The Largs  and Mila Lined up  at the tins, as  food  was  doled out and the fresh water   filled the  Tother Tins...some still had Ice  chunks in

  Roll was having trouble  , trying to carry Thor, But  would put him down and  let him scamper to  Tess and  eat.

   Sitting Dow, Roll watched  the largs, Until  Sneak asked if he wanted  anything to eat. Roll was worried that he didn't have creds, she  checked his wrist chip and  told him the amount. Mortica had  a Monthly stipend  go in his account, and someone  donated  another  1000 creds... Roll was surprised, and ordered a bowel of Pasta and a Milkshake!

elsewhere  others  were  settling down to eat , and especially, drink..Tunnels  runners  got the rest of the Night  off., Except for the LC who would have Hanger  Dec Duty from2400 hours  until 0600

Sam walked onto the Rec dec with the others, she was tired, and sweating. She smiled at Madison and said as they headed for Shadow's table. " Lets sit at Shadows table, so are you adapting to life on the Hermes, I am technically here from the Burian fleet on loan until I am needed back on Bura." She points at her Burian Fleet patch with N-2 on it.

Zob glanced at Shadow after he swallowed the bite of his burger, "I'm sure med tech is looking forward to it as well" he chuckled knowing how well it usually went with upstarts.

Madison was already feeling the soreness start to creep back in. Two full laps at full speed on top of what she was already feeling caught up much quicker than she expected. It wasn't unmanageable yet, but she wished she had thought to bring her pain pills.

As the walked into the Rec Dec, Madison immediately saw Zob at Shadow's table. He seemed to be lost in thought, but she tried to catch his attention with a wave. She meant to go over to say hi, but then Sam asked her some questions.


"Um, sure. Shadow's table would be great." Well that worked out. "I've been her just a few days and I think I spent more time on the planet than I have on the ship. But I'm adapting just fine. I still need to learn my way around, but so far so good. I've met a lot of new friends. Some very unexpected." Her eyes flicked back up to Zob.

Zob noticed out the corner of his eye after taking a sip of coffee Madison waving towards him, he smiled and returned the wave not wanting to disturb her conversation with Sam so he went back to finishing the last of his burger before it got cold.

 Sam giggled and replied," Ahh well that does happen, maybe after we eat, I can give you a little tour unless someone else has already offered?" She sees Madison wave at Zob and Zob waved back, he was an unexpected friend for most people.

"Thank you, Samantha. Maybe later on the tour. I'm already starting to stiffen up. I overdid it last night and I ran the Tunnel run twice. I think I just need to relax for the rest of the night. Now, if you had some relaxing way to hang out, I can be persuaded"

When they reached the table, Madison slid into a chair and took a moment to settle.

  Shadow  Nodded to the Ladies.,hope you all enjoyed the run. Has to the  the most quiet we havd  for a while

 Shade Bleeped  and Pointed to the Y0oung Guns, Shadow nodded  and the moved off to  sit with them.

 Dusk was  coming off the   Lift, clearly havign showered with  her  wet 'Undine-human hair'

 Flores   said,so?.. we got  rid  of  a headache?

he nodded in the direction of Roy,Roy's  head ache..but  yeah..waited too damn long, too many folks  go wounded this  time, and who knows  what we lost in that  hulk..but..better no one gets it, then us losing people over it. Doesn't Matter..all Done.. I am going to be more hardline with those types from here on out.

 Sam giggled and replied," I understand maybe tomorrow after you have recuperated, I am tired as well. After this I was just going to head to my quarters thats all."

 Sam smiled at Shadow and looked pretty proud," Yes I actually did, it was hard, but I think I did pretty damn well."  Sam ordered a large cold Burian fruit juice, and she took a piece of pizza.

Zob took another sip of coffee, "That headache almost got my team killed down there... but what's done is done and we can move forward with things... i still expect at least one new transfer tomorrow to cause issues it seems to be a tradition" Zob was already thinking about how Shadow was gonna have to beat the hell out of another upstart to prove his point but part of him hoped they were stupid enough to get in his face.

"Sounds, great, Sam. I should only be twice as sore tomorrow, but I'm not going to sit around on my butt all day."

Madison nodded to Shadow. "Yep. It was everything I hoped it wold be and another lap." She grinned.

Her eyes flipped over to Zob again "Hey Zob. How was your run?"

Zob finished his coffee and asked for a refill before turning to face Maddy, "Went smoothly which is surprising given the last two times somebody has been killed rather... horrifically" it wasn't visible on his face but on the inside Zob had a real evil smile at the memory of the Largs tearing the merc apart in the tunnels.

 Sam laughed and said, " Well you will need to mov around tomorrow so will I." Sam smiled at the LC, and Zob as she sat down and relaxed, she was very sore from the run.

The reminder about how the Largs might kill anyone during the run made Madison blanche. More than one person told her of the merc and more than once she was warned to be careful around the Larg pups. Maybe that merc somehow brought it on himself, but that's what tribunals were for. What if Lizzy, or Candy, or Samantha twisted her ankle and accidentally hurt one of the creatures. What if Madison had tripped over one because she was clumsy. Would the leadership just shrug and shovel up her remains? If the Largs were so uncontrollable, then why allow them to run with the rest of the crew? Why were they elevated so high above anyone else that they were allowed to murder people indiscriminately? It was beyond disquieting. It was disgusting, but she didn't feel comfortable raising her objections. If Madison had an appetite at all, it vanished.

Trying to look normal, as if she wasn't disturbed, Madison ordered a large ice tea and took a piece of pizza. She didn't feel like eating it, but she wanted to keep up appearances. Maybe if she pretended to be okay, she would eventually be okay. Samantha continued the discussion about wandering the ship the next day, so Madison focused on that.

"I don't even know if we have a duty schedule for tomorrow. If I'm clear, I'll call you when I'm up and functional. Tonight will be a shower and a book I'm only part way through. Countdown in Sieerra Black. I stopped at a cliffhanger before I arrived and haven't had a chance to see what happens."

 As if On cur..  Larry  came over  with an easy Gait , like a  Prowling Lion..only  no lion  had that much Muscle.

  Next to him was a smaller  LArg, who popped his head  Up  between   Flores  and  Shadow, his head  turning  left and  right..

  Larry Nudged  Beth  with His Nose,, and she  scratched his noggin, a tail thump  could be heard.

  Gregor   was leaning to steal some of the Pizza, when  Shadow's  hand snapped out Like a Viper  and  caught  his  snout... Tye  Little larg's eyes   got  big and  shifted to the LC.. LArry    looked at   Gregor.. and the  smaller beastie.  lowered himself  down..Shadow let go of his snout, and gave him a half eaten piece that shade  left on his plate. Gregor  scooted   under the next table to eat it..

 Larry  Liked at  Shadow, then turned to look at the  elevators.. Shadow  titled his head, ...You wanna  rest?... go ahead?.. Doc will let you in the lab... Max or stiffy will help you get in my quarters,  or  you can roam around..just..um..don't  eat any stray cats..FArmers  need then..I dunno? Asian food ?...

   He leaned Over  and  nudged  Shadow   , who knuckled rubbed his head, and the Big beastie    turned and Left.. Gregor    followed him with a bit of  crust in his  Mouth, but veered off  back to where the Largs were.

 Flores chuckles,no one can tell me, that they don't know what were saying..

Roy chuckled.  "Oh, they know damned good and well what we're saying.  Did a test with some of the newer largs, back on Uden...I gave them very explicit and complicated directions, and they did exactly what I told them to.  I had one of the Nivarians give them similarly complex instructions, in Nivarian...they followed directions perfectly.  Then I had Shade give them instructions, in whatever combination of languages it is that he speaks..."

Roy grinned and nodded, as he continued, "Every single one of them did exactly what they were told.  I'm not sure how to test it, but I'm pretty sure they have some kind of receptive telepathy.  I've seen people do some really bone-headed shit in front of them, intending no malice, and they all seem to ignore it.  And I've seen people try to infiltrate us on the beach on some of the stations...and the largs intercept them before they've cleared the perimeter, much less before they start any trouble."

He chuckled again, and looked around the deck.  "Maybe we should set up a test sometime...Stoly giving directions in Russian, Maria in Spanish...we could pretty easily scare up a dozen or so different languages out of the crew.  Even Lirg, with Hyrian, and Nugest, with whatever the Ape-Folk speak to each other when they don't care if we understand them or not."

Madison noticed the Sgt Major there for the first time. Lizzy had pointed him out to her on her first day, but they had never met. She reached cross the table offering her hand.

"Sargent Major, Hi. I'm Ens Madison Rae Perry. We haven't met. Nice to meet you."

 Sam smiled at Madison and replied," Sounds good I have to check in with SEC in the morning just comm me when your ready I will show you around."

 Then Larry came over, she petted his head and smiled at him, " Yes they seem to know when someone is out to hurt them or just an accident so the wrong people dont get eaten." Sam giggles and then adds, " Yes we also have Burian and Udenese as well SM, I think Mayden can use Verian as well. Yes they are incredibly smart and I am very happy they are on our side." Sam gave Larry a kiss on the head and smiled at him.

 Meari walked onto the Rec Dec seeing a large group at the LC's table, she smiles and heads over just as the SM finished and Sam spoke. " Yes I can try to speak to Larry in Udenese if you wish." Meari ordered a large cold juice drink and took a seat, she then ordered a steak with high trace elements she needed energy.

 Mari smiled and added," So what did I miss sorry it took so long nhad to stow my weapons and get out of that armor."

 Dusk   sat down ,grabbed a slice of pizza and waved to Dana for a drink.

  another Pizza was on its  way.

  ... Roy?... would you like to go to the  Observation Dec... there are something i need to point out, and that is a good place to  do it?

 she smiled  at everyone....the run, was much fun. our ship does not have   as much room... Granmod  did not like the way the run turned out!...

Shadow  snorted.....because she lost to me.... Funny There was a time she  Thought i was   great?.. now? I may as well EDT  Black , in her eyes.

Mila wandered around the Rec Dec looking for Her Human. He didn't seem to be here, not even with the largs who were enjoying their post-run snacks.

Madison nibbled on pizza as she nodded to Sam. "Will do." She looked over at Zob. He was still quiet.

When Meari arrived, Madison scooted over to let let her sit. "Hey Meari, glad you made it."

Zob huffed upon hearing the warlord didn't like the results of the run, "Sounds like somebody needs to get good" he said plainly not carrying if the words caused offense cause in his eyes she was only trying to find excuses for her own short comings and to Zob that made her weak.

Madison nodded. "I should have probably went back to shed all this armor and sweaty clothes. I just wanted to get some Rec time before my runners high wore off. My apologies to the table if my deodorant has worn off."

 Meari smiled at Madison and said," Thank you Madison and you are fine I have fought and been in places at worse than sitting next to a sweaty runner." Meari chuckled and it sounded pretty human like.

 Meari looked at Zob and replied," Yes Grandmod does not like to be humiliated by humans, but also Captain Dusk, Ambassador Shade and myself all beat her, and Vaka as well. I think Vaka beating her upset her even more." Meari laughed that was not human like at all, but she was trying.
