I stopped counting...*grin*  It's nice to have as a metric of how much I've contributed to the game, but I don't actually pay any attention to it until someone points out my post count to me or gives me some reason to go take a look at it.

Tulliun is hoping to finish out the scene with Uvuvu. Would we need to flex that or just run it out?

Yeah,  most of the things  i'll do is  tie off Shadow  and   get  ready   for 'end the day"

if there is  still RP. we can flex  in most  threads, Until tunnel run starts.

Re: OOC #  34

Y'know...if you'd told me, back in the 80s, that Dee Snider would become the voice of common sense from the hard rock world, I would have laughed in your face.

Also...oh, man, the nostalgia of that video.  Vintage TS, made up of equal parts bondage/fetish wear, Mad Max stylings, and bad drag queen makeup.  Nobody I knew in high school...even the die-hard rockers...wanted to be like them, but damned if we didn't all know every single word to that song...*grin*

From what I’ve heard Dee is a very articulate and intelligent guy which Tipper Gore found out the hard way when he and Frank Zappa tore her to pieces

Re: OOC #  34

Yeah...I remember the video clips on the news of him testifying about the whole lyrics warning label thing, in front of Congress.  Everyone was expecting some coarse, angry, yelling maniac and got an incredibly articulate, well thought-out and rational presentation.  A whole lotta people sat back and reconsidered their preconceptions about hard-rock musicians in the aftermath of that.

Oh yeah we’re smarter than people think we are, it’s like Lars Ulrich said; most rockers and metalheads are nerds.

I got to see Twisted Sister a couple of years back at Download festival, we managed to drown out the main stage singing “We’re not gonna take it”

Re: OOC #  34

I watched Dee at the hearings on national news (back in the 80's a lot of things here were 'next day' shown.  beat the 70's 'week delay').  My parents didn't know who he was but said it reminded them of the Hollywood red scare propaganda hearings from the 50's.  My mother who was a beautitian only gave a comment about Dee was that in the video the makeup could have been better.  To her it looked like he was a drag queen version of Bette Midler (my mom used to help cross dressers, gays, and such do makeup and hair.  The shop she had was next to a hotel with a restaurant and once a month the crossdressers, gays, and drag queens would hold a party and come out to families with dinner and a show.  She was the coolest mom ever.  Could rock a leather mini skirt at 50)

Re: OOC #  34

Sorry, I will be slow posting for the next week and a half or so...my annual gig doing makeup at the high school.  This year's offering is Mary Poppins.  I'm having a new bout of Old Man Syndrome...started talking about some of the shows I'd done there in the past..."Oh, you did Aida?  My Uncle played Zoser..."  "Yeah, The Wedding Singer would be really fun.  They did that here, a few years ago...my oldest brother was Robbie..."  "My dad's in his 50s and my mom is 47..." (at which point I think, but elect to not say aloud, "I am literally old enough to be your father...")

But this is also when I kind of reset my enjoyment of theater.  Doing shows with these kids...they're so young that this is all new and exciting for them, and they appreciate the silly little things that you do to make their experience better.  After working with people who've worked cruise ships and amusement parks for a decade and a half and have become somewhat jaded about the whole experience, it's a nice reminder of how magical theater felt when I first wandered into doing it...makes it fresh and exciting for me all over again.

But it does eat up a lot of day hours for me...
