Current Goals and Summaries (Qantariate)
OOC: As reminder to help you think of various actions now that the timer is off (at least for now), here are some goals/issues related to the Qantariate campaign:
LeGrange:
LeGrange supposedly has a Sathar implant, which has caused his erratic behavior. Appleburg says he can remove the implants. Apparently, Terry also likely has such an implant. It is believed the implants were put in by Sathar and the reasons may have something to do with the Qantariate.
Also, remember that the alien artifact/datasphere that LeGrange is supposed to have the ability to potentially use to decode Qantariate messages to help resist the Qantariate invasion was stolen by the Sathar from Tariel Nuna's lab (see "Dark Side of the Moon"), and she and others were killed:
The sphere (also known as "The Hole Between Worlds"), you surmise, might have been brought here by the Sathar, since this planet seems to be a central connection to the Qantariate. LeGrange might know a little more.
Qantariate:
You had two items: the datasphere (above) and a datastick. The latter was decoded. It allowed you to see the timing of the Qantariate invasion and the existence of the Synth, which are a Qantariate resistance group who oppose the invasion and destruction. You are having problems communicating with the Synth because the sphere has not been decoded yet.
You had a datapad that was translated by Kyrillian (see The Blackness). You were instructed to take the sphere to Tariel Nuna on Kraatar. She informed you that only LeGrange could possibly figure it out.
The primary weapons of the Qantariate sympathizers (bombs or guns) tend to be weapons which suck, compress, (or whatever the word is) objects into their dimension, instantly killing them and leaving behind only a black residue ("The Blackness"). The same is true of their transportation between dimensions; it destroys everything in its path, except, apparently, if transported through the sphere. The Qantariate are black because they do not exist as normal corporeal substance in this world, and they sometimes leave a trail of the black substance behind, which is like acid or worse to the touch.
The very few Qantariate creatures encountered were essentially invisible. Kyrillian: "What we know of them so far is that sometimes they move around us without us being able to detect them visibly. They can be invisible, in other words. The other thing they can do is cover themselves in the blackness like a cloak to help them quickly act and move between dimensions."
Bugs in the System:
You discovered that the "bugs in the system," called the Matrix, were actually developed as a response to try to counter the Qantariate invasion, but something went wrong. The Matrix was supposed to interrupt the Qantariate from being able to communicate to this dimension (i.e., to the Sathar).
Dark Side of the Moon:
Tariel Nuna put the datasphere in a special chemical mixture, which made a strange creature appear, supposedly from the Qantariate dimension. She found out that it acts like a keyhole and beacon to the Qantariate dimension. But the only one who could really figure it out would be LeGrange.
Eleanor Moraes:
LeGrange's ship fled and then crashed on Magh Mar. You chased him with the Moraes to search for him, only to find out that Terry is with LeGrange and is attempting to rescue him. Only by removing the implants can you return LeGrange to his normal, rational self and have him help you find and use the sphere.
LeGrange was returned to normal, but there are clear signs of Qantariate on Magh Mar, including a black pyramid with the Blackness and four strange sentries. The Sathar also have at least one outpost in the north and have captured the captain and engineer.
Meanwhile, the rescue ship was shot down by some surface to air missiles. You found the ship, but the survivors had to flee due to Sathar attack.
You befriended the bird-like race (Notui) and destroyed an EMP emanating from the Qantariate pyramid.
As of day 3 on Magh Mar, there are 23 days until the invasion.
