MED TECH 4
Once Teela's vitals were stabilized and she'd received the blood transfusion Hawkeye set to work. She started by controlling the bleeding, in the large punctures. Starting in the abdominal cavity Hawkeye begins by cleaning out the wound, and stopping the bleeding as best she can, next she moves to Teela's intestines which had been torn when she'd been impaled by the beetle. A resection was due and she began removing the damaged portion of the intestines and preparing the ends to be reattached. She worked smoothly and quickly having done the procedure numerous times in the past, it was all too common a procedure when combat was involved. With the two ends finally secured and oversewn to prevent leaks she sterilizes the field to prevent infection. She then moves to Teela's chest, the scanner had determined Teela's heart wasn't damaged or at risk however her lung had been punctured thoroughly. The foam that had been used in the field had maintained its seal.
She cuts carefully around the foam, removing it and opens up Teela's chest allowing her to repair the damaged caused first by the beetle, and by Teela's own ribs being broken by the force. The repairs are painstaking and Hawkeye works with a singleminded determination as the battle rages outside, though this is Hawkeye's specialty. She begins repairing Teela's ribs using care to ensure that the repairs with be robust enough to support the Angel's wings, and her body in flight. Eventually she begins to close, first using Dermafoam to fill the surgical sites, and them dermaplast to seal the wounds from further injury. It is about the time that Shadow is leaving the hanger after his reload that she finally finishes directing her assistant to finish closing, and have Teela moved to the Post Operative Critical Care unit due the risks related to her injuries. Satisfied that she'll receive any updates on changes to Teela's condition she steps away from the table turning her neck to relieve the tension, while stripping her gloves off.
Grabbing an orderly she asks, how are we doing out there? Indicating the triage unit.
