Baldur's Gate (not 3)

I have this idea to use the original Baldur's Gate CRGP as a canvas to run a sandbox campaign on top of, starting out in Candlekeep with the characters all being either foster-children to the sage Gorion or some other local resident. The players have one thing in common - they are all orphans. This goes for original characters as well as any new ones joining along the way.

I want to use Old School Essentials (Advanced Tome) as ruleset, perhaps with some additional rules from the zines (item based encumbrance for example).

The campaign itself will start out small with some schemes and troubles in Candlekeep before moving out into the larger world, exploring the Sword Coast at your leisure. There will be changes from the computer game, necessary adaptations to make it suitable for table(well)top but also to keep players familiar with the game guessing.

Would there be any interest for this?

I wouldn't mind at all. ToTSC added, it was perhaps my all time favorite game.

Keep me in the loop, please.

It would be quite a campaign if the PCs stopped to look in every tree knothole in the forest and random barrel in town looking for treasure and magic items, in between barging into the homes of people that are relatively blasé about all these adventurers looting their place right in front of them. But I imagine you plan a more serious game. ^_^

In reply to DeeYin (msg # 4):

Correct, that'd be one of the aspects of the computer game I wouldn't want to pursue. I also plan on using content from  volo's guide to the sword coast.

Not a huge amount of interest here but what the heck, let's give it a whirl: link to another game
