Nat watched the show with her arm around Heather. She was smiling, but not as bright as normal. She sipped her soda and bopped with the music, waving at people who said hi.

 right before the show started,  Payne  answered,I'm Middle   Line Backer,, we  switch up  from  3  four to 4  three  depends on if the other teams  has  a QB, back there or a runner... Runners  are fun. That   Emma Reese?  got  alot of her picks off  runners...

Worth  nods  I play safety..used to be  , just strong side?  but with our   rotating,  Zone  blitz?   we  all play  every were..  the back side  gus  drop out and such, to  Corners become safeties..LBs   become Corners... and the QB has to figure that all out  while our Mad Dogs  are chasing them down..

Rock nodded at the response. "Yeah, I've been studying the footage. The rotations are so fast - it's like you're all sharing a brain. Well coached group, it seems, and disciplined." He raised an eyebrow. "Looks like playside corner gets some contain responsibilities and then backside corner rolls up over the top." He smirked. "Probably where I'd most likely get picks from if one of those runners gets overconfident about his arm strength."

The corner smiled. "I've seen you roll into dime against four wides, and I presume the slot corners essentially are treated like outside backers when you go nickel or dime." He hadn't seen them play a lot of quarter, but he hadn't watched every play of the season.

Rock looked back over at Payne. "You the green dot on defense?"

Overwhelmed was not even close to good enough of a word. When Lindsey was called up on stage with Heather, Emma, and Lu-Ti, she could tell there would be some kind of statement about women and football. Then when Lissy ran across the stag, giving Adam a big hug she stopped trying to guess. Lissy was so adorable in her costume and she was just so happy to be a part of this giant thing. But the best part was when she announced that she was cancer free. Lindsey gasped, covering her mouth with both hands then alternated smiling and clapping with wiping the tears streaming down her cheeks.

After Lissy Dragon lead an Adam Bomb cheer, which was just so adorable, Yuto moved on to introduce the next segment which was the one she anticipated. based on what he was saying, the week had been an eventful one. Every one on that stage, herself included, had been involved in some major news. All of it was positive, though in her case it could have easily gone the other way. Lindsey was not at all shy about being in the spotlight, but she was humbled by the other women there and she blushed at being applauded in such a way. But it was a big moment ans her accepting it with grace was the right thing to do. It didn't require anything of her except to be seen and recognized. At the end of his wonderful presentation, he applauded everyone on the stage while saying thank you to the cheering crowd.

 Payne and Worth   smiled a  Bit..I have it  when i'm in.... Cruz has it when I'm out....we also use  system of    hand  signals, with an indicator , But we don't  care if they know what we're going to do , right before the snap,it up   to them to stop us

 when the  presentation was over, People scattered to dance    and  Eat..Lissy  Dragon  had  players  talking to her  and    dancing  with her.  her  Dad talked to Coach Sims  and Cal.

 Adam  was leanign on the bar  with a soda, watchign  people  crowd  around the ladies..Selfies.... dances... atuographs/

 other  folks sang and danced .  Mik  came over   and leaned   on the bar  as well,Bloody wanker, drinkin' soda  while leanin' on a Bar... why are you out there  with yer girl, then?

naw, we'll have  out time.. this is hers, and the Ladies..

With the big presentation apparently over, Lindsey went across the stage to thank Yuto. While she knew he took great pride in all their accomplishments that week, it was still a heartfelt gesture that she greatly appreciated. He graciously accepted thanks but then bade her to go have fun and mingle. She bowed and left the stage.

Adam had taken a spot at the bar to watch. She wanted to go be with him, but it was a pep rally and sitting off to the side wasn't really the right thing to do. Besides there were people who wanted to meet her, and she honestly wanted to meet them as well. She shook hands, signed some autographs, and smiled for more than a few photos and selfies. Every few minutes, she go by Adam to give him a kiss and to drop a handful of folded napkins, business cards, and scraps of paper scrawled with phone numbers of men - and a couple women - who offered to meet her in a more private setting. It fun and it was flattering, but after about twenty minutes, big miles with big chirping hellos and yelps of enthusiasm became more subdued and casual.

After forty-five minutes, she had to sit, plopping sliding onto the bar stool next to Adan and hugging his arm for support. "Oh my God, I think tomorrow I'll go run a marathon to cool down from this." She turned to the bartender. "A frozen zombie, please. Put it on his tab." She pointed to Adam. She knew it was free but it was funny to her.

  Adam  smiled  as she  worked the crowd.  when she  came   over and sat down.  Yuto worked  with your  Boss?  that EG guy?... him and  Bob put stuff together  and  Noto and his team finsihed the  product?...THen..EG sent it to Jamie , who is  airing  i, right about now?..so? Not only did  folks see your   EDY thing...but now they Saw all of this....... Like I said a few nights  ago?... you better  ditch those dating apps!

  Emma came By with a  Tired looking Lissy dragon in her  arms...See you guys tomorrow.... I'm taking this dragon and her Da d home, so they don't have to wait  on a taxi...

 Mr  Wilkes Looked   a bit more steady  now...Lissy  says  you do funny things  at the  Hospital?

  Adam looked at Lissy Oh?  Did she?  Lissy giggled

Adam was going to say something, But Mrs  Sims  Put a finger on his lips...shhh!... You'll say something stupid...don't say anything stupid...  she smiled

 Adam  just said,Yes  Ma'am...

  Adam looked at  Lindsey and shrugged. with a smile...

  Yuto said on the Mic...Suprise tonight too.. We signed  ..or will sign,, a new Dragon tonight... Mr  Rock  Woodson!...

 a light show on him , a couple dragonettes  ran over to pose  for a pic with him from Box and  Yinda

 Bloody hell, that wanker used to chase me all over the field up there...you too!

 an' that's supposed  ta  make it better?...we'll have to  run against him 5 days a bloody week!..was Hopin'  to end the  season on a  lazy note!

Rock looked around when Payne mentioned the other green dot. "Cruz is fifty-seven, right?" The corner knew a lot of the players by number and last name, but faces were going to take a little bit. They showed up on the replays sometimes, but seeing a guy in the flesh without pads was a little different than watching game film.

"Hand signals we can work on once the ink is dry. What do I need to know about the coaches and the culture? And do you guys get on well with the offense?" Rock had seen some teams where O and D were often at odds. And others where it was more a friendly competition.

Rock enjoyed watching the spectacles that were taking place during the festivities. Team didn't seem to spare energy or expense for promoting their players, or in this case other important people to the team. He was particularly impressed by the women that were introduced as they seemed to be much better utilized than for a lot of other teams. It seemed both progressive and wise. He didn't know all the stories behind everyone just yet, but he would be happy to learn.

When Yuto headed to the mike later on in the evening, Woodson had a feeling it was for his introduction and wasn't disappointed. He was wearing a big grin on his face when the spotlight came looking for him, and happily posed for some pictures with whomever wanted. He was very hands-off with the dragonettes, keenly aware of the sorts of things that could get a rookie in trouble. Once the initial photo ops were concluded Rock waved at anyone who was still looking. It wouldn't be a terribly late night, but Rock was happy to hang around to speak with anyone interested in doing so.

  Payne answered  Rock  have   his   spotlight was off..That's the thing here?  offense and defense?   were all just dragons.... The offense knows   , that tempo is gonna make it hard on us..so they try to score..everytime... We know  we're gonna  do the heavy lifting, but  we try to limit thier scores..and they know, Sims  is without anything that could be   guess at...in the way of Mercy..we go into their stadiums  to pillage and loot.. when they come here,, were  beat them back to their boats

Sipping her drink through a straw, Lindsey leaned on Adam's arm. He was explaining how Yuto and EG conspired to put the productions together and get all her appearances aired. She was hot at the moment, so the more her face appeared, the higher the ratings. Her face and name were a commodity, which was probably why Adam said something about ditching the dating apps.

"Oh I don't know." As scooped over the pile of phone numbers then brought up what was her go to dating app. "Don't you want to see who wants to fill your... um.. shoes?" She smirked. "Let's see... this is richncuddly4855" She showed an image of a man's face. He looked to be in his forties with a full head of thick black hair, a dark five-o'clock shadow and bright blue eyes. "So, rich-n-cuddly writes to me: Lindsey, you are the most fascinating woman on the planet." She recited his words in a breathless and dramatic voice. "I am seeking someone like you who appreciates the finest things on earth and is not afraid to go after them." She stopped and looked at Adam, holding up the phone image next to her face. "So, what do you think? Can you see us together?" She giggled then swiped him away. "Delete. See? How does it feel to be with the most fascinating woman on planet Earth?" She went in and set her application status to inactive. Then did the same with the other three apps.

When Emma came by with Lissy, Lindsey watched Adam interact with the little girl. She was so precious, and she so adored Adam. After Emma took her away, Lindsey leaned in, whispering in Adam ear. "So, I'm still the other woman, I see. How come all your girls have names that start with 'L'?" She was ready to make the next silly quip when Coach Sims stopped with his wife. He just wanted to needle Adam about not missing curfew, but he included her in his admonishment. After they left Lindsey blurted out what she had to hold back. "I don't have a curfew. I really wanted to promise him that I would have you in bed well before, but Mrs.Sims was there." She smiled, finishing her drink. "I don't -"

Lindsey was interrupted by Yuto's announcement about hiring a new player. She covered her mouth to stifle a giggle. "Did he just say his name is Rock Woodson?" She eyed the man as he posed on stage with the Dragonettes. She waved to Bob, motioning for him to get pictures. "That can't be his real name."

When Mik came over complaining about his and Adam's history with Mr.Woodson, She looked up at the stage again. "You know him?"

 Adam Shrugged,I played against him Once.. Mik played him twice ,.. He played for Montreal,  he had to cover  the slot.. but we used  two.. so  he would  flip flop between me and Mik..it took us a quarter to  work it out , that whomever  he was one  , would drag him across the filed, and the other   would break under..they tried to stop  that by using Zone?  but  would just  find the  hole and catch   the ball for  10-15 yards  a pop..I scored a 70 yarder?....,,Mik got a 60 yarder..but   he wasn't  covering us  when we did,

 gonna bloody work our asses off now..

Once the introduction, pictures, and necessary waving and glad-handing had subsided, Rock went back and nodded at Payne's answer. "Sounds like a fun style, to be honest. More plays for us means more playing time and more experience. Though like you say, probably not much rest for the wicked. I assume you rotate heavily on our side of the ball?"

The brain trust had already mentioned that they get everyone in on plays from scrimmage, though it remained to be seen if that was going to include Rock for this weekend. Man under looked similar no matter where you played, but some of the complex zone schemes were going to take study and practice. As were the hand signals. And they couldn't just have him in the game to blitz as the offense would adjust to that in no time flat. Football was much more a game of cat-and-mouse or rock-paper-scissors than more people realized.

Lindsey smiled, shaking her head at Adam's description of how they knew Rock Woodson. "You are so funny." She held up her empty glass to the bartender. "I asked if you knew him. I didn't ask how you beat him. I suppose you still answered my question though. Albeit with a lot of extra context that I'll be sure to add in the story I write."

After Adam corrected Mik on the name of the woman he was most interested in for the night, she laughed. "How do you know those women's names? ...exactly?" She picked up her fresh glass and took a drink. "I think I would have liked it better if you mixed them up... or better yet, didn't know them at all."

Adam apologized by wrapping his arms around her waist, complimenting her hotness. Yeah, she liked that. "Well, the hottest reporter who is also the hottest reporter is a really really hot reporter right now and she really really wants to ignite the Bomb and make him explode." She made a show of wrapping her lips around the straw in her drink and sensuously sucking in a long swallow. "What do you think. Wanna go set off some fireworks?"

 Adam  chuckled,Those Ladies  are Dragonette,,almost all of them have been here   since OTAs. They show up at the Hospital, and do the Dragon Stomp? I better  know their  names!

  Finishing his  soda, he waved to  Yuto  and  Pointed to the  door.. Yuto Nodded  and waved.well we did our part for the  night... lets head  Home..you want to ask  the bartender for a doggie bag to take all those numbers    home in?  Boy Friend Rule  say I cannot  aid in that endeavor

as they walked through the entrance  and down the  hall.what's you're  day like tomorow.  We have meetigns at 6 until  1:00 with Lunch at 12.... thenpractie from 2:00- 3:30..then we have to  ge back at the stadium  for the Bus to the airport by 6:00

Ben waved tp the crowd outside then made his way in slowly stopping to shake hands and sign most everything thrust out at him (he drew the line at body parts!).

Inside he hustled up to the front with LuTi for the Stomp. Of particular delight was the news that Lissy was recovered from her illness. Once all the formalities were over, he got himself a cranberry soda and wandered around talking to people.

"Lu-Ti, would you like to eat here or go somewhere?"

 LU-Ti said,perhaps  we can have a   late dinner   before   we go to the townhouse? I do like the food here? But its up to you?  I think we  may have to  use your   entrance in the  foyer... she  gave a Nod to Adam  and Lindsey leaving.

With Yuto's blessing, Adam suggested they leave. Lindsey giggled at his query about the collection of phone numbers she had amassed. After sweeping them into a pile with her arms, she crumpled them into a ball. Hopping off the stool, she then walked over to a nearby trash can and dropped them in. With big motions, she brushed her hands together and sauntered back. "Best I can do without a bonfire. The only number I want is 19." She pecked his lips.

Holding hands, Lindsey followed Adam from the Rising Son. She felt like maybe she should have done more for her job, rather than just greeting fans, but she was tired of crowds and constantly moving. The Pep Rally was just a party at that point and with the announcement of Rock Woodson, there was little else to observe. Besides, her other motivation felt more urgent than any other time in recent memory. On the way out, she gave whomever was out there the obligatory smiles and waves, but she never stopped and nudged Adam forward if he slowed down.

Finally in the car, Lindsey turned to Adam. "Let's go or else we're not going to make it out of this parking lot. And that's not the story we want trending on the internet." Her hand slid over his lap. "Consider this some extra incentive."

  Adam   smiled  as they walked down the carpet to the  cars..  he did  sign a few thigns  before getting  Nudged  along.. He Pointed at Sam   and winked..Fuck yoiu, Bronk..You Bastard!

 Adam  smiled  and called back...I hear that about 20 times again, Sam...that's plagiarizing!

once in the Car, Adam   was greeted  by a very enthusiastic   Lindsey. he  Chuckled  as he  pulled out  rather  quickly,well?  you know what they saw?  any PR is good PR?

 .....this will be alot better, I'm hoping, No Phone calls... Curfew is taken care off... he slid   his right arm  around her. and pulled her close enough  to la=y his head on hers  for a bit.

Rock happily took Mik's offered hand. "Oh, I remember you, San-Guigerre." The pronunciation was spot on - probably due to Rock's time in Montreal. "After I made a house call in the first quarter of the first game, you guys got smart. Still wreaked some havoc in your backfield, but chasing you and Bronk all over that enormous field made for a long day in Hamilton."

He raised his right index finger. "I did enjoy the reverse being true the few times you guys had to punt. There was some dust eating going on then. Wish that had happened more often, of course."

Rock gave a tight-lipped smile and amiable nod to the dragonette. "Hope you're enjoying your evening, miss. I'm Rock Woodson."

He turned back to Mik. "And I'm glad we're on the same side now. I expect lining up across from you guys all week long will make me a much better player. Hopefully you fellas like to bring your A game during the week."

Rock nodded at the Dragonette as she introduced herself. "It's nice to meet you, Stacy."

His attention returned to Mik. "Division games are never nice games, from what I hear. Good that I'll be starting with one, as I'm sure it'll be eye-opening to see the intensity first-hand." A person could hear stories, but it was never the same as stepping onto the field.

"Seems like Vegas has us heavily favored. Beating a team twice in a year is never easy, though is it?" Much less three times. Rock did nod at Mik's whispered instructions. Probably best to see how things played out once the game started. Rock didn't particularly want a reputation for cheap shots in his first game. It would be the exact opposite of how he'd played in Canada and in college. And it wasn't how anyone in his family had played the game.

Though one thing he knew for sure is that he always had his teammates' backs. And San-Guigerre did specify 'within the rules'. "I saw what happened to Miss Montomery. Imagine there might be more of the same. NFL players don't particularly like to be embarrassed."

 Heather was sitting with Nat, and she saw Rock Woodson she knew of him, but he was a free agent she thought, unless the Dragons signed him. Heather smiled at Nat and said," I am going to talk to a new player I think, you may join me or just hang out ok Nat."

 Heather gave Nat a kiss, picked up her soda and walked over towards Rock, he could tell she still was walking with a little limp. Heather smiled and said," Hello you are Rock Woodson Cornerback played in the CFL right? I am Heather Montomery number 12 Place Kicker for the Dragons, are you joining the team?"

Rock nodded politely and offered an oversized hand to Heather as she introduced herself. "It's very nice to meet you, Heather. I am Rock Woodson, most recently of the Montreal Alouettes in the CFL. Season's over up north, though, so I'm here to become a Dragon. Deal should be inked first thing in the morning. I play corner and return punts, probably cover kicks as well. I only ask that you don't turn all our kickoffs into touchbacks so I get some fun now and then, m'kay? Nice and high down to the one yard line." He smiled at the redhead.

Rock looked down at Heather's leg and gestured toward it with an open palm before he looked back up at her eyes. "How's your recovery coming along? Terrible cheap shot from what I saw on replay."

  Mik  gave    Rock a  slap on the  arm,see ya in the Meetings,  Me  an.......
