   Shadow walked into the OB Dec,  only a few people where there at some of the tables  eating a quiet meal.

  He stopped at the  Bar and  got a  Soda   and   headed over to the chairs  by the  windows. Then he  pulled up the Vidmachine and Punched in a Number, settled into  watching the stars ahead of them..as the song  played on a loop...

   Frans came onto the OB dec. She got  a stiff  drink from the  bar tender  and walked to the  main windows, Sipping on the Drink  she looked  down at  Shadow who has his feet Up On the  window ledge and sipped  his soda.

   After checking on his fighter ( for the 10th time), Shadow went to the  OB Dec for a  Cup of Coffee and watch Fuji get closer.

  Beth Had  Tracked him  downto sign off on some paper work, and Took time  to  enjoy a Cup as well.

  even destroyers   towed  , large chucks  of Nest ships with them. As the  Delta  Fellt 'came home'

 Sanri and Occui  ships were out at the battle 'field' Collecting   Nest ships fragments  and   towing   destroyed  enemy vessels to take to  Zolth, Astra and Bura.

 One Sanri mechant fleet agreed to  town  shattered Demon vessel to the delta  Coloies.

  Garrat takes a piece of pizza bits in and thinks for a bit.

  "I think it's premature to call it fubar.  We learned a lot.  We have enough genetic material to make those creatures for ourselves and maybe improve upon them.  We know about demon religous cults glorifying drakes.  We gained knowledge and probably the cooperation of an intelligent life form right here in the Fuji system, and we got the Demons to show their hands on some of their objectives.  We also gained a lot of experiance and Ideas about how to expand current protocal and why current protocals work.

    I must confess, I was besides Ajax when he went in and the integrity of the floor was not in the forefront of my mind.  Your taking some of your heat for my mistake and I think the Admiral knows exactly what your doing for me and over half a dozen other people involved.\

    The gig is in the military, someone always has to pay when shit goes down, even when it wasn't really due a breach in protocal or orders.  I believe the Admiral may actually have been relieved when you took responsibility.

    In the end, we need to build precautions and procedures and this mistake WILL save us from worse mistakes down the line.

    But then that's my ...not so humble opinion.

 ..The OB dec..not the normally place you send  some on... but the Admiral knows how to shoot and his aim is always  good.... I brought Hannah here once, that sorta lead to our first date?..been up here alot, with other folks, using it to help  ease pain, or gain perspective?

 ShUmaker Looked down, the BAr Keep  patted  Shadow's shoulder   and went back to the abr, giving Garrat a wave  of thanks for 'real ' pizza.

 ..so?... its  not as nice  a place to be locked in...especially when the Admiral set the table  when he fired his salvos....

  Then he turned to garret,... no one..in thier  right mind..sends  armor into a place  without making sure, the armor can come back out..hell..i know that from freshman days.....somewhere....  some  instructor said to these guys,"..oh?.. don't go into a place  you can fall into a gods bedamned hole!

 The  BAr keep  hit another  Button and  nodded with a sad smile to Shadow.

"And no one goes running off without back up.  The only reason I wanted to go in alone is because I had faith I'd find Ajax soon."  Garrat takes another bite.  He was coughing blood after the fall.   I think he figured that was it for him and wanted to do as much damage before he went as he could.  Before that, his panties were in a twist about ending up in a situation where he fired on civilians.  I think he felt he had to prove he was worth it by taking the battle to the enemy.  I'm sorry if this hurts your career sir.  Again I did my part.  I should have been more agressive about stopping him.  I was once a Captian after all.  I know better.  But for Ajax's part....well, we don't know if he'll ever be able to do combat again.  I'm sure he'll be grateful for what you've sacrificed."

   Garrat turns to Shade "And I owe you an apologie for not bringing you back a drake claw."  He holds up a melted boot knife "But this is what happened when I tried to get you one."

  Shadow  Nods   as he listens to the tune,..yeah..well... I don't know if  i have any more cards  to play, so..if something like this happens again, I might not be able to step up.... Don't  know what i would have Done  if  Morgan would have refused to send the order along?... it would have been one hell of  a mess, trying to  figure out   which one of us  would have been shot first?.. I guess they would have done Ajax  first, then Morgan..then me?.. save more of last, so the Vids  could make more money....

 there was a quiet anger in his Voice, but Garrat could  tell it was more directed at himself.

 Shade  reached  for  Shadow's Shake hand tried to bring the  Cup up to  his face,  spilling most of the Shake on  Himself and Shadow...

  His   eyes  flashed to a pure whit as he looked at  Shadow, almost cringing...

  Kray Looked at the   shake on his  Uniform and Shade's body.. Its....fine.... what better way to end the  Day..Huh?

  Shade 's  eyes   went Green, Shumaker  and   the barkeep   came over  with some wet towels and dry towels  , Shadow  Tucked Shade Under His  arm Like a football  and Moved to the other side of Garrat after they Cleaned up...  The little creature's   head Looked  around  as he was carried, but settled down as Shadow showed him how to use the straw.

  while   Shade   chewed  and sipped he looked at the   melted  boot knife..he   moved a few   inches away  his eyes flashing white again.

Walking in he takes in his surroundings, and heads over to Garrat, listened at a respectful distance and gets a bite of pizza, and a drink, he sees what the LC is drinking, thinks he'll try one, and orders a shake, chocolate. He hods to Garrat as the Viking heads out.

Arriving at the Observation Deck just a few short moments after Slick, Hawkeye stops behind him. "Slick," She says softly, but audibly. She tilts her indicating a quiet spot away from others, She opens the scotch and takes a sip offering it to Slick. "Ajax got it bad. Broken ribs, internal damage, a lot of mess." She takes another sip, "I fixed him up best I could, couple hours work, everything back in place." She continues offering the bottle again to Slick staring out into the black, "He's still got a rough road ahead, I wont lie to you, a lot of complications could happen in the next 24 hours, and only a rare few of them have a happy ending that any of us Medical Staff can control." She looks at Slick, care and empathy in her eyes, "I know he has a daughter, she's gonna be wondering after him soon. I don't want to be the one to give her the news her pa's been shot up" She pauses, "I can, it's part of the job, but I think it'd be better from someone she knows well. Someone who can tell her the truth without lying to her or making things seem dire." She frowns shaking her head, "I'll keep you posted via comm text, best I can..." she says trailing off letting Slick speak. It occurs to her she should send Rolf a message once she finishes talking with Slick.

  Shadow Turns  and greets  Slick with a Nod. Shade sits  with a slice of Pizza   chewing on it, his little  head turns around  and   watches  each person as they come and Go, but otherwise stays   close to Shadow as he   eats  and   'draws' on a Vidboard.

  The LC gives   Cat a wave as she comes in , then turns away as she pulls Slick off to the side.

However as the viking notices him and Catrina enter, he pauses a bit.  If allowed he overhears what Cat has to say.  "Thank you Catrina, Please tell me when he's concious enough to receive visitors."  Garrat turns to Slick.  "Now I need to check on Billy.  He will need a friend on this ship if he is to recover well.  He took some serious burns covering Ajax and sometimes medical bays can be scarier than the battlefield for an injured soldier."  Garrat looks hard at Slick, this hasn't been easy for the Mech mechanic, "When you have time I would like to speak with you later."


    Once aknowledged Garrat continues to the med lab

  taking the drink offered and the explanation as to his friend, Slick listens to what Catrina gives him in way of information, and advice. He nods as she speaks, thanks her for the drinks and the time. Thanks Doc, I really appreciate it, I'll go see him as soon as you let me know he can have visitors. Watching her leave, he finishes the drink they shared, and responds to Garrat in the affirmative. I'll comm you when I have finished with speaking to Sam. Although I'm not sure I should be the one to tell her, I barely know her myself. yeah, Garrat, I'll get with you. better track her down.Thanks.

 absently eating another piece of pizza while thinking about how, or what to tell Sam, he finishes his shake, and realizes he just mixed pizza, ice-cream and whisky. what a day this has been.
 Turning to the LC, he comes to attention, and renders a crisp salute. when returned he turns and sets off to find Sam, .....

   Looking at Slick as  he salutes, Shadow returns an easy salute.  He Looked at Shumaker as  it became quiet again.

 Shumaker   Shrugs  and Listens to the Music, the   LC set it on loop.

    Shade is bobbing his head to the music  as he  is drawing some  more  planet pictures...

Hawkeye leaves Slick to his thoughts and stares out into the black for a moment, with a frown. This was the tough part of the job, it never got easier, no mental anesthesia. She looks at the little bottle in her hand, still about half full. Fairly expensive, well aged smooth, she sighs tucking it into a pocket and pulls out her comm, heading generally towards her quarters she walks slowly kinda in thought, as she sends a comm text:

[Rolf: Hey, just wrapped up. Wandering back towards my quarters from the Obs Deck, tough day at the office. You make it back alright?] She keeps walking feeling tired, and slightly drained.

After a quick shower and change, Garrat comes in with his I-pad thingy and sits cross-legged on the floor, his hand flying across the screen.  Diagrams of circuits and capacitors on the market flying across his screen with runic translations underneath.  Finally he has a list of what he needs and gets on the com. "Yeah Gresh? I have some electronic equipment I absolutely need to get my neural uplink going.  I'm sending them now.  Can you handle it?"
