Re: Sabre Fox's memory: Midnight sun
Golden Sparrow smiled at his friend's emotional suggestion, then nodded and glanced at the other Magnakai Master Superior.
"Raven, if you would..."
The man focused his eyes on Golden Sparrow for a moment, then just shrugged and got up, his long airs and ample cloak - a shade of light green that was almost grey, making his whole figure appear almost spectral- billowing into the night as he moved to the middle of the field.
Then, Sparrow looked up at the crowd, clearly intending to pick at least another fighter.
"Alright, let's see if there's..."
"Hey, is this a boy-only party, or can a girl join in, too?"
Both friends turned to see the slender figure of Sun Fox emerging from the shadow behind them - she was clearly coming directly from the Tower of the Sun, and the spring in her step was as carfully balanced as ever, meaning she had not drank anything tonight.
The girl looked at Golden Sparrow with a playful expression, then cocked her head to the side in a cutesy move, letting her long golden curls fall perfectly around her head even as she put up a pouting expression.
"Come on, it's not like it's going to change anything!"
From behind the two, Blazing Boar's bellow could be heard throughout the court.
"Yeah Sparrow, let the kid have a blast and play with the big boys for once!"
Golden Sparrow sighed, then just nodded, moving to the closest archery range to retrieve a bow and some quivers.
"Alright, Sun Fox, go on."
"Great!"
The girl unsheated the massive broadsword she was carrying on her back with a fluorish - it was a weapon she'd won by killing it's previous owner, a Death Knight, in a duel - and moved to the middle of the field while saying in a bellow:
"Let's fight then!"
Blazing Boar seemed to take that as the signal to start, because he roared and charged at Starfire, who quite easily dodged the attack and slashed with his sword at Boar's back, drawing a grunt from him and making a smattering of blood drops flew through the air in an arc, following the movement of his sword.
Golden Sparrow shared a worried glance with Saber Fox - normally, Starfire wouldn't have drawn blood in a spar, just hit boar with the flat of his blade on the head and knocked him out that way - but then his expression turned serious, and as he prepared an arrow, he said to his friend, in a wishper he alone could hear:
"Screen me."
So, here the battle can start! ^^
I want to give you a run down of what you're facing and what have at your side. Let's start with your allies.
Most of you all are very lightly armed, since you were at a party after all - you're only carrying the weapon you would normally have about your person in a standard situation (Lone Wolf's rule of "always be prepared for a sneak attack like Femharn: each Kai must, at all time, be armed to fight". As such, everybody has always a weapon along - unless, like Blazing Boar, they fight unarmed).
It's up to you whether this would be a normal sword, or Vigilance - though I'd honestly prefer the former, so that I can put out deciding Vigilance's effect a bit more. But if you want to have your magic sword along for the fight, I'll think something up, don't worry! :D
Since neither seems like it wouldn't be comfortable enough to walk around in it, I'm also allowing you to keep both the bracers and the waistcoat on your person, so you can fight at full potential.
For this once, I'll be allowing you not to damage your equipment even should you roll a 1. Be aware this is only because I'm nice. ;)
On his own, Golden Sparrow left both his magic bow and his magic sword back in his quarters, but he do has a common sword along and just recovered a bow.
I should mention that Golden Sparrow is unofficially recognized as the best archer in the Order - it somehow escaped me in the tale of your shared battles, but now you know.
Starfire is carrying a random sword, while Raven had his own personal magical sword about himself. It's a very slender sword with a silver, basked hilt, and a motive of white dragon engraved on the blade - it increase his magical power.
The only one heavily armored of you all is Sun Fox - she's carrying two daggers to her side, as well as a silver scimitar and, of course, the broadsword; the girl is likely getting back from some nightly training with Lone Wolf.
Let's get down to some number crunching:
Blazing Boar:
No armor (nor wearing anything above the waist, in fact), only special equipment being a pair of magically empowered gloves that supercharge his punches with magic (but only if he fights unarmed).
Disciplines: LC of fire + Curing (5, Primate)
Improvements: Martial Arts (WM), Breeze Shield (Nex), Elemental Protection (Nex), Strength (BM Spell), Energy Grasp (BM Spell), Empowerment (BM Spell), Power Word (BM Spell)
12 CS + 7 CS (daily roll) + 4 CS (glyph gloves) + 2 CS (Strength spell) = 25 CS
24 END + 9 END (9 starting allocation) = 33 END
12 WP + 2 WP (4 starting allocation) = 14 WP
Silver Raven:
Normal habits, special equipment being his shoulder-padded cloak (magic stones under the hem and a magic linen that connect them) that he created himself, and his magic sword, "Dragon's Song".
Dragon's Song powers: +2 CS for five combat rounds by paying 1 WP to make the air around the sword vibrate slightly; also, it can drain 2 END from the user to recover 5 WP as a special attack action.
Disciplines: Weaponsmastery (Sword, Dagger), Kai-Alchemy, Craftsmanship. (3 MM Superior). Also, Weaponskill is with Sword.
Improvements: Nimble Slash (WM battle trick), Repairing at Will (CM), Fusion (CM), Lightning Hand (KA spell), Summon Water (KA Spell), Counterspell (KA spell), Sense Evil (KA Spell), Net (KA spell), Mist (KA spell), Freeze (KA spell)
10 CS + 6 CS (dayly roll) + 1 CS (Weaponskill sword) + 2 CS (Dragon's song) = 19 CS
24 END + 1 END (1 starting allocation) = 25 END
12 WP + 6 WP (12 starting allocation) + 5 WP (cloak's extra WP reserve) = 23 WP
Sun Fox:
Special Equipment: White Silver Chainmail (+1 CS, +2 END), Silver Diadem (+5 extra WP), Jade Armlets (+1 CS, +1 END, +1 WP), Kagonite Broadsword (+1 CS, +2 damage, -2 additional fatigue CS reduction after end combat), Silver Scimitar (spell imbued with the "Lighting Hand" spell, -1 WP to activate, Lone Wolf's gift)
Disciplines: LC of Fire + Psy Surge (WM: Sword, Broadsword) (5 discipline: Primate) Also, Weaponskill is with Broadsword.
Improvements: Dagger (WM additional weapon), Fire Dominion (Nex), One-handed Wielding (WM), Flaming Blade (BM spell), Strength (BM spell), Empowerment (BM spell), Invisible Shield (BM spell), Arrow Deflection (Nex), Breeze Shield (Nex), Weapon Throwing (WM), Point Black Range Throw (WM battle trick).
12 CS + 9 (8+2) CS (dayly roll + 6 starting allocation), + 1 CS (weaponskill broadsword) + 3 CS (equipment) + 2 CS (Strenght spell) = 27 CS
24 END + 1 END (1 starting allocation) + 3 END (equipment) = 27 END
12 WP + 3 WP (6 starting allocation) + 6 WP (equipment) = 21 WP
Golden Sparrow:
No special equipment worth noting
Disciplines: LC Fire + Herbmastery, Pathsmanship, Invisibility (WM: Bow, Sword). Also, his weaponskill is in Bow.
Improvements: Quick-firing into Melee (WM battle tricks), Flaming Blade (BM spell), Flameshaft (BM spell), Energy Burst (BM spell), Empowerment (BM spell), Penetrate (BM spell), Fire dominion (Nex), Telescopic sight (H), Night vision (H) Strenght (BM spell), Dodge (H), Empowered Recall (Nex), Armor Knowledge (WM)
12 CS + 6 (4+2) CS (daily roll + 6 starting allocation) - 4 CS (currently using bow) = 14 CS
24 END + 1 END (1 starting allocation) = 25 END
12 WP + 3 WP (6 starting allocation) = 15 WP
Yeah, Golden Sparrow might look like the weakest one, but that's just because he's not well equipped and he's meeleing - when the moment comes for him to melee, you'll see he's better than Boar and Raven for certain.
Beside, there's a reason if the thread is named "Midnight Sun" and not "Midnight Sparrow".
Anyway, I don't feel like making the same list for Starfire, but I'll do give you his stats:
CS 29, END 28, WP 24 - he's just as unequipped as you lot are, remember that.
Anyway, the battle started already - Fox used the first turn to cast strenght on herself, while both Boar and Starfire had done that before the start of the battle, so Boar attacked; his Combat Ratio is -4 and he rolled a 3, but Starfire used a Dodge (Huntmastery improvement) to avoid any damage and hit.
So, you've now the choice on wheter to attack first, then backing away while Raven has his go, or let him strike first and the charge in.
Either way, Sparrow will go last - he'd said to screen, so he's likely planning an arrow strike on Starfire after your attacks have him confused, and before he can target Sparrow himself.
Oh, and if you have suggestion on what you want the others to do, feel free to shout them! ;)
Current Situation:
Blazing Boar: 30/33 END, 10/14 WP, -4 CR
Silver Raven: 25/25 END, 23/23 WP, -10 CR
Sun Fox: 27/27 END WP 17/21 WP, -2 CR
Saber Fox: 29/29 END, 14/14 WP, -8 CR
Golden Sparrow: END 25/25, 15/15 WP, -15 CR
Starfire: END 28/28, WP: 20/24
