Deleted Games

I just had a three old games I've been considering trying again deleted by a moderator. I wanted to keep two of them, but I can not find an "undelete"/"resurrect" option on the new site.

Luckily the old site still works, and it still has the feature, so I managed to save them, but shouldn't the new site, as well? Or am I just looking in all the wrong places again?

Go to https://r.rpol.net/admin/creategame.cgi and type in the old game name as the new name.  Not sure of a different method on the old site?  Though now I've set that it might force you to put in a GM name as well, such as new HTML likes to force.

Might put in a link to select and resurrect an old game to make life easier.

Deleted Games

The old site had a resurrect option at the top of the game main page. It was quite simple once you found it.

I think your method just helps me find it? That I can do. I want to undelete it.

OK, your way works, but it has a few hoops. The old system was much simpler.

The old/current UI has a convenient button offering to let you "resurrect" it if you go to the game. Which is what a friend of mine was using when I let them know some of their old stuff got deleted tonight while we were gaming. As much because they were freaked out when I passed along this thread saying the OP could not find the button in the new UI.

Having to use a "How would they even know that?" manual entry for what has a clear and convenient button to undelete a game sounds like a HUGE oversight, yeah. And justifies my telling them to get on it ASAP instead of after the holidays "Just in case there really is no button anymore"

I wasn't pushing the button myself (just co GM not main GM) in case that switched permissions or something. But the fact it is right there for someone who usually gets confused when I explain UI in less than exact terms was good enough for them certainly speaks for the old UI. (I literally told them 'press the try it now button' regarding the banner add to test responsive when they were curious about the new UI, and their reaction was 'I don't see a "try it now" button' So yeah. Turns out Idiotproof game resurrection is a big deal)

Re: Deleted Games

Ah, didn't even realise that was there.  Fixed the issue.

The same method is also available on the old site, and has been for many years.

Re: Deleted Games

In reply to tmagann (msg # 7):

Which still doesn't make the above method of resurrecting a game a new thing.

Re: Deleted Games

No, not new, just new to responsive. And several hoops easier than the way responsive was set up. That was the point of the thread: To please put it in responsive. Which has been done.
