D&D 5E - but with Ars Magica spellcasting
Dragons of Stormwreck Isle is a basic story framework, but it deals with issues that give it plenty of potential for drama and suspense. As D&D adventures go, it's fairly short. That makes it a great opportunity for trying out something new.
Like the powerful, versatile Word Magic system from Ars Magica. Ever played it? Ever been interested to give it a shot?

This is a low-pressure game where you can try out a mage from the vaunted tradition of Bonisagus in the high-magic world of Elminster. Or, if magic's not your thing, the grogs that fight alongside them.
The action rules use 5E's quick-and-dirty ruleset for easy, straightforward gameplay. Casting spells uses a simplified form of Ars Magica 5th Edition's elegant Technique-Form magic system, where your imagination is the fuel for the wonders you bring into the game world. Character creation loosely follows 5E standards, but I've done the work adapting the pre-gens into the hybrid system so you don't have to if you don't want to.
You don't have to know or own Ars Magica to join this game. N00bz and black hats are all welcome.
