OOC #3
I thought it was funny, the article was about Martavius Bryant.. he was a head case back here..one of those guts who read too much abiut himself and belived it.. I know thr raiders had him? I can't remeber if he made a stop with theBrowns... but ended up , north of the boarder
I saw the Woodeson name and Laughed.
as a side bar, Right before the end of the Vietnam war, I would have been eligible to play in the CFL ( 'class wise)... My dad's family came over from Hungary , and he was born in Nova Scotia, and was naturalized down here , in PA, to work the Mines.
but..i could have claimed his citizenship and be counted as a Canadian..you are only allowed so many 'imports'..I was going to try out at Hamilton, because an Old Windber Coach was coaching there *Frank Kush'..he played for Windber and in college..his last stint was with Colts..he Coached at ASU before going to the Ti-Cats..My old barber( who just passed away at 93)..was a good friend of his, and guys who played with him at Winber , used to take a Bus to see Hamilton Play... he had a football in his shop that was autographed with the score and such on, from a game they went to.
Any way Kush wasn't up at Hamiton when i would have went up..My Dad and I talked...My brother wanted me to go..My GF( later my wife) didn't want me to go.. In the end, Between my GF and the thing that would lokk like i was 'escaping the draft' kept me here... I never did try there again, though i had tryout with the 1st USFL Maulers( i did great!..but, i guess 'short' never helps)... I tried out for Pittsburgh Gladitors for 1st Arena league..did well there too, but never got a call... a QB from IUP ( closer to Johnstonw) was one of the QBs.. we lit up some DBs in tryout..he made the team,,i didn't ::sigh::... I tried out for J-towns first 'arena' team..but..but then, they said i was 'older then hat they were looking for'
now you have backstory!
