Kingsport, Massachusetts. 1927.
With the coming of Autumn, the seaside resort town of Kingsport, called by many “The City of Mists”, usually becomes quiet, the tourist trade slowing with the arrival of cooler temperatures. It is not so this year.
With the turning of the leaves, a handful of residents of Kingsport are struck suddenly by a debilitating physical condition, one that physicians are at a loss to explain. As fear of the mysterious ailment begins to rise within the community, a pair of town leaders enlist the help of a group of learned investigators, in hopes of discovering the origins of the strange ailment.
What the investigators will uncover will lead them into the darkest corners of the township’s history and to terrible secrets best left forgotten
