Stefi waved  NA-CA  and  Nikkie  away,nothing more  you can do, Lets hope she  kept up with her training, so her body can fight back..Carru on  you two. but be prepared  as  the LC, or  SM  may call upon you..

 NA-CE nodded and replied," Very well Lt. please let me know how it turns out Lt."  NA-CE smiled at Nikki and then went and restocked her bag and cleaned her equipment to be ready for another call.

Nikki moved to the waiting area.  There she paced a bit then went and opened her comm "Lizzy?  Nikki.  I'm here in med tech." she took a breath before continuing, "Vosts is here in med tech too.  don't think she'll be our fangs" she scratched her temple a moment "Just waitin' on Stefi"

After a bit there was no change Nikki asked an orderly to contact her if she wakesor passes or any status in change regarding Vosts.  She then left to go pick up Haley and call it a night.

  Stefi, left the  Stal allowing  the med techs to work. She  Saw  Nikki  and  walked up to her.

  go home..or rec dec, or where  ever. Nothing you can do here, 9 hells, there might be nothing we can do. Some  pilots get show  down physically, some get shot  down Mentally...The other ships  have  this problems  as well.. we  only had  2 so far. with Lynch and Vosts, a couple guys  took off with fighters, but they were 'dead men flying" you don't  desert the ESN and not  pay the piper.  Now? get going, don't you have a little gril to take care of?

 NA-CE nodded to Stefi and then left Med Tech to head to her quarters for the night. She hoped Vosts would pull through, and she kept her comms on loud and close in case the SM or LC needed to talk to her about the Incident.

 The next morning NA-CE came into Med Tech and went to check on Vosts's condition to see if she survived the night.

 When the  door  Hissed   Open,   The  Desk  Med tech   saluted him and sat back down.... Shadow  just said ...Vosts...

  She Pointed to the back where the recovering  patients  were, The  LC went  down  the guardian at the intersection  showed him to the Room, the planted himself outside the  door.

    Shadow grabbed the   charts from the  Bed, Vosts  looked at him with wet eyes.  He didn't look up0 as he studied the Charts...  why?

  he   flicked through some screens, without looking up, he said again......why?

Stefi  came  running to the  door,   Shadow's right   arm  pointed  at her, then the hand  made the signal to 'stop' she did.

 I...I...couldn't... i couldn't go up again  I...

 He looked at her  and sarcastically said,You were afraid to Die?

  She nodded...

 Shadow threw the    chart scanner on the bed..she  Jumped.. Stefi   went to take a step inside.. he  held his arm out again, The Guardian had turned to stand next to Stefi.So...Ensign Vosts..you  were so afraid  to die, that you thgought you would kill yourself?

 her Eyebrows   furrowed as she  thought..

 LC... she was  under alot of pressure and...

 Shadow walked to where her uniform was folded  on the  chair on  Vosts left  side..... I've  met alot of folks who were  afraid to die...100% of the people  on this boat are afraid to die for some reason or the other... Family...service...or they don't want it  to end  in a ball of fire...

 Vosts  looked up  at Shadow as he fussed with her uniform, tears were streaming  from her eyes.

 we had a few others  who pretended they were going to kill themselves, but they never  did it, and even caused hardship after  friends  stepped in...

 he took  Vosts  Wings off her   Uniform...You can't  fly for a while.....  he stuck the wings in her  front pocket, right below the name plate.Stefi mentioned pressure?  there isn't  anyone  in the whole of the fleet, who isn't under pressure.. cooks  on the rec Dec, hoping they can make  food good  enough for the warriors, who ...just might..be eating their last meal... Stefi and her people trying to put people back together  so they can go out and get shot up again.... we got Stem kids, who thing this  is the best time in there life,  after  falling asleep in some rubble wondering if they would wake up to a  stem rat chewing off their leg... Troopers  hit the  ground  running,wandering if they'll be  alive , an hour after they have landed... and all of us, know we fly out own coffins.

 Vosts tears  run  thicker, but she stared at the LC.

 You never  did  anything stupid, he motioned  to  her in bed,Until now. but  you didn't hurt anyone, Physically... But you caused
 some mental harm? heartache, even?

 He sat on the Bed  Stefi  dared to take a step into the   room, the guardian  stepped with her.

 you can transfer to a colony, you'll have to be SEC  there.. you won't get your wings, so you'll be a ground pounder

 Then, here, on The Hermes, flying  aircraft, feeling the power   as you dove and climbed, twisted  and turned... shooting at the enemy while they shot at you?...maybe. chewing up ground folks, so out  ground  folks can come back for an after party... Flying  in that chunk of metal, and  becoming one with it,,,,

 her  right hand squeezed Shadow's  as  she   listen, a slight  smile on he tear stained face.

 The LC opened  his eyes when he stopped, as did she...can you give, all that up, because you are afraid to die?..you talk to the other pilots.. I want to  meet  any who say they aren't afraid, they won't come back when we go  through  the static  field,, the difference is.. once you're out there, You and you fighter, and you wingmates  and Flight mates  are out there, and you look around   and see the Black full of ESN  steel! If that doens';t make you proud, if that  doesn't  keep your head  in the right place, Then you're more Empire, the ESN..

 Vosts   said,,I ..I never  thought of  it like that....I...was just always worried...

 all it takes is  for   1 powercell in the Engine room to  spilt, and  the fleet would be lucky  to save 100 of the   thousands on board.  If you get killed in a fight, at least you get to take some Empire bastards  with you...it won';t make you any less  dead, but...you'll have gone out, for  a non-selfish reason

  placing her   and   on  her stomach ,he turned to Stefi...Her wings  are taken, until Consulting  set up up.. she has to choose... He started to walk to the door.

 don't Thank me Vosts, just make sure, whatever choice  you makes is yours. After that, its  all up to your  skill, and the luck of the gods.

  Stefi watched him  leave her mouth was a little hung Open, the Gurdian escorted the LC away.

 NA-CE saw the LC go into Vosts's room she was told she had pulled through and she was so happy, but she wondered how she was doing. When the LC came out, she stopped and saluted," LC how is she, I was the Med Tech called to her quarters, the Lt. said you might wish to talk to me Sir. I just came to see if she pulled through." NA-CE held her salute until the LC answered her. Her tough, cold Angel look, softened quite a bit as she talked to the LC, letting him know NA_CE truly cared if her patient made it.

  Shadow returned the salute in an easy manner,as you were  Med tech... She is ok , i supsoed,  i talked to her  a bit. She  needs to get her ehad cleaned out and find out where she  wants to go. This isn't a 'small thing". But we are in a shooting war, and we need peple who are not  only one of us, but can  keep thier heads  glued on

 NA-CE lowered her salute and responded," Yes sir, I am glad she pulled through, and this war hits us all at one point or another, it is how ty handle those hits and get up from them that are important. No she was close to death when I got to her, she is lucky Ens. Rutledge went to check on her Sir. I hope she can get her head umm glued on." NA-CE had no clue what the last part meant but she figured it had to do with Vosts mental state. The LC could tell NA-CE had an issue with his last statement he would be able to sense it in her Angel voice.

 " Thank you, LC sir, do you think the Lt. will let me see her Sir?"

   Shadow  smiled  slightly,You have to  Ask  Stefi..that's her  house. I can throw my weight  around if it  falls under my umbrella... but  that doesn't last  long

 NA-CE smiled and nodded at the LC then said," Thank you LC, good day to you."

 NA-CE walked up to the room where Stefi was just inside the door, she looked in and said," Lt. may I come in." NA-CE had seen suicide attempts before and sometimes the person was mad that they were saved she had hoped Vosts wasn't one of those, she hoped she would do good with her second chance.

 Stefi   sat  by the chair,  Vosts   was still teary eyed. but she seemed less stressed.

 Come on in Corporal.  Vosts? this is the  Med tech that made  sure you made it to  Med tech. You flight mate,  Rutledge, is the one who asked  SEC to open the door.

 NA-CE smiled to Stefi and moved into the room, " Thank you Lt."

 NA-CE looked at Vosts and said," I am glad you pulled through Ens., I am Corporal NA-CE it is good to officially meet you."

 Vosts sort of  helf her  covers  close to her  as he  looked at NA-CE.

 I..I .made a big mistake... The  LC...too my wings, i am supposed to see ifi can get them back or do something  else...

 NA-CE smiled and replied," Yes you did but because of Nikki finding you and me doing my job, you have a second chance, it is up to you what you are going to do with it. I am just glad you have that chance Ens. If you ever need anyone to talk to just give me a call ok. I am surprised from what I have heard and seen of the LC thats all he did, but he must see something in you to give you a chance, now you just have to find that something and go out and do your best."

 Vosts, nods.he ...seemed...abit cross? But..there was...gentleness, and this way of lookig   at what ha0ppened, , like he  wiped  all the  cl;ouds  away... i..I..felt rather  foolish..

 NA-CE smiled and replied," Well considering what you did he had a right to be cross being your Wing Commander. Well I am glad you are feeling that, you get better now and like I said you need a ear I think what the humans say I am just a comm away." NA-CE smiled lowered her head like a bow, looked at Stefi and said," Good day Lt. if yu need me call me."

 NA-CE headed out of Vosts room smiling, of course what she did was wrong, and NA-CE could see it seemed like Vosts was going to do the best with her second chance, NA-CE was just happy they were able to save her, so she had this second chance.

 NA-CE headed out of Med Tech and was heading for SEC when the messages came on the vids. She saw the Paradise second in command, she heard he was a prick even for a Paradise Angel. She watched the events unfold and she pumped her fist when Captian DI-ME plasma bombed the Paradise capital, damn they were good. NA-CE felt pride for her Red and Blue Moon brother and sisters.

 After it was all over NA-CE went back into Med Tech, got her combat med kit and fully stocked it with everything she could carry. Then she went to her quarters to gear up.

Stavros ran into med tech, almost running straight past the lobby looking for anyone that seemed to have some medical skills. He stopped at the first person he saw and held up his left arm, where uniform and skin had formed their unholy union.
Excuse me? Anyone around that can help me fix this?

His tattoos would be ruined he guessed. But as long as they could fix his arm up he'd surely try to be out there again in no time.

   In the Ned tech He was stopped  By a Guardian. who  pointed to the  chairs  where ground crews  where  waiting to get into the stalls that were already filled.

 Have a Seat...Sir. It will be a few Minutes.. even as he   spoke a  haver   cart entered the  Med tech, heads down do they didn't hit the  half closed  Blast shield. A woman dec hand  was  being taken straight back to the Combat OR.

Slowpoke sat down, clearly able to see most of these people had a lot more going on than he did.
He'd give it a couple minutes sure. After all he could still use his fingers, worst case scenario he would be able to fly even with the wounds.
So he waited.

 Stefi came out of the OR  area  , there  was splashes of Blood,  Derma  Foam and  Derma Plast on her   apron, , she took it  off   dropped it inn the   container and  Grabbed a New One.

 She went ot the  Head of the   'line'   called over  a Med tech to help another  woman with a shoulder  wound, her Over halls  were pulled down to the  waist, there was no time for  shy people  now. the med tech    began to remove the shrapnel

 then Nets   fell was asleep..but.. he  didn't respond... Stefi  waved  for him to be takened to OR.

 and so it  wnr. some people getting treated where they say. some being sent away.. One, placed in a black bag and stacked  with others   in the area of Med tech, that was set aside  for such occasions.

 She  Reached  Stavros..well? New  Guy Huh,,didn';t  take you long to earn a purple heart...  You're going to get treated  here.. she  whistled and pointed to the back of the med tech where bodies  were staked.. The  med tech  grabbed a    kit from the   cases and ran it over to her...

 Even as  they worked on wounded, There were  volunteer   Civis and damage control Mopping up    blood  and  bits of  uniforms and flesh, so make it  safer  for those  working there.

  Receiving the Kit.  , she  opened it, expertly picking up a needled  and   slipping a  cartridge in. with out preamble  she shoved the   Needles in at the  Bicep...when the care  was  emptied she   ejected the empty and  tossed it into the  trash..

 Her   visage was  firm.. her  eye brows  furrowed  as  she said,we'll give it a moment , then i'm peeling off that   suit from your arm....,  if the   meds took effect , it will only  sting a bit..if  it hasn't ..it will hurt like the   9 hells... but your  'warlord' will want you back out there. so this is how it is...

 Another crash cart came though the Doors, the   Med tech looked at the   ground crewman and shook her head, she got a black bag from the  Desk  and the Guardians  loaded the  body in, taking it back to the   cordwood  stack.. then they went back out...

 She Looked at the clock  on the  wall  and shrugged, ..Now or never  , Flyboy...... she   took out a  pair of tongs . peeling back the    suit  from the   elbow towards the    wrist.

 She  jerked it  quick, the  sounds  of  wet skin  leaving the  body was audible ..CLENSE!!

 the   lower ranked  Med Tech    sprayed the  arm with a bubbling  solution.. then  padded it dry.  Foam was sprayed on,  followed  by  Demera Past,  then  wrapped  with  self stick tape

  Handing the   instruments she used to the med tech to  take of disinfecting.. she  said to  Stavros..when that  shot  wears off. it will hurt.. depending on how  well the foam sets, it will hurt a little, or alot..  Don't take that Wrap off   for  20  hours, or....if the ground you, you can take it off  in 8...You're  damn lucky  , whatever  burned  your arm didn't  set off your lube, Hydros or  even  crack your power cell.. If they get you a ride, you can fly... now  get out  of here and  get something to eat and drink from the Girls on the Hanger dec.

Thank you Ma'am, Stavros said as he gathered the remains of his flight jacket. Much obliged.

With another nod of appreciation he hastely ran back to the hangar deck.

    The work on Vaka  was touch and Go...  Stefi stepped out and walked  across to her   office.

 she   opened the   locked  metal cabinet   Pulling out a Vial. She Open up her  Private COM to Shadow..

 Shadow? Tjis is Stefi. W ehave the Occui  here..he's  bad..hes  real bad. The  Angel got the shot  right  Under his   armm where the  armor is   most thin...

  Ok? but shouldn't you be fixing Him, instead of talking to a pilot 1 mile or so away.

 Stefi   went to  Vaka, his eyes  were half closed.. his breath was labored..Vaka?   Listen.. we have...some...medicine.. it will hurt  like the  9 hells... but it should help you recover.. I'm strapping you down...

 Vaka  wanted to  say something..but no word s  came out    his   eyes  shut   as he grimaced

  the shot was Gven..and it began...   Vaka  cried out a  few times,  his body lurching  and  twisting  as the   blue serum  traveled through his  system,

  Then he passed out.. his body twitching  and  jerking at the straps.

 walkign out the door  stefi says,No one , under the rank of  LC goes inthere without me..Understand?

 Stefi went into he  offcie  , she took a look at teh  liquor  but settled  for a  soda.

 NA-CE carried her box full of Angel serum, she followed Roy and when Stefi showed up he also opened her box and motioned to all the other containers being carried full of serum. " Lt. where would you like these stored for now and if you wish ma'am I can get you a full count."

 Stefi looked at Roy...she couldn't speak for a moment. Follow me,  we'll take  them to my office. she moved   quickly, opened the door  for  them and hustled   them in.

     she  moved to her Cabinets  and opened the locks, she had  two Cabinets.. they were  deeper then  those of the Angle  vessel with no racks in the doors.

 She roudned on  Roy, the  face was half  of  terror and half exaltation ,what do you mean, 'the LC"..he  was sitting in a fighter craft.

 she loked at  NA-CEPut them in, one  by one, and get a count...take out those two older  vials  they will have to be up front.

then she looked back at Roy.

 ALL OF YOU.... not a word  of this to anyone... these are gifts, but they come with a price...we cannot use them  on everyone, some won't survive...so..they don[t exist! Any of you talk about this, you'll pay a deep  price.

 NA-CE replied," Already done ma'am." NA-CE removed to older ones, then began carefully storing all the vials she and Roy had, plus all the ones brought in by the others. She counted them as she stored them. She put the older two up front when she was done. " Yes Ma'am I know what those do, and yes they do not exist Lt."

Roy set his container down gingerly, and gestured for the others to hand theirs off to him at the doorway, to limit the number of people who came into the room and saw where the vials were stashed.  As he ferried containers from the doorway to the counter next to the cabinet, he explained, "Well, apparently word got to him after Vaka was dropped off that supplies were dwindling.  And since we pretty much had control of the ship at that point, with the dropship troopers coming in as reinforcements, Shadow suggested we see if we could find our way to a MedTech area.  The Angels weren't going to be needing it anymore, and the dropship troopers probably have no idea what it is, so it would likely have just sat there."

He set down the last container and looked Stefi in the eye.  "If he hadn't said something, I would never have thought to go looking for it.  We cleaned out that med bay, so there may be more somewhere else on the ship...but with as many vials as it is, and how sparingly it gets used, I figured this would last us a while.  And if anyone else in the fleet needed it, you'd know better than I who that would be and how to get it to them."

He shrugged, summing it up by saying, "Thanks to the LC, we should be set for a while.  And now we know where to look for it in future engagements.  Might want to see about setting up some additional storage...maybe a cooler in the Black Hangar?  We can pass word through the fleet that we discovered something on that ship, and any recovered salvage should be checked for medical facilities.  If there's more medical sections still intact, we could build up a stock, or send it on to the hospital ships...probably best to NOT let the salvage crews know what we want to recover...maybe let them think there's some kind of infectious agent that we're searching for.  I know most of 'em are just doing an honest job...but we've been screwed over too many times by should-be-honest people.  What they don't know won't hurt us."

   Stefi snorted and shook her head,that's  crazy. Who would have thought he would have the foresight...

 you'll have to  tell him i said thank you...you have to know, what those things will mean right now.

 NA-CE finished the count and said to Stefi," Lt. we have 487 vials stored safely."

  Stefi  was shocked , despite  seeign the   gathered , turning to  Roy  once more,we  will have to get the  techs to install a few more  cabinets  like these in the Balck Hanger. It may be some extra  work, rotating them  as we get them in. But we will have  supplies  we can   gift to other  ships, sparinglyas well as we continmue to get our  alottment from the  Moons. If I understand it  right, both  Astra and Bura  have   plantaions for the flowers needed to amke this  stuff.. but even at that, it  takes   alot of them.

Roy grinned.  "Lyri will love it.  Next ship we board, SHE gets to go after the bridge...my team will be looking for Medical..."

He glanced at the cabinet.  "We started out with...what, twenty-five vials?  Spaced them out over almost seven years..."  He shook his head, and added, "This should keep us stocked for a while.  You'll need to start vetting Medical personnel within the Fleet...find out who you can safely share this stuff with, and not compromise us as the source.  We already have enough assholes decide they want to take down the Hermes because the Admiral's based here...if they knew there was something like this aboard...ESPECIALLY in large quantities...they'd be throwing whole fleets at us, instead of a few boarding shuttles."

  Stefi held a  hand  to stop  Roy a moment,we get   25 per shipment , from the Moon, some of theother ships  get as  litle  as 10. we get more, because   we're  firts in , it seems. anyway, for  adutls  ,, it takes  a vial, for kids we use a half a vial, and  we  they   water  down that half vial and use it for Civies  who have extreme problems

There is a look of concern, we  may have a lot, but  the way this war is going?  I mean..look? you took this off one  ship?

 she waved her  had  above her head,For the Captain? we gave her   two doses  when she was  wounded on Nivar, to try to save her  and  her child,she  broke  her left arm during the   seizures. But...the child  could not take the  strain, and sadly, even that  blue  stuff  can fix  everything.. That's why The captain would be  having any kids.

Roy nodded.  "Some hurts can't be fixed, no matter what the medicine may be.  We still need to keep this quiet...we can let people know we have some available, but they definitely shouldn't be allowed to know how much we have.  ESPECIALLY if we manage to acquire more on this scale."

He gave her a somber look.  "There's a handful of my people who know what we got, because they were there.  Myself, Na-Ce, Zob, Hemsly, Shade, Lirg, Nugest...maybe a few others who figured it out on the shuttle.  Stoly, Shadow...I should let Lyri know, if we're going to start shuffling assignments on the shuttle assaults, otherwise she's going to wonder why I'm not leading the bridge assault.  Aside from them, the only other people I'd tell would be the Admiral and Captain Si.  No idea which of your people you want to keep informed.  But the fewer, the better."

  Stefi agreed with a look around  , she kept the   Angrl coolers , telling  NA-CE to take them to  the sterilzers and add them to thier  own coolers.. She  smiled and  held up a waste basket ...

 This will be  in my office. those others  can be  added  by the main desk and  first aid  area. those Boxes, send them to the hold for storage,. Us Med tech folks  don't get many  souveniers.  another  smile came to her  face.

 The Admirals   talk with AP-LO came onto her  screens . The screen went back to sleep when it was finished. a backhand wave at the screen , Stefi said, Doesn't that creep you out, that some  woman with Multicolored  hair and  turn anything on or off  with a flick of her  fingers?  Its  worse now that she stopped were hells, you can even hear her coming with those  dec shoes on.

Roy snorted softly.  "You're asking the wrong guy.  I spent twenty years snuffing out people from distances far enough away that they could have looked right at me and never seen that I was there."

He grinned, and added, "But I'm beyond grateful that she's on our side."

His comm buzzed, and he looked down at the message.  "Well, duty calls.  Glad we've got the medicine in safe keeping.  Hopefully, more will be coming."  He gave a casual salute before he turned and left, heading for his meeting with Admiral Hack and the Board members.

 NA-CE took everything to the sterilizers and did as Stefi said, NA-CE nodded at the SM as he left, NA-CE turned to Stefi, " We were lucky to find those, I am still wondering what they were doing with those live humans. Lt. any more word on Vaka, do we know if he will pull through yet, or still too early."

  The Med tech looked at Meari,.. At the moment , he's recovering.. He had  some reactions to the  treatment,  it is anticipated they he will pull through.

 Meari had a look of relief, " Thank you very much, do you know when he might be able to take visitors, and do you need any help."

 Meari helped out in Med Tech for some time, and then went in the back for Med Techs and medics can get some fast sleep. Meari took an open bunk, set her alarm and tried to get some rest plus she was happy Vaka would pull through but it was close.

 NA-CE followed Stefi's instructions on handling the Angel serum. She had heard of it and it was amazing and gentler on Angels as she heard it is very tough on humans. Once she was done storing everything properly she looked at Stefi," I will not tell a soul what those are, I have heard they are much harsher on humans then Angels. Being a Medical Moon Angel I do have some knowledge of those and if you ever need my assistance Lt, I will be ready."

  Stefi gave a sad  smile to  NA-CE,not just humans.. all  aliens  to  the Angels suffer from the  cure. I  was  surprised  Vaka  is still in one  piece...we used it on Gregor... the LC might have more in him the  the rest of the Crew.. Roy, a few others.. I use it  sparingly  and  i water  down   anything we  use on Civies... it doesn't help  then as much as if  i didn't thin it out..but   it  gets them on thier  feet sooner

" What other aliens have used it besides Vaka, that is interesting the Angels made it that specific such assholes to the core, I am so glad I was born on the Blue moon. Yes that makes very good sense, maybe by studying the cure I might be able to find a way to temper it in humans, I wonder if we introduced some angel blood with the serum at the same time so the Angel blood could carry it through the system easier hopefully, It is just an idea Lt."

 Stefi  though for a Moment.we used it on Frakas , when he was almost killed, because  of  head case we should have spaced.... he  didn't fare much better then  any other alien. he broke one of the straps.. but  we used  two on each arm and leg.  The only way i would introduce Angel blood, into a human,, would be to  use it on a prisoner. That way we do not lose  an important person, should things go  wrong.

 NA-CE nodded and replied, " That sounds like a good idea Lt. if you need Angel blood I will volunteer some of mine. " NA-CE was going to say more but the red alert sounded.

 " Well looks like time to go, see you after Lt." NA-CE got her gear ready, made sure all her supplies where topped off and then ehaded for the Hanger Dec.

 You're  done  for today... you can man a keep board, but nothing esle.. There is still alot of crap goign on out there..but its startign to  slow  down

 Sam tried to smile at Stefi and she said," Well I guess I am just lucky then, patch me up Doc so I can go back and help out." Sam then drifted off as the pain meds hit and they began to remove her armor.

 Sam woke up she looked at Stefi smiled and said," Yeah I kind of stood up just as they fired it was really bad luck and timing. Well I am very glad they dont, there are those weird blade guns. "

 Then Stefi told her she was done for today, Sam sighed and replied," So I cant go back out and help out, or am I staying here for the night or my quarters. I guess I am not sure what you meant by doing typing , I can type at the Warroom right Stefi?"

   Stefi checked her COM,In another hour , you'll be heading to yoru quarters.. Tommorrw  afounbf 8:00 come in and  we'll see if you can   work the   war room I have to Get beth in here too. But  , unless she comes in herslef, I'm leaving her out there....She ssnart ebough to know when  she need elp, and hard core  enough to keep  gpig  anyway.. I Blame Shadow and Roles, she hung out   with those  two  since  Junior high.. can't  be a good influence.

 any way..get rest..you can watch thw screens..but that doctor..from Haifax ?  when he  improved   Derma plast and  Derma  foam for us, the  odd  offshoot of that, was it works faster  when you sleep..almost like ti doesn';t want you to see it?... the more sleep, the faster it works.

  Sam smiled, she was feeling much better, still sore but much better. " Yes ma'am I will see you 8 am tomorrow morning. Wow what type of pain killers are you giving me Doc?"

   A younger med tech entered  Sam's room.Ma'am you may go to your quarters  now. Lt Simmons would rather you not  be on the hnager Dec, in case of  another  attack. since you won'[t even be able  to run very fast?

 Sam was sore but she got up carefully and she responded," Thank you, would it be ok if I just dropped by the Hanger Dec to let them all know I am ok, it was a bad looking scene when I left?" Sam was limping on her hurt leg and her left arm was in a sling to take pressure off of her hurt shoulder.

 The doors  were raised  to 3/4 way up allowing the  wounded to be passed through   quickly. Those who entered the   Med tech saw lower ranked medtechs  mopping  blood, while   other Med techs  worked on  wounded. There was a very large number of Dec crew among the   wounded, and one would assume, among the  stacks of dead.

Stopping  with Paskins  at the  Desk,,Stfi  came out  , her apron more bloodied then it has been in a while. get the trooper out of that thing, so we can see what we have to work  with...who the 9 hells  patched  these holes with foam!

 Sam smiled at the tech and headed out towards the Hanger Dec since it seemed like this part was over but she wouldn't stay long.

Upon entering busy triage area, Tarja would take a moment to remove her helmet, her fingers clumsily fumbling with the catches at the back of the helmet before lifting it off of her head and placing it under her arm. Assailed by the strong smells of blood and antiseptic she would screw up her face in distaste before replying to the question concerning the foam ”it was that or he would suffocate on trip over” she said, covering for the trooper’s actions before swiftly moving on to the suits removal ”I will talk you through it “ she said indicating that trooper Giles would have to do it as her own fingers were far too clumsy whilst in the suits gauntlets ”You have boot knife yes? I will show you fast way” she said before showing Stefi and Giles a small panel just above the suits left hip, which once popped open with the tip of a knife would reveal a ring pull. A quick twist and a pull would be followed by a series of loud pops and flashes as the explosive bolts detonated and the suit fell to pieces allowing the medics to get to Paskins ”I will show you less destructive method another time” she continued knowing that she could acquire new suits easier than new recruits.

In Med tech, the   techs   watched  as the armor   'popped apart'

 Giles   watched and shook his head,Can you put that back together... there is another  jump off  coming soon

 The med techs looked at Paskins. Stefi pulled   Tarja aside..I'll say this up front.... if this was the end of a Jump off.  we might bebale to  save the trooper. but it would be weeks, before   the wounds  heal. I'm not a Mech rider, but i have to assume, that had this trooper not been in that  armor, , you could have brought most of   him back in a plastic  bag.

 Her voice got even lower...because we're goign to invade  the planet of the gods, we may need  every trooper  we can get. But this is your call, not mine.. we can give him somthing , that will have him ready by Jump off...but he's goign to go through all levels of the 9 hells..the cure ...might even kill him... so? what do you say.

 NA-CE  entered   , Stefi saw the cabinets... she excused her  self  and said to NA-CE...The QM  has  set  up a  safe pace with   coolant  flow to  secure those,.. I filled my cabinet   and sent the rest  to the Balck Hanger.. I  am Putting you in charge of these... take the   cabinets to the    Balck Hanger  and the QM's  people will  get them loaded into the  refrigeration  containers. Tell the QM   I said you are  BH-M....

There was a downcast look as Tarja picked a piece of what had once been a vambrace; its edges blackened and curled ”parts can be salvaged, but no…suit is dead…I judged troopers life to be more valuable” Tarja quietly replied to Giles question, saddened by the suit’s destruction but knowing that she had made the right call as removing Paskins from the suit could have otherwise proved fatal.

Looking at Paskin’s it was clear that he was in a bad way, with her agreeing with Stefi when she said that without the armour that he would have been turned to paste. It was then that she was asked if she wanted to use some kind of drug or procedure that would cause Paskin’s to recover far quicker but at the cost of great pain and the possibility of death. She would silently think about it for several moments before shaking her head ”No…there are no other suits even if it worked…do what you can to save him, he will have place in unit when he recovers” she replied not wanting to risk condemning him to a painful death for no reason ”I…I need to return to unit…is there anything else?”

  Stefi shook her head,No?  carry on. we  wil patch him up. as  best we are able, and sit if he will be fit  for  duty, ort   Invalided out, or take a job as  as  Hermes   Passage way guard.

There was a pause as Tarja considered Stefi’s words with her hesitating and making a false start before speaking in a halting voice ”Will…procedure…increase chances of recovery and return to duty?” she asked trying to better gauge the situation and his chances of recovery with her feeling more than a little uncomfortable making such a decision on his behalf ”how likely is it he will recover and return to duty without…procedure?”

 Stefi thought for a Moment, and she   waved  Tarja over to the desk where she   pulled over  a   tablet.

  she   crumples up the  first page,  then takes it  off the pad.., because of the  crumples, it  did  not tear easy.. and some  parts were left on the  pad, while there was a bit of a tear on the  crumpeld   paper.... Stefi tries to smooth the paper out, but there are creases  and the  tear and the missing bits..when some one was hurt as bad as that... this paper  is an example of what they wil be like after...

 she  cleans  of the bits for the pad  that were left behind.... she tears of  then next sheet.. it is  smooth, and she did  nor crumple it...for what  the  Juice   we  would give him . This  is what he  could come out   like....You have seen a few of our poeple who went through it. one or two? a couple times....

 she    holds  up her finger, then   grabs the next sheet, carelessly   putting it from the pat, there is a  pit of a rip, and  a small part stuck on the pad..

 This....can be  what happens to some.. The Juice  reacts with your won system..the  tougher.. stronger you are.. the better  you are...

 NA-CE replied, Yes Ma'am, I will tell them about the Card BH-M. Thank you Ma'am." NA-CE went with the cabinets to the Black Hanger, she followed Stefi's directions and they found it.

When beckoned to do so Tarja would follow Stefi over to her desk, her heavy boots clunking on the decking as she went. Watching the demonstration with the paper she would get the basic idea that the “juice” would restore a person back to health quickly and without any lingering effects unlike traditional methods. Unfortunately didn’t come without any downsides as evidenced by the footage she was then shown.

The footage was harrowing, not that Tarja’s face betrayed any reaction to the footage, with her once again questioning whether she wanted to put a man through that without their say so ”you said there is risk of death…I want to know odds” she asked in a cool, emotionless voice with it clear that Stefi’s answer would influence her final decision.

   Stefi gave a shrugs, she might  have been talking about the pint spread for the Next Hermes game.

 About the same  as if we treat him normally.. If you're  asking   what his chances  are for  survival from the Juice?.. I couldn't tell you, I don't know  much about him...  All i can say for certain. Is  we can  save him, without the Juice. we don't know what kind of recovery, nor  do we know how strong his will and  body are,    she shrugs,Some folks we have had  use it, it was a no  brainer. They had the   head and body to make it through. some others  we flat  turned  down, ratgher then waste   the Juice. Paskins is lukcy, we have some extra... But he cannot  make the Call., If we didn't have a Jump off coming. I would  say, we roll the dice  and hope he can  find some kind of career, if his body fails him. But  with 'all hands  on dec".. we can get him  up.. and at least  serve   on the hnager Dec, , if the  invasion lasts  longed  then  i day, he might be able to take the place of the  next trooper that dies.

The answer she received wasn't exactly what she had been wanting to hear, with the weary non-com raising her hand as if to pinch the bridge of her nose or run her fingers through her dark hair only for her to stop short. She would curiously stare at the red stains on her palm and fingertips, silently asking the question whose blood is this? Is it Paskins? or someone else's? Deciding that crushing her own nose would be a poor move she would slowly lower her hand before quietly replying "ok...do it" with her praying that she was making the right decision.

  Stefi waved to them to  take the Trooper to the  Combat ER OR.. and they Hustled  him back...

 Looking at Tarja , Stefi  said  slowly,This isn't the choice   anyone thinks of, when they sign up.  It will be  a bit until the.....effects..end. I will COM you.

 Vaka, was   walking slowly with  his uniform on, but the tunic  not  Buttoned  yet. Stefi saw him...No Heavy stuff.. get rest. your  body heals faster that way..

 Thank you. I go to see how my  friends fared. he gave a weak  smie,  walking   with a bit of a Hunch over.

Tarja would nod her head with her still wondering if she had made the right decision ”Please tell me of his condition, Hipper too, team will want to know how they are” she said as she watched them take Paskin’s into the OR, hoping that it wouldn’t be the last time that she saw him ”I’d best get back to team” Tarja quietly said knowing there was nothing more she could do.

As sometimes happened, Alison was in Med consulting with some of the staff there about the needs of two of her patients.   When suddenly a well-familiar face showed up:

"Ah, there you are! So. Do you come here often?  Nothing serious I hope?" she kidded Justin.

In reply to Dr. Alison Verault (msg # 72):

Justin smiled I just realised I've been in this area 80 times more than I used to be. glancing at his left arm It's a tad on the tender side.

"Well, lucky you.  I'm trained and authorized as a ship's doctor.   I can certainly tend to basic cuts and bruises.  C'mon."   

She took her vidboard and signed him into the medical log. Then, motioning for him to sit on one of the open beds, she began to examine his injuries, using a scanner to get a better look at the cuts and bruises.

"Yep...looks like you've got some minor lacerations and contusions, alright. I'm gonna clean them up and apply standard dermal invigorators, to speed up the healing process, okay?"

   Stefi stopped   and looked at Justin  with Alison...You know  we have   about 8 more   people out there  who need patched up  for real? abnd you  wasting bed space on scuff?  You want to get  throw on an apron and  see if   we can get some of those  8 people out there, to see   tomorrow..

 With all due respect, Lt Simmons.. we  are objectors, we only   fight to aid  the  wounded and med techs...

 Stefi walked up to the man who had a  good  4 inches on her, but somehow he seemed smaller.Objectors?   because of  beliefs handed  down  to you from the bastards  we  are fighting right this moment? she eyed him and Nodded,I lost  two Med techs , because  Guardians  were afraid to engage.. One was Killed, the other  one  drummed out on the Guardians  to  SEC....So? here's what's gonna happen. You are taking the  more experienced  Guardians  and  walk on onto that Hanger Dec  to  help protect the rest of the ship..whic? Just so happens, have   med techs and wounded on it.... OR..You can refuses,
 and I will send   you and the oldest Guardians  to  protect  the Delta  Colonies..and ..it will happen with in the  next hour, if you fail to follow my orders

 NA-CE arrived at Med Tech, she looked around to see of there was anything she could help with as she made sure her pack was restocked and ready to go.

  Stefi saw   NA-CE.we have   Kase  in a stall there.. if he does not respond son, we  will have  to send him to a Med tech vessel.. You can check on him if you want..we're waiting for Tox draws  to see if he was doing somehting he shouldn't

 NA-CE smiled then replied," Oh he is so we dont know what happened let me take a look maybe something from the Blue Moon had a bad rection?"  NA-CE will then head to check on Justin's condition.

 NA-CE was checking Kase out and she found fluid in his lungs, NA-CE went out to the others. " It is not the stomach it seems he breathed in liquid most likely his beer he was drinking, we need to clear out his lungs."

 The med tech on  duty pointed to  the  facemask  and small generator ,Have  at  it Corp... just make ssure you flip the  switch right or you blow out his   lungs  and we'll have to back him.

 NA-CE quickly goes to work to remove the fluid from Kases lungs, she would follow all procedures and try and save his life.

 NA-CE finished up and as she was putting everything away, Justin just got up and left without saying anything. NA-CE picked up his chart and wrote a few things on it then headed out of the room to look for Stefi.

Taking advantage of the time NA-CE was putting away equipment Justin slipped into the bathroom to change into his uniform. Emerging he greatfully thanked NA-CE for her efforts and commitment. Hey Doc can I buy you a few drinks or a bottle of something?

 NA-CE smiled and said, "I was just doing my job Lt. but I will take that drink after the tunnel run. You have been cleared to run Sir."

 NA-CE smiled and replied," Yes I will be running as well." NA-CE began to straighten up the room. NA-CE then added," Glad you are ok, now be more careful Sir."

 NA-CE had gone to Med Tech to help out and get resupplied, Vaka headed to the tunnels to help out with an exercise. NA-CE was all smiles and was enjoying her time with Vaka he was amazing, and extremely skilled in bed. NA-CE kept her mind on her work.

 NA-CE spent the day and the night in med tech, training, helping out and just helping others. She spent the night at med tech and woke up in the morning going back to work. She sent Vaka a comm text message," Hope you had fun in the tunnels I am at med tech drop by later maybe we can get lunch."

  Vaka  COMed.  I have   watch  from 0800 until 1200. Then i have  off for the  day.. see you soon.

 NA-CE smiled then sent a message back," Ok then I will see you after 12 then, we can meet at Med Tech or the Rec Dec or wherever you wish Vaka ok." Once the message was sent NA-CE went to work helping out with patients and cleaning up.

  Vaja  held the donut in his  teeth  as  he  and Lirg  went to   patrol the   whole of the officer's  dec..

 NA-CE smiled as she read the message and set back," See you then." NA-CE then went back to work helping out Med Tech and any patients they had.
