Ben trotted back down field, still grinning so widely it was a wonder his face cage could contain it. He veered off to the sidelines, ready to let the kick team come on, but savouring the moment.

  The Dragon Fans ( and some disgruntled redskin Fans) Roared as Ben Broke Up Field  with the Ball.    Bronk Untangled himself  from the DB, Pushing Him away as  he stood up. Then , Adam  Just  stood there, looking up at the screen to watch the reply,Dammit..you made  me miss the  play.... You  try to wrap up like that again, you'll be on IR....

 Then He    Jogged  across the   Field to High 5 Ben and Steele.

  Smokey and the Kicking  team came on. The Kick was  wobbly, but managed to make it through.

  Smokey  jogged  down  the filed  as  a Ball Boy came out  and handed him the Kicking Tee and K Ball, Getting  ready  for  the Kickoff team to  come on the field.

  Smokey  waited Until the Ref  gave the   signal after the TV time out. He held up his hand and strode  forward, being a punter, he liked the Kickoff... FGs  and PATs made his  tummy  sick.

 The Ball sailed  awkwardly, and High,  one of the return men gathered it in a Great Block On Bing gave the return man a chance to get to the Outside.

CJ lined up with the ST unit and watched as the ball hung high in the air. He burst towards the returner, thinking that this was his shot to make an impression...and he was going to make the other guy wish he'd called for a fair catch. He used his hands to disengage from a blocker easily, and rounded towards the outside.

He slammed into the returner at full speed and drove him to the ground. As he did so, the ball popped out of the returner's hands...

 The  Crowd   shouted   as the BAll came out,    the players  nearest the Ball    scrambled  after in, but it rolled out  at the redskins  31.

 Payne    Came  Back on  the  filed, there was the   mix of  'starters' and   2nd team, though, in truth, it was always like that.

  Looking  a CArl , Payne said,..now?..You listen up.... there's a couple of us  who  played  for the goddam Jags, and  ain't no  one worried  about how  bad they beat us... papers makin' fun of us..makin' our  fans feel ashamed.... now..yer new here.. we didn't get to work with ya in practice..so' I'm just  sayin' this. You bust yer ass fer this team..and  for Sims.... Now? Coach wants  us  to punish the Skins..seems thier owner didn't  want our  owner in the League... seems  they have a problem with Sims, and with Bronk?..so..we're gonna make sure they don't like any of us....

 he Looked around the Huddle..all LBs...Blitz..make that 2nd team QB earn his fat paycheck he gets  for holding a clipboard... straight Zone in the back field... we do this , until this series is over...

   the   Back Up took the snap  and went to Hand off to try and Kill the clock, he and the BAck were hit by Kane,  first one then the other as he 'sorted ' them out.

 Dalton and  CArl  came in from the sides...

In true form, Ricky worked on maneuvering his way through the offense pushing people out of the way in an attempt to get to the QB and sack him. Just. One. More. Time.

 The QB   looked around  , CArl and Dalton coming from  2 different angles, he Stepped  up in the pocket and Fired the Ball to the TE in the Middle, Just as  Kane met him.

 The TE snagged the ball for  13 yards with Payne planting him into the turf.

1-10 R 42  5:39 running.

 The  QB was taking his time, his eyes  darting up to the clock as he  called out signals.

 Once  more he faked the draw, Kane  Bit and Hammered the BAck, the QB set up to throw...and>>once more.. Dalton and CArl crashed  from the outsides....

   The  QB  stepped up int eh Pocket  Just  as CArl   Came in, he was about to let the BAll go, when  Dalton  slammed into him, shoulder first, the BAll came loose, but  bounced back into the  QB's  arms  as he curled  around it.

 The  Refs  unpiled the  players  having already Called Redskins' ball. Kane  was Holding the BAll , but the refs   Just waved Him off.

  This Time, the QB  handed off to the HAlfback on a straight  Dive, he was met..hard..in the hole by Payne for a gain of 2.

   once more the QB took his  time at the line, watching the Clock, he faked the  Pitch and Wheel to Throw out in the Flat, testing the  clean jersey that was trying to cover the HB.............

Carl sniffs out the fake pitch and heads towards the flat, and reaches for the pick. Unfortunately he doesn't get there fast enough to prevent the tailback from making the catch, but manages to wrap him up as sIon as he does.

 The crowd   is yelling for the Redskins  to go for it. ..half of them are Skins fan ( those who have stayed)..because they want their team to show some guts.

 the other Half that wants them to go  for it, is the dragon FAns, who hope the Dragons will have a chance to score...one more time!

  The Skins  chicken out  and send in the Punt  team.

 Fry sends   Bing and  West in to  try and come off the corners for the Block. Klay goes back to be the return man.

  The Ball is  snapped,  Bing and  West Come off the Cornerrs, the  Up Back Hits  west  who  flies into the Punter...Flags  fly.

  Fry  takes a few steps out on the filed  and Yells about  West being Blocked into the  punter....seems the refs  don't care...

  The  QB   gives the Defense a sneer, Payne is out , Wheeling moved over to MLB..Worth is  back at SS to have a vet  on the field.

This time, targeting the rookie pays off. Carl whiffs on the tackle in the flat second time around: he goes for the pick again, and this time pays for it. The tailback shrugs off his arm tackle and speeds past, leaving him to watch in the grass.

  The Back Picks up 13 yards  before  Bing sends him sprawling towards the sidelines and off of bounds.

   the  Bad  up QB  was feeling it now, took a couple hits, made a Couple Plays, Moved the ball ( of course the  roughing flag will be talked about all week!)

CJ wanted to punish the qb for targeting him, but it wasn't to be. He wrapped up the back again after a modest gain of a few yards, but got rolled up doing so. He came up testing his ankle, but...it turned out to be nothing. He trotted back into action, his anger at being targeted having been briefly been replaced by relief at having dodged a bullet.

  Carl brought the  back  down , out of Bounds. he had  picked up  4  more yards.

  The QB was Grinning  as they picked up the 1st a Goal, he ws moving the ball  where the #1 didn't.

 this time , he faked the Draw on First Down  and Fired out  a pass to  the WR on a Bubble screen, hoping to suck Carl in..one more time!

The  QB went to the well once more. The BAll  went  over  CArl's  HAnds  again, the WR  Followed the  Block from the BAck, lowered  his shoulder into  West's belly and  drove him into the Endzone

   The   Redskin fans  who remained cheered, The   2nd  team QB was  patted on the BAck..

  The PAT was good 2:41  clock stopped D74 R 41

   The Dragons  Lined Up, for  what could be the last drive of the GAme.

  Adam  Settled    in at the  5, Klay Moved  Up tot eh 10 on the other side.


  The  Ref   gave the signal and the  BAll was LAunched towards  Klay  but a bit  deeper then H e thought,  he Yelled to Adam who was hustling over to Block for Klay, but veered off  towards the  Ball.

 The Ball hit, Bounced  once  towards  the sideline  and  Adam managed to grab it  and  Keep  his feet inboards, 3 yards  deep..then he  turned Up field  , full speed to catch up to Klay.
 Watching  the  little wide out snag the ball that close to the  sidlines, , Most of the tired  Redskin squad started to slow   down, But the  dragons   Had turned,  Peeled  back,  and  started to  set the  wall.

 Only  hteee or  4 players on  Adam's side of the Ball didn't  slow  down, as they saw  him take off  Up field, This caused a  few Redskins to be ignored by the blockers, and  doubling up on the ones who were still Moving.

 Following Klay Up the Field  with  his   left arm on Klay's Back, and the BAll tucked against his   chest to the sidelines..Savage  Blocks on  redskins who were 'half-trying' and the fact that none of the Dragons have packed it in yet.

 only a BAckup safety and the Kicker  had  angles on the speeding Bronk and his Klay, escort...Klay went after the safety...the  Kicker   drove at Adam, tripping up his  legs and  Causing Him to  Fall at the Redskin 28.

 Adam  slapped the BAll a couple  times   as He got Up , shaking his head.  The  GAve the   Redskin  Kicker  a  Pat on the helmet as he  got up...Then he  and Klay exchanged   'high 5s'

 They stood  on the filed  waiting for  the O to come up, KLay next to Adam laughing  as he pointed up at the screen, Klay's Blow  wasted the Safety,  had the Kicker not tripped him up, he would have walked into the endzone.

  Adam  bent over shaking his head, as Klay hit him on the  Back a few times laughing.

Hopefully the 2nd teamers on the line knew what they were doing, but quick-hitting passes in the 4th quarter against a tired and fed-up defense shouldn't cause too many problems. James quickly called the snap and looked for Ben on a turn-in, or Mackins on a quick out, to give Bronk a breather.

Ben took off at the snap running a deep curl on legs that looked like the belonged to a man in the first quarter, not the last.

 Across the way. Many of the redskins  were disgusted, or angry some shouted  stuff  out at the Dragons.

Mackins made a nice cut and dove for the sideline, good for a solid six yards. Steele applauded the hustle, but almost in that instant he heard Coach Sims barking in his earpiece from the sidelines.

"Come on guys, let's MOVE!!"

Waving his arms to hustle everyone back to their spots James checked the defence and then immediately called for the snap. This time he looked for Ben or Bronk.

Ben was off like a shot again, legs pounding as he ran a slant, making space for himself...

The Skins were dead on their feet, only anger and natural competitiveness keeping them going now. Steele decided to go for it once more, all big arm, cocksure swagger and balls-to-the-wall gunslinger.

Bronk was beating his man all ends up, yet again, and Ben was the riskier throw...so Steele naturally opted for the latter. The inside linebacker had dropped deep, the safety was playing over and the corner to that side had shaded off his man trying to make a play, so the window James had to land his pass into was no bigger than a gnat's eyelid. He cocked his arm back and released the ball in one lightning-quick, powerful motion...

And nailed it.
