sounds of pursuit by the savages who sought to end her journey with a rain of steel-tipped arrows.

Torrents from the heavens blurred Aeraynne's vision and obscured her way. Not that she was following a trail of any type. Her training told her to avoid the easy path when she was the prey. An so with her weary legs crashing through the branches and brambles, praying that the dark and occasional light would be just as disorienting to those behind her.

The way ahead was nothing but blurred blackness with suggestions of passing tree trunks as she miraculously avoided colliding into them. But she knew something was amiss when she caught sight of an orange glow appearing and disappearing ahead. It looked like a well concealed fire, but in her state of haste, she didn't understand why it occasionally vanished or was so low in her field of view. She almost thought it a hallucination born of her panic and exhaustion until she realized too late that she was on higher ground.

Aeraynne last footfall tread on empty air, and she tumbled forward. The slope was too steep for her to stop from tumbling and rolling over dirt and rocks, but at least it wasn't a sheer drop. When she finally settled at the bottom, she remained still, listening to make sure there was no one above amd worried she may have been too injured to continue. But as the moments passed, she heard nothing but rain and storm, and while she ached, even the sharp pain in her ankle didn't feel like a break. Gathering her strength and courage, Aeraynne pushed back up to her feet and limped towards the concealed campfire. If her luck held, the campers ahead would welcome her.

Waking to the distant sound of a crashing in the woods, Lysander came awake.  He made sure he was armed and quietly went to wake Kree.  Kree was already aware, so Lysander moved in the direction of the sound, hiding among the trees to best react to it.

Pulling her cloak more tightly around her, Aeraynne limped her way across the more open ground. The firelight was well concealed, but still obvious from her vantage point as she approached in the pitch of night. She couldn't see any people, but they had to be there. She was taking an awful risk. They could be bandits, or worse, but she didn't see a slave cart and a larger force could remain so concealed. At worst there might be up to six or so. If they were hostile she could allow herself to be captured and then escape after.

The sound which disturbed the quietness of the night being sufficient to raise Lysander from his sleep. Lend Miranda to wonder if it was deliberate attempt to lure any of them into a trap. Resting a gauntlet on Lysander's shoulder Miranda glanced at Kree to wait his decision, weather to investigate the source or wait and see what will happen.

Lysander hears only one set of nearing footsteps, but in the far distance, he is starting to hear even more.  Now he wonders if there is a pursuit in progress, but who would chase anyone out here.  He whispered to Miranda, "I hear more coming.  Take the trees over there"  He pointed about 20 feet away.  He hid well, but with a view of the thin trail.  He put his battle axe in his left hand and his dwarven throwing axe in his right.  He wanted to be ahead of the battle, if there was one.

Re: Trader's Rest

The sound woke her abruptly;  suddenly sitting bolt upright from her bedroll, with the kind of reflex that only living some sort of dangerous life bred into a person.   The knife in her hand was the one she always kept when sleeping.

But, there was no threat near her.   The sounds were from further out.   She noted some of the others moving, and no one needed to prompt her to do the same.

She put the knife aside, took her short bow, grabbed her quiver.   And then spoke under her breath, in the sibilant tongue of the arcane; "El'saris nye vel ah'ris mor,"

Alyna vanished from sight.   And, invisibly, padded her way over toward where the vegetation was thickest, ensuring she'd have the best shot on unsuspecting enemies, if they encroached along the clearest part of the path toward the camp...

Dismissing her concerns Lysander left the relative safety of the cave, whilst Miranda chose to wait; for Krees decision. Hearing an invisibility being evoked Miranda glanced towards its source. Being invisible at night doesn't prevent others from hearing or smelling you she quietly cautioned.

Moving softly in outdoor settings is one of my class skills. (not that it always works...)

"That's why I'll stand still, await an opportunity," she whispered.  "I have a bow. No plan to get close. I'm good at evading in the woods, if I must run."       Saying no more, she moved away, found her position, and waited.
